Okay I just stayed at this candlewood suite. My second time staying at a candlewood suite and I am always disgusted with the cleanliness of the rooms. I woke up this morning and had a flea on my arm!!! I freaked out and finished changing to get out of room as soon as I can. I just hope those suckers do not go home with me! This is the last time I stay at one of these establishments!!!

Not bad, has everything you need. Beds are ok, mine was loose and made noise. Shower pressure is ok. You get what you pay for. Service was excellent.

Great price. No high dollar pet deposit, which is nice when you have dogs that dont pee all over! Comfortable & clean. Only thing i would complain about is we were in a non smoking room & it was obviously smoked in, gave me a headache but nothing a open window couldnt fix! I think we’d stay here again for the low pet deposit alone!

Comfortable, clean, convenient, very inexpensive. My room had a full kitchen, so this would be perfect for an extended stay, especially considering there is a Whole Foods within walking distance. No breakfast though, so for just a few days’ trip I’d prefer the Hampton Inn. They didn’t put the receipt under my door on check-out day, which meant I had to go to the desk and ask for it. A minute here, a minute there, it all adds up, so I’d rather not have to go ask for my receipt. It’s good though – if you’re in town for a while, this is a good place to stay.

Can’t wait to see what this place will look like after all the renovations are complete. Our suite was really nice and spacious. The decorations were very up to date. The staff here are friendly. This place is only about 8 miles away from downtown. It is a good location if you ever want to visit Austin.

So this place is going through some renovations right now and it will not be done until April. I can’t give it high marks base off of that, but I’m sure once the renovating is done this place would be great. The parking lot is not well lit and during this renovation they turn off the water Monday through Friday from 9:30am to 4pm. It is really not convenient right now. It is very near Whole Foods and other restaurants. The room is clean for the most part, but I did find a hair in the bathtub and I know it wasn’t mine. The receptionist was very nice and helpful. I told him my toilet kept flushing and he came to my room right away and fixed it. It has it’s normal amenities such as the gym and laundry area. It does have free Internet through Ethernet, but not WiFi. I’m sure I will be back so I’ll review this place again after I have seen the finish renovation work.

Quite a decent location, right by the Whole Foods across the street which is great, and near some shops if you’re interested(Container Store, Nordstrom Rack, Best Buy). The actual building however, is shoddily made. We could hear EVERYONE and EVERYTHING, which is not the case in some Candlewood Suites I’ve stayed in. I can’t believe how loud it was. Still, the other guests staying there are clearly not bums which helps(trust me, there are some with sketchy characters), and overall it’s a recommended hotel from me to stay in if you are in Austin.

This is for my money, the best value in Austin. For under $ 100, the rooms are spacious, all with kitchen/refrigerator. The location is central(not downtown, but close to UT Campus and Arboretum). The desk service has always been extraordinarily attentive(never met someone who was disinterested in my stay, in 20+ nights). The rooms and grounds are always clean, and the gazebo area is a great place to host small groups. Update: November 2013 This place underwent some nice renovations in 2012 – 13, the suites bathrooms and TVs as well as the public areas. Along with, prices have crept up to $ 119 a night. I still prefer the suite format and great service, however you can probably get the same price at hotels like Omni or Hilton. Candlewood also had a great rewards program for free, upon check in you’ll get a few perks like snacks and bottled water.

This hotel met all of my expectations. I didn’t want anything fancy just simple. They offered an apt style living situation that worked for me. I appreciated the free laundry and free wifi. The gym sucked that’s why I didn’t give it a full 5 stars.

My client booked this hotel for me, and I admit I was leery because some of the reviews on insiderpages said this place was a dump. It’s not. It was hard for me to rate this hotel fairly. I wanna give it three stars because I’m not quite as happy here as I’d be at the Springhill Suites(my usual haunt), but that place is $ 149/night compared to this $ 80/night. And really, the differences between the two are negligible. I rounded up from 3.5 stars. This hotel is geared towards the extended stay guest, so their philosophy is to leave you the heck alone and if you need something you should ask. So yeah, I keep looking for things to hate and I can’t find anything. You get quite a bit of goodness for an $ 80/night hotel. The room is huge, simple and clean and features a full kitchen with full-sized appliances. There’s a a totally separate bedroom with a door in case your hypothetical roommate is watching TV or something. Pros: [] Free(hard-wired) speedy internet [] DVD player /VCR in each room, with a library of free movies to rent downstairs [] Comfy pillows [] Full kitchen [] Lots of storage space [] Home-like amenities(laundry basket, recliner) [] Big, clean, pube-free bathroom with fine water pressure and plenty of hot water. [] They have(convenience-store-esque) food/snacks/razors/stuff available for purchase on the honor system [] free laundry(detergent is available in the convenience store thinger for cheap) [] Noise between rooms isn’t bad [] It’s across the street from a movie theater [] There’s decent food within walking distance Cons, which aren’t really cons: [] Front desk staff isn’t there after 11pm… but do I ever need someone after 11? [] Housekeeping only comes once per week… but I have plenty of towels to last me for my stay, and it’s kinda nice not having to clean up for the maid. [] Furniture is slightly worn and there’s the occasional small paint ding, but whatever… it’s minimal. Really, it’s just fine.
