I am so happy I found this place. They have Mexican dresses at affordable prices. I can’t wait to bring my mother here when she visits!

My experience has been 4 stars as I haven’t yet experienced all aspects of the store’s offerings. When I step into the store, I feel centered and peaceful. It’s got a reassuring vibe to it. The Cantus have a tendency to stop me in my tracks… they ask, «Are you doing ok?» in that«how are you *really*?» kind of way. It’s a bit unnerving. They’ve been helpful when I ask about certain items, and offer guidance in using candles in different ways. The prices are reasonable — I usually don’t spend more than $ 20, and that’s on what I consider big purchases. They have a large selection of religious candles, oils, herbs, and more, along with some gift items. I’m a bit self-conscious going in as I’m only starting to dip my feet into my own spiritual practices, but they’ve never made me feel inferior or like I wasn’t the type of person who should shop there. They seem to care about me as a customer and are generally attentive. I recommend stopping in to poke around.

Need new direction in life? Get your cards read. You don’t have to believe in this sort of thing to get a new feel for your life and get going again, which is basically the point of seeing a psychic. $ 35 to speak with a psychic who will let you ask questions and spends at least 20 min talking with you in depth about your life. I’d recommend this place to anybody who has an open mind and needs a little kick in the pants. Who needs a therapist anyway. BTW, you can fulfill all of your jesus candle, amulet and spices/herbs needs here as well. One stop shop. Very nice staff and cool store.

Mr. Cantu has definitely changed my life, in the most positive way. Go to him with an open mind and open heart. I will continue to visit him and recommend him to anyone seeking spiritual healing.

Because of Mr. Cantu’s spiritual work, cleansings, and candles, I have since found a job and have had many promotions. My love relationship has healed and gotten back on track and I have experienced many blessings in all areas of my life. There are two types of spiritual cleansings, the cheaper one is $ 35 and is done over the clothing. The other cleansing is done in under garmets over the body for $ 45. I have had both and prefer the $ 45 cleansing because I see results right away. You can feel your chakras opening up and it is as if a weight has been lifted afterwards. I always feel light and very cheerful afterwards. What happens during these cleansings is that your vibrational frequency is being raised so all the negative energy is being released from your aura. I highly recommend Mr. Cantu for trajabadores espirituales because he is very gifted. There are other reasons to visit Cantus Mexican Imports as well. You can choose from an array of candles for those who like fixed candles, religious candles, candles used in «magic» as well. If you are a practicing spiritual healer, Cantus Mexican Imports has the supplies you need to do your own work. Or If you are looking for religious jewelry and rosaries, Mexican blankets(great quality and very colorful), authentic sombreros, Mexican dresses, soaps, perfumes, oils, herbs, or decorative religious statues you will find some very unique and beautiful items there as well. This is a very special, family-owned shop that is in the heart of Austin’s South 1st Street shops and restaurants/food trucks area. It is small and charming with great energy and Mexican flare.

A friend in Olmito(outside of Brownsville) directed me to Cantu’s when I asked about herberias in Austin. The employee at the store(not the owner, but a young woman) was knowledgable and helpful with recommending treatments. This is definitely not really the kind of place where you go in and buy what you think is best for your problem. Most items are behind the counter or in the glass cases, but I like this aspect. The herberia owner and employee should be knowledgable about their treatments and help you, and that is exactly what they did. If you are down with the wonders of herberias, this one will not dissapoint.

Definitely not what I expected from a supposed«curandero». This man(mr. Cantu) is a fraud! He needs to reconsider his ability to read the tarot cards. He had no clue to what he was doing! Dont waste your money!!! I also got cleansing which he asked me to take of my clothes in order for him to heal me of my negative energy. During the cleaninsing he rubbed me with oils, prayed, and rubbed by body with an egg. During the cleanse i felt very violated as he fondled by breast a tush! Call it nauve but I thought this was normal protocol for a cleanse. Wrong! Ladies, stay away from this place ! No spiritual healing just sexual feeling! Yuk! Find a real healer!

This is one of those little places I’ve driven by a thousand times and never stopped in… I’m giving them five stars because they were so incredibly sweet here. I went in the night before a job interview to get a bundle of sage to burn(my roommate and I thought we – and the house – could use a little purification). The woman at the counter said they didn’t carry any, that it had gotten expensive, and when I asked where might carry it – to look at the Herb Bar, Whole Foods, or Sun Harvest. But then she looked and found one lone bundle(when we burned it, it smelled like another herb and made us a little loopy, but I digress). I then found a candle with«JOB”/“Trabajo» written on it, and the woman helpfully sprayed my wallet with some sort of lucky spray(all the money in the register was getting the same treatment). She then insisted I get a blessing from the man at the store. I’m agnostic(but have Catholic roots), and any little bit helps! He blessed me with some sort of holy oil, and I have to say, I walked out feeling a little more positive and lucky. We’ll see if I get the call… I told them I would keep them posted. *I did get a job – not the one I was interviewing for, but one that’s even a better fit. And everyone who’s gotten a job candle(or been near my job candle) has gotten one, too! Five stars!
