Never coning back to this place again. Boyfriend and I were extremely hungry and wanted to watch the game. Decided to come here after we had previously decided to stop coming on account of the food is meh. But what the heck they have a good size bar and lots of tvs so why not. Should have just went to chilis never leave that place upset. Walk in get sat and were told our waiter would be right with us. About 15 damn minutes later no one has even been by our section. WTF. didn’t even stick around to try and see how much of a shitty night it would be. If I could give no stars I would. Last time we were here the server didn’t give a damn and the food was complete shit. Don’t even bother…

Don’t go here for the food. Better more quality food around. I don’t get why they have«shredded chicken» in the salad. It’s cold and dry and tasteless. Very basic cheap quality food for too-high of prices.

They let us sit a few minutes early which was nice! We sat outside to people watch. The air was a little cool, so they made sure to seat us by a blower heater… a BLOWER heater! Loved it. This was the best turkey burger I’ve ever had. And my daughter agreed. We’re not sure what they do to it to make it so tender and tasty, but I sure wish I could duplicate it at home! A great lunch at the Domain!

Best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had. I’m normally not a fan of pubs because they’re super loud and food selection normally sucks. But everything I tried here was phenomenal, service was great and it wasn’t too noisy. Mac and cheese was great and the mango mahi was also great. Ask for the waiter Dion, he was fantastic! Definitely plan on coming back.

Not impressed. This was our first time here. Karly W was our server. She wasn’t very personable at all. I heard great things about this place, so I was very excited to come. We arrived at 3:30pm on a Saturday. It wasn’t busy at all. We ordered a few drinks and some calamari as an appetizer. Drinks came, then our order… no calamari and no garlic mash potatoes that we ordered. She didn’t write down our order so I’m not surprised she screwed up. After we received our order, she didn’t come back once to see how everything turned out. Not happy with the service. I understand people mess up but not once did she even apologize or try to fix it. Will not be returning. I should’ve forgotten to write down a tip, just like she forgot to write down our order

This place is really cool, there are TVs everywhere and the way everything is set up is really neat so the atmosphere is cool. The drinks are really good too from beer to margaritas and other drinks that they have. The food is the best part in my opinion, the pretzel things on the appetizer menu are really good and the mac n cheese with pulled pork was amazing, really good place to eat and one of my favorite places at the domain(SoDoSoPa)

Can I give it 3.5 stars? I’ve been here so many times for work happy hours. The appetizers are always good. Glorified chain restaurant bar food kind of stuff. The service getting drinks is debatable and they’re fairly expensive, so it’s not a place I would go on my own.

Current happy hour menu: $ 3 domestic Drafts $ 4 well drinks $ 5 Texas Spirits & House Wines $ 6 cocktails on tap $ 7 select flatbreads & apps Drinks are definitely worth going for happy hour. Food doesn’t feel like that much of a value at $ 7 but the flatbread are very tasty.

One of the better places to hang out with friends, dine, watch sports or people watch in The Domain. Recently, I have had the pleasure of working with Brett K for all my corporate and personal event needs. The level of service I’ve received has been nothing short of excellent! Brett finds out my needs and does her very best to exceed them each time. All my events have gone on without a hitch and that’s all I could ask for. I highly recommend Brett and the Blackfinn staff for all your event and Happy Hour needs. They all do a great job and deliver top notch service. Cheers, Blackfinn!

My co-workers highly recommended this place, I was a bit disappointed. I had the steak(strip I believe) and it was over cooked and lacked flavor, thus way ov. My service was on par, but nothing more. I did have to ask for refills on my water, but never on my beer. I sat at the bar, so I would have hoped the bar tender would have been more aware(it was pretty empty). Other foods that I saw served looked good, definitely above the typical bar food, but not the«gastro pub» uniqueness I was hoping for.

Had a great waiter, Leon(?)! The food was excellent and the environment was fun! It came highly recommended by my daughter and little sister. Glad we came! I had the lime seared salmon with asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes… Let me just say… OMG! Everyone at my table enjoyed their food! We will be back!

go shopping at the domain then rest those legs and enjoy a nice dinner here. best during patio season and has drink specials often. dress code from what i’ve seen: office casual and dressy casual. I enjoyed the blackened chicken alfredo, total comfort food. the shrimp and angel hair pasta was ok not bad or outstanding. skip ordering the corn salad, it is terrible. i love corn! but yeah… nooo pass on that. the bread slice was big but i love buttered bread. i just thought it looked funny and had to take a picture. «Can we get a bigger slice of bread please? I can still see my food and plate» Heads up; sometimes they have live music on the patio and the«stage» may be next to your head.

A group of us came to Blackfinn on a Friday afternoon for Happy Hour. Word of caution, parking can be brutal on a weekend so plan for that unless you valet which is available for $ 5. I really liked this restaurant. We started at the bar and our table was ready before we finished our first drink. The bar is equipped pretty extensively too. We were check on frequently and the bartenders had several suggestions when we inquired about certain mixed drinks and beers. I had the seared Ahi tuna app which was pretty good. Being picky I could have had the fish more chilled but it was a hot day and we were eating outside. The Mahi Mahi entrée was delicious. Friends said the flatbread and shrimp was amazing too. Our patio table service was also on par. We were checked on several times and our drinks were refilled before empty. Our server even fixed our table which wobbled a little.

Great place for anytime, especially Friday and Saturday nights there is always a live band, and they have misters on the patio which I love during these hot summers ! SPINACHANDARTICHOKE dip is great they give you peta bread with it that is mixed with a sweet batter, taste like a funnel cake and then you have the cheesy buttery dip ! Oh my ! Yum ! Wait staff was okay, the guy did pretty good for waiting half of the room, I think they were short staffed but it was a great time over all ! Enjoy !!!

Great ambience to watch the game or have happy hour! Good drink specials and great food. Even their steak is superb, but my favorite by FAR is the Skillet Mac and Cheese. SOAMAZING– best Mac and cheese I’ve found in Austin.

I went to Blackfinn Sunday evening with my boyfriend because he was craving fish and chips. Overall it was an ok experience and if someone were to pick the place I wouldn’t dread going there but I most likely wouldn’t choose it myself. The fish and chips was just one giant piece of fish that wasn’t that crispy and we thought it used to be multiple smaller and crisper pieces. I also got the ahi tuna with mixed vegetables and it was pretty tasty but prob not worth $ 22. The tuna came on rice cakes which were just smashed up rice in a circular shape. The service was good but the ambiance was just ok because it was almost completely empty inside. Outside looked a little nicer and had a lot more people and misters to keep you cool so maybe drinks or happy hour out there would be better.

We were at the Domain on a Thursday night before heading over to Topgolf and were in search for a happy hour and stumbled upon Blackfinn. We really wanted to be outside and found their patio inviting. We got a couple beers, 5 bucks for Texas craft during happy hour, which is alright but not the best around. What is cool about Thursday nights is they have an 11.99 craft beer and burger special which is actually a pretty solid deal, given their normal burger prices. I went for the ultimate bacon cheeseburger that had onion strings with a salad instead of fries, since you know, I have to watch my figure. The burger was fine, nothing crazy and at the end I was pretty happy to not have spent the full 12 bucks for just the burger. It was for sure busy during happy our on a thursday, service was good though slightly on the slow side. If we were back around the domain and in search of a happy hour, I think we would explore somewhere else before going back to Blackfinn.

I’m conflicted here. I wanted to love this place after looking at the menu, I was super excited to finally get to go after suggesting it as a lunch place for a while… but then it was just so… MEH. Also, I feel bad. I was just so hungry and tired that day, I didn’t feel like dealing with the hassle complaining or sending anything back, and maybe that would have given them a chance to redeem themselves. But… I just don’t see how I’m going to go back with so many options in the area, so here it is. It started out well with a seat on a very nice patio in great weather. Service was just fine — we didn’t wait too long for anything. Actually, that may have been my first mistake, I didn’t read the menu that well and just kind of pointed and said«that» because Joel W. was ready and we were both hungry. The fries we got were actually pretty awesome. They came with three dipping sauces and a perfect appetizer portion. I had high hopes for the rest. Then, our entrees came. I had the greek chicken salad, which I THOUGHT was off the lunch 9.99 $ menu, but I was charged 11.99 $ for it(it was on the non-lunch menu at that price as well, but I figured that since it was noon, I’d be charged lunch prices) which I didn’t notice until after paying. The chicken was TERRIBLE. It was the consistency of a shredded chicken sandwich, but absolutely tasteless, and had bits of… cartilage? Gristle? Chewy bits that made me a little bleh about finishing it, certainly. The salad itself was fine — nothing to write home about but edible. Joel said his fish tacos and mac n cheese was very MEH too but I’ll let him review that. Again, I left thinking I would give it another chance before I reviewed, but I don’t see myself coming back for a meal. From reading the reviews, where it sounds like this place shines is happy hour for drinks and apps. If I make it back I’ll probably try that angle and update with my experiences.

Something tasted«off» about my egg’s benedict and my boyfriend’s chicken tenders. The service was quick and friendly but we truly just did not enjoy the food. Nothing was appealing about it and both failed to eat more than half of it. Probably worth trying other options on the menu as other reviews seem to think the food tastes great.

I had a free night stay at the a hotel up in the Domain so we decided to make a day of it. We started out with lunch at the Blackfinn before checking in. I had been to the Blackfinn in Arlington, TX awhile back but it was only for happy hour. I was eager to try out their dining experience. Walking in the restaurant it sort of reminded me of an old Bennigan’s but a bit nicer I guess. We sat down and looked over the menu. We ordered drinks and I started out with the Orange crush — it was ok. I also had the Orange Bood Martini, which I enjoyed, but my favorite drink was the last — the Dragonberry Mojito … mmm! We ordered two appetizers — the crab cakes and the blackened brie. The crab cakes were — meh. They were OK I guess I just probably would not order them again. The blackened brie however was a winner and I would probably get this app on every visit. I loved the dried cranberries with the apples. The brie was excellent and the crispy bread piece added the perfect crunch to it. My main entrée I ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf. It came with a sweet potato mash and asparagus. The meet loaf was OK. The meat was moist, but I was left feeling like it needed some sort of sauce on it … a balsamic vinegar sauce would have paired perfectly with it. The sides were good. My fiancé said his shrimp and grits were pretty good he was just confused why they used different size shrimp throughout. They give 2 of the really big ones and then the rest are pretty small. Seems a little cheap is you ask me and the dish was close to being about $ 20. We also ordered the pulled pork mac n cheese because we could not resist. We ended up taking this back to our hotel and enjoying it after the bar and it was great heated up as left overs. Our server was OK as well. There were times I was wishing she would have come my more often because I needed another drink. I felt like for the amount of money we spent eating here I could have had a more desirable experience somewhere else, but none the less I did enjoy my dining experience here — A-OK.
