Tammy Dunda was easy to talk to and listened to my needs. I could tell we were on the same page throughout my haircut and she exceeded my expectations. Now my hairstyle is finally making me look and feel like my best self. I really liked the online scheduling system which has bios listed for the hairdressers. Plus, you can select add on services like a brow wax at the same time, so you can maximize your salon visit and come out looking gorgeous. I was able to get an appointment for the next day which was a relief for those times when you’ve just got to get your hair cut as soon as possible. If you’re looking for someone new, I highly suggest booking an appointment with Tammy. Trying out a new hairdresser can be hit or miss, but thankfully I lucked out this time and will definitely be a return customer!

My stylist, Emali Perkins, moved here when the Wildflower Aveda salon closed. She is the best! Great, natural-looking blonde highlights. She cuts hair very well too. I think this is the best my hair has looked! I have gotten several compliments, some from random strangers. She is also very sweet and easy to talk to. If you are looking for awesome highlights, go see Emali!

My favorite stylist(Cristina Lopez) is now at Beauty Store and Salon, Bee Caves. She is an expert with color; with many years of experience. She takes the time to understand what you want and listen. While I have shopped at this store a few times I’m not terribly familiar with the front staff. My limited interaction has always been good. If I have questions they are helpful.

Went to «stylist» Stephanie today who was 20 minutes late(and we had arrived 10 minutes early so my daughter, who was seeing«S» for the first time, would have a short consult before the hair cutting. The receptionist said, «Stephanie will be a little late,» and was also, generally rude and dismissive when I asked them fifteen minutes in, if they knew how long she would be. When Stephanie waltzed in(carrying a six pack of water), she didn’t introduce herself to my daughter and me nor say she was sorry for being late. When i told her, «Do you know you were 20 minutes late?» she gives me an attitude and says, «It is not MY fault. I went to the doctor for allergy shots and I had to wait.» What happened to customer service? Instead of introducing herself, saying she was so sorry we had to wait, and perhaps offering a discount for our inconvenience(we had to make a dentist appt. and would thus be late for that too), she has the gall to be annoyed because I mentioned her tardiness. She gave my daughter a quick cut and blow dry and then charged $ 60 — and the cut amounted to a bang and split end trim! The front staff and the stylist sucked! Stay away!

BOYCOTT the Westbank Beauty Store. This is place that RECOMMENDED the shampoo for me while I was standing there with my obviously golden highlights that turned my hair PINK! The manager has been nothing short of rude and abusive, making excuses and no apologies. I cannot tolerate rudeness in a store.

I’ve been going to this location for a few years, and while I’m not a frequent customer by any stretch of the imagination, I am a pleased customer. There’s a pretty high turnover in hair stylists — in the last year, two people that cut my hair moved to other salons — but they’ve all been good, competent stylists. The only time I had a problem was when a color job was more pink than auburn, but I went back and it was taken care of free of charge. This is not the cheapest salon in town. I think the people who work there are contractors, so the prices might vary, but pedicures and hair cuts are both $ 60. The pedicure is very nice and includes hot wax. So I keep coming back here, because the location is so close and I’ve had good experiences. There might be better places in town, but if they’re not convenient to get to I’ll probably never try them!

My favorite of the 3BSSS locations because of their selection and variety of fun gifty items. The verdict is still out on this Austin outfit, but I have already cast my ballot in favor of Beauty Store. You’ll hear mixed reviews, but I love the place. Beauty Store Salon & Spa is three businesses under one very busy roof. BSSS on Bee Caves(in Westbank Market) caters to the upscale Westlake crowd with their enviable selection of hair and body products, cosmetics, miscellaneous toiletries, trinkets and gifts. The Beauty Stores are just fun. There’s really no word that more accurately describes the experience. Fun, relaxing, easy to browse.(I’ll go ahead and make a sweeping generalization here… guys, I don’t think you’d love this place…) My favorite thing about this Beauty Store is its unique and nearly unrivaled selection of magnets. Hilarious sayings, fun horoscopes, and specialty pieces. A strange thing to find at a beauty store slash hair salon slash day spa, but then again, it’s Austin. BSSS is no B.S. Definitely worth a visit.
