The tortillas are prepared fresh in front of you. They fill them as you want them. The result is nothing but wonderful.

Dear God, honey mint tea, the yummiest bowls and mango salsa, and Gluten Free. Only thing better that could happen at this place if they had a live simulator to ride a wave on their groovy beach themed décor. Fan-freaking-tastic.

I really liked this place! The burritos are big and cheesy, and I like that you aren’t required to pick from a menu of burritos full of veggies and things I don’t want. My only complaint is that the rice is full of some lettuce thing that prefer not to have. Overall, I love these burritos!

From freshly made tortillas to fish just out of the fryer, every ingredient from start to finish in my Baja fish tacos was very fresh! Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful as well and parking is definitely not an issue. For about $ 8 for 3 amazingly delicious fish tacos, I’d say Cabo Bob’s is beyond compare.

Cabo Bob’s is an excellent lunch spot in west campus! They have ample parking and seating, the food is fresh and they always have friendly service. For just $ 8.49 I got 3DELUXEFISHTACOS that were filling and juicy. A lot of people compare this place to chipotle, but I feel like the fried fish tacos are what make this place distinct.

Good fattening burritos. Brisket, carnitas, other good meats and stuff. The pop machine has Cane Imperial Sugar flavored pops, including a variant of dr pepper, i think its called Dr Baja. All kinds of sugary goodness. Or you can have iced tea. Has a patio. Staff is usually friendly. Only a couple retards working there. Its usually clean. Bathrooms are cool. About the parking? Im not sure, I usually park at the laundromat and come here while my clothes are washing.

This is my favorite place to get some good food. The staff are friendly, the food is always on point, and fairly priced. Sometimes there’s a long queue for food, and I believe that it’s because they’re so good. Will definitely continue to go here!

Probably the only legit mission style burrito I’ve had in Austin, people are cool, let me walk in with my pup to order, very friendly, and the tortillas are off the hook

When I first tried this I was shocked that it wasn’t as popular as Chipotle. There’s plenty of seating inside, and the atmosphere is very peaceful. They have fish as one of the options, and that’s something you rarely find in Mexican restaurants. Everything just tastes fresh, and that’s what I love about this place!

I’m not sure if I mean this but I think it’s better than Chipotle. I was extremely excited about the tortillas made on the spot. The burrito is HUGE and the price is reasonable. Just a bit far from campus but definitely worth going.

This was my first time eating at a Cabo Bob’s and I have to say it was FABULOUS! Judging by the different choices of soft tortilla shells, the meat selection, and the fresh or sautéed vegetables and sauces available, Cabo Bob’s already sets itself far above Chipotle or Baja Fresh, in my opinion. They even have unique soda flavors like Texas peach or old fashioned pink cream soda! If you want a big, flavorful meal that will carry you through both lunch and dinner, give this place a try!

Was in town and chose this place on a whim. O.M.G YOUGUYS! They make their tortillas fresh, right in front of your F*&^INGFACE!!! I told this to my 9 year old nephew and he said«Like, they crush the wheat?» No, they don’t crush the wheat, but they DOCRUSHIT! So you can pick from 3 – 4 flavors of tortilla. They have the dough balls ready then they press them flat and huge, then throw them on a rotating gridle and cook them up. Do you know how fantastic it is to watch your tortilla get all bubbly and griddled? F*&^INGFANTASTIC!!! I had some kind of pork(sorry, don’t remember because my mind was blown by the tortillas) with white rice, baja beans(?) and other delightful fillings(like the squash/zucchini — YUM!!) It was huge and delicious and I kept telling myself to STOPEATING but I just couldn’t! Carb overload, but totally worth it. P. S. I had the green tortilla — Tomatillo & Cilantro I think? So yum. F*CKIT! I never give Five Stars, but it’s been over a week and I’m still dreaming about those damn tortillas. Tomatillo and CRACK is more like it.

I’ve given Chipotle 5 stars and I think Cabo Bob’s is even better. The tortillas are made fresh to order. I’ve tried all 4 flavors but ancho chili is my favorite. The meat is good quality. There’s a ton of sauce choices. Food is reasonably priced(~$ 7) and they have stamp cards for returning customers.

Cabo Bob’s takes Chipotle to a whole new world. From the variety of fresh made tortillas to the large amount of stuffings, you really can’t beat this place. Not only are they very friendly but they also make every item extremely filling and for a great price. I got three different tacos and they were all massive. I am definitely coming back here again!

Cabo Bob’s is one of the best burritos in the world. I’ve been here so often I’ve lost count of the punch cards I’ve made it through. I recently moved away from Austin and the Cabo Bob’s is one of my biggest cravings… The can’t stop won’t stop eating good: — FRESHTORTILLAS. OHMYGOD. — Fried fish is on the spot — Hot sauce is absurdly good The bad: — Lines can get a bit long — Cashier can get judgmental if it’s your 2nd meal of the day there Some tips and tricks: — Mix tortillas(yes you can do this). I usually get a half ancho chili half smokey cheddar for a burrito. — Half & half meats usually yields more quantity — Buy tortillas by themselves to-go

This place is a tad bit farther from campus compared to chipotle or qdoba but it’s totally worth it! There plenty of seating inside and outside. I typically get either the burrito or the tacos because they make the tortillas right in front of you so you know it’s super fresh! I normally go with the cilantro one. They also have fish which I know chipotle doesn’t have and it’s super delicious! The portion sizes are similar to chipotle so I definitely have leftovers. If you’re ever craving delicious tacos and burritos, come here! It’s worth the distance! I’m so sad they only have locations in Austin. Hopefully they’ll expand to Dallas soon!

Most UT-Austin kids would agree that this place trumps Chipotle… always. The main difference? When I think Cabo vs Chipotle, I just think Cabo is more«clean» in every aspect. Hard to describe, but for now, let’s talk food. Walking in you’ll notice the décor is bright and colorful. The ordering style is exactly like chipotle but they have 3 different tortilla flavors you can get. I don’t ever get the other 2 so I’ll only talk about the cilantro tomatillo. Can you taste the cilantro? Probably not, but it’s pretty neat to eat a green buritto. You can also get the flavors triple taco-size style. I believe this place has more meats than chipotle too. One thing that stands out is the fish. Portioning-wise, IIRC they’re pretty generous and give you 2 per taco. I’ve only gotten the burritos recently but getting the tacos with fish is always a great go-to for newbies. Anyways, there is no proper combination of ingredients so just throw in whatever looks good. If you get the fish make sure to get the pico on it too. Lots of sauces to choose from as well. I always get something different so I don’t remember anything of them at all. All of them sound and taste good anyway. Finally, that punch card nets you a free burrito per 6 burritos OR a cabo-bob’s t-shirt, which I feel as though is worth it a lot more. Plus, you’re going to be coming back here anyway so you don’t even have to take into account that you have to buy 6 burritos, :P(any menu item, not specifically burritos). All in all, I’ve gone here several times these past few years and there’s nothing really holding me back. Price is fair(if not seemingly cheaper than chipotle, but I never compare because the portions are generous to make me think it’s cheaper). 9/10, would always come back again and definitely recommend to a friend.

A good supplement to chipotle! I love the fact that you can pick your tortilla flavors which are made right in front of you. You can either pick the specials that already have the fix ins chosen for you or you can build your own creation– chipotle style. The battered fish is a great tasty meat choice. I order a salad, which comes with 2 tortillas of my choice, and then make my own little tacos. I like how there is more variety in the toppings and sauces also. For a quick and cheap dinner fix to fill you up, cabo bobs is an excellent choice! It will leave you with a happy wallet and tummy.

This is one of my favorite places for lunch in Austin. They give you a great discount on your order if you’re in the military, and it doesn’t matter if you’re dining in or getting it to go. Let me say it is one of the best discounts in town. The concept is about the same as Chipotle, but Cabo Bob’s is way more festive and has way more choices for tacos, burritos, burrito bowls, and the service is much better. I will put up with the complete lack of good parking, its very awkward location, and its always busy and bustling atmosphere just to get lunch here! I usually get fish tacos with all 3 different flavored flour tortillas, or a burrito bowl with shredded pork or something. I also get their very tasty chips and salsa. Be mindful there are two salsa choices, red and green, and that green sauce is really spicy! Definitely a great place for lunch whether you’re dining in or out.

Capsule review: Cabo Bob’s offers good variety and value to make it a solid player in an Austin market overflowing with taco and burrito choices. Full review below. At first, I was simply ignorant of Cabo Bob’s existence, and afterward I merely ignored it. It’s just too far to casually walk from my campus building for lunch, and, given that Chipotle satisfies my chain burrito needs, I assumed it wouldn’t be worth the effort. But lo and behold, Unilocal intervened. I saw 4.5 stars, and considered the possibility of a hidden gem. And a hidden gem it is: I almost dropped the five-bomb on it, but some hitches are keeping me at four. I’ll be back to reconsider, though. Nothing about the look of the place promises much: it’s like a discount Joe’s Crab Shack on the inside, with nautical murals on the walls and wooden tables meant to resemble reclaimed ship wood. There’s a huge outdoor picnic-bench area as well for braving the heat. Still, I kinda hate the all-things-Cancun ethos, so I was a little leery. Service concept is that Subway-inspired DIY assembly line. They have ten preset burrito options(plus tacos and sides), if you’re in a hurry or choice frightens you, or the build-your-own. There are four yummy tortillas to pick from, pressed and roasted right in front of you. Just the tortilla alone made me quietly vow to divorce Chipotle, but the fact that you can get fried fish helped as well. I went with brown rice, a mix of black and pinto beans, fish, sauteed poblanos, two salsas and some guac. They have two additional hot sauces on pumps by the drink fountain. Not only was the burrito excellent, I could have split it with someone and walked away full. My will to overeat was overwhelmed, and I threw away a quarter of it despite its fresh-tortilla-fishy-burrito goodness. And before I added the guac, this log of food was only going to be $ 6.99. Damns. Staff were super friendly, although it looked as if service had gone a little off the rails as the manager ran some orders to people standing around waiting, I was nearly handed someone else’s food, side cups had run out at the condiment stand, etc. Everything was fixed, but the shift could maybe have run a little more smoothly. Still, Cabo Bob’s is an easy keeper, and also(forgive the alliteration) very viable for vegetarians and vegans – you won’t leave this one hungry.
