I love coming here –without my kids. Not really a kid place. But they have great salads. I love their tuna nicoise salad. Fabulous and the price isn’t too steep.

The wonderful little bistro is tucked away in small strip mall on Bee Caves Rd. I had the opportunity to stop by and try one of my favorite dishes– Salad Nicoise. This was the best I’ve had in Austin. Fresh and delicious. The service was on fleek as well. Will definitely be back!

Blue Dahlia is a cute little French café located in West Lake. The great part about Blue Dahlia is that it’s further out from the main city, which means no wait and no crazy crowd. It’s located in a fairly large shopping center with plenty of parking, and they have a lot of seating both indoors and outdoors.(Their outdoor patio is really nice but not very bearable in the Summer/Spring heat). Food: They have an amazing bread basket, and a great spread of jams and Nutella on the table! While I was there, I ordered their special egg frittata — sausage, feta, and peppper — as well as a latte. The frittata came with a delicious salad as well as some bread, and it was a huge portion. The frittata was fluffy and light, and I didn’t feel awful after eating it because it wasn’t too oily or greasy. The latte was delicious; it was a really smooth blend and great for a morning pick me up.

What a great little spot in the Westway area of Austin! We came here for brunch on a Saturday morning around 11:30am and were seated with ease. This place is very adorable, yet casual. They have indoor as well as outdoor seating– if the weather is nice I suggest the patio! Plenty of tables and a great atmosphere. I had the Parisian baguette sandwich– large portion! It came with butter, ham, Havarti cheese, tomato & choice of dill cream cheese(or you can get both!). And a small side of spicy baby pickles which really complimented the sandwich. Others at the table dined on a turkey cranberry and a ham Gruyère. No complaints from anyone! Great little find!

The food is very good, very tasty. Something just doesn’t feel right about the service, though. It felt as if there were certain regulars who received special attention and we were given perfunctory service, not rude at all, just meh. This location is not as charming as the east side place, but both have great food.

It was a rainy day when I went. We opted to sit outside under the little ledge. Great atmosphere and wonderful food!

Not sure if they were understaffed today but my friend and I came for lunch this afternoon and the service was lacking, to say the least. They forgot part of our order, when I asked for it they didn’t bring it but instead came back empty handed and said, oh did you still want that? They forgot to bring any dressing for my salad. Not too mention I’m over 30 and the waitress examined my ID for a solid 3 minutes before asking if I was SURE that I wanted the bottle of wine instead of just a glass. Gimme a break. I guess I wasn’t dressed nice enough to get good service here today.

Love this place, but there’s a major catch: My husband and I hate that they only serve cold soup in the summer. Please stop doing that! WELOVETHESOUPHOT! Even in the summer. It’s okay, Texans have been known to eat tortilla soup and chili year round and they would never eat either one cold. I don’t mind if there’s a cold gazpacho, but please keep one hot soup option. Please?!

We went here for dinner. It was okay. Sat outside and they have plenty of heaters if it’s cold. I had a salad which was exactly what I needed. Had a white bordeaux with it. My wife had an egg thing. Portion sizes were good, and the price was good. Nothing impressive, but just a solid place to go have a meal and talk.

I had the special of the day., scallops, it was amazing! Enjoyed it to the end. I shared a crème brûlée with my friend and it was delicious too. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone! Oh! and the waitress was very nice.

Had a great lunch at this cute bistro the other day. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. Although the outdoor seating came with heaters, we decided on seats indoors. Soup of the day was a cream of cauliflower. Nicely done. Appreciated that when the server noticed that we would be sharing the soup that she offered to bring an additional slice of bread. He had the smoked salmon with herbed cream cheese and fresh dill tartine, which was beautifully presented on a slice of slate. A very light layer of herbed cream cheese helped to connect slices of smoked salmon to thin slices of fresh wheat bread. The plate was additionally garnished with dill, slices of cucumber, a wedge of lemon and a slice of cantaloupe. I had the daily egg frittata, which this day was filled with spinach and feta. The mix of flavors and the texture of the frittata were just right. The frittata was accompanied by a slice each of french baguette and whole wheat bread, greens, and a small cup of pesto. We finished our meal with a crème brulee and coffee. The crème brulee had an almost pudding like rich yellow satiny creamy texture. This was creamier than most crème brulees that I remember, and I really enjoyed it.

The prices are good. I enjoyed the prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich was good. The sandwiches come open faced. The quality of ingredients is good. The mozzarella was fresh, sun dried tomato was vibrant, the pesto was good, and the bread tasted fresh. The prosciutto was ok. Their drip coffee was excellent super good. Service was really good. The environment felt like a rustic high end starbucks. I will be going back, but it won’t be a go to for me.

I’m down grading my original four stars. I still love the food. I still the the staff are entirely charming but the mosquitos are out of control. The last few time’s here, inside and out, I’ve been eaten alive. Granted I’m something of a magnet for them but something’s got to be done aside from handing out some crusty looking insect repellant to guests. They’re unbearable. Maybe citronella candles? Or planting some mosquito repealing plants. Or just angling the fans better. So many dark corners for them to hide in. My bouillabaisse was, as per usual, delicious. But next time I get a craving for it I’m going to get it to go. Or wear my Haz-Mat suit.

Try their Maryland Crab Cake Salad w/roasted red pepper aioli and pesto if it is on the menu when you are there. I love good crab cakes and this one was all crab and no filler. Awesome taste and blended well with farm to table greens. The pesto was perfect as was the aioli. I don’t remember what their soup of the day was but it was good! For desert, I had the flourless chocolate cake with chocolate ganache. Scrumptious. Considering how good their food is, the cost is very reasonable. All fresh ingredients, seasonal and daily specials based on ingredient availability.

With the music and open face sandwiches I feel like I am back abroad when I was here. This is definitely a place for girlfriends to catch up for lunch. The prosciutto with mozzarella and pesto is the best sandwich, not too sweet like some of the other items. They make the bread in house too which makes it feel extra authentic.

Little cute place with a terrace in the back. Ideal for some brunch or coffee. All the dishes are served well decorated; makes you want to order everything. However, the salmon was very average– the toasts not being toasted– and the crepes were not real french crepes plus I asked for nutella and I got chocolate syrup(it’s not the same folks!) The best part was the cheesecake. That one was really good. I would like them to offer some fresh juices and then it would be the perfect spot for a relaxed afternoon with friends.

Food: I got the Prosciutto with mozzarella, pesto and sun dried tomatoes. The bread was really good. I’m not 100% sure but I want to say that they make their own bread. Overall good sandwich. My sister got the gazpacho tomato basil soup which tasted like salsa — clumpy and lots of onion & garlic. I would not recommend getting that again. Atmosphere: Super cute restaurant with a nice outdoor seating option in the back. Very laid back and austiny. Good for a date or to take your girlfriends for a catchup meal. Service: No complaints about the service. Our waiter let us try the hibiscus tea before we got it. Price: Priced correctly for the food quality and atmosphere. Not too expensive but a little bit more than your average sandwich. Mine was $ 10.50

What a cute little spot! It’s definitely a ladie’s brunch/catch up spot(mostly occupied by women). Having been in Austin too long, I was craving something healthier. Went with the Maryland crab cake salad with roasted red pepper aoili and pesto. It was perfect. Delicious, light, fresh! They also have a nice cold hibiscus tea, and always ask for the jam/nutella tray! Who knew jam and nutella would go so well together with bread!

What other solution can one come to when the last thoughts I a girl’s mind are, and I quote, «Company Happy Hour is years(miles) away, and there’s traffic… Austin traffic,» «I should head home and do my [metaphysical] homework,» and«I miss dearest Pagan sister.» Blue Dahlia Bistro! This place is beautiful in so many ways. Let’s start with the mystifying patio! It’s like eating in a garden! The darling little fence is made of beautiful unstained sticks of wood, there’s a gorgeous tree centered in the center, and above, separating me from the sky, is a canopy of those same gorgeous sticks; and yes, there’s a lovely hole cut for the beauty to grow out of. In essence, it’s the perfect place for a Lovely Luncheon or a Witches Brunch. The food is to DIE for! It’s elegant, sumptuous, filling, AND affordable! My favorite dish is the Smoked Salmon Tartine. Hearty slices of smoked salmon, fresh dill atop a freshly buttered slice of freshly baked bread. Don’t be fooled, this thing is at least 9 inches long and 4.5 inches wide! It’s well worth it! I couldn’t think of a better spot for anyone who loves nature to spend a glorious afternoon!
