Bananarchy

Oh my. To say we liked our bananas from Bananarchy would be an understatement. They were SO. GOOD. We got three different half bananas: one dipped in chocolate, rolled in toffee, one dipped in vanilla, rolled in M&Ms, and one dipped in chocolate, rolled in graham crackers. Each one of them was delicious. Just divine. We can’t wait to come back!

There’s always money in the banana stand! I LOVE this place. It reminds me of Arrested Development and I can get a delicious semi healthy dessert? Sign me up! And now that they are at 53^rd street I could walk over for a Gob any time I want.

Delicious frozen bananas! Got a Joe Banana and Afternoon Delight. Both so refreshing. Cute chairs with tent covers over them and fans so you can relax.

This was a very nice find. My fiancé and I loved it! The bananas are delicious but I mean seriously. Who doesn’t love a good frozen banana on a hot Texas day?! We will be back

This review is for Bananarchy’s catering services at my wedding on 4÷16÷16. We had a casual, cocktail-​style reception. Mostly high-​top tables, no assigned seating, with food and dessert services running throughout the party. We wanted a dessert option at our wedding that was NOT cake, Austin-​y, delicious, easy to serve, and offered options for all of our guests with dietary restrictions. We also needed something that fit our budget.
We looked at a few different options, but most just were not a good value and some had negative reviews that didn’t sit well with us. I’ve always loved Bananarchy but my then-​fiancé had never tried them and was skeptical. His experience with frozen bananas was that they were often too frozen to eat, made a mess, and just weren’t very interesting. He changed his mind when he tried one at Banarachy — they are the perfect consistency, the dippings and toppings are quality, they are prepared well, and the service is excellent. Not only was he cool with having Bananarchy at our wedding, we made an attempt to get a banana every time they had a an odd opening during their off-​season. I want one right now actually.
Laura and Kelsey at Bananarchy were so easy to work with. They were flexible, friendly and responsive. We paid them in full upfront, and when we had a reduction in guests, they were happy to make up the different with extra toppings. We were worried that service might take too long for our 150 guests since it can take a few minutes to get a banana normally at their food truck, but they assured us that would not be the case at our event and they were right. Service moved fast! Also, this is a GREAT value for a made-​to-​order dessert option. The price is right.
Many of our guests had the same experience my now-​husband had. They went in with low expectations and came away big fans. No one was disappointed that there wasn’t cake, and many appreciated something different. Our lactose-​sensitive friends were happy. Our health-​conscious friends felt a little easier. Some people went crazy with their bananas, some went simple. We made the right choice.
I’ll also note that our catering service was Veracruz All Natural. We felt like the combination of made-​to-​order Veracruz tacos and Bananarchy frozen bananas were a perfect marriage.

I went to this place twice during my stay in Austin and it was amazing. You need to go and try it.

This place makes me wanna eat bananas for desert. I sorta feel healthy! Hurrah! They take cash and card which is convenient, and finding parking isn’t hard. Relaxing outside sitting and pretty scenery. I’ve never been an enormous fan of bananas but this place might change my mind! :) Lots of combos to chose from, and vegan options too! Yum!

Hot damn this place is amazing!
As someone who really hasn’t had any good experiences with frozen bananas, this food truck turned my thoughts about the whole thing a complete 180.
Prices are reasonable and the service is extremely friendly! At some point in my life I want to come back and try all the bananas because they have out there flavors like «chocolate coffee», «peanut butter, vanilla, chocolate dipped with nuts» and their version of the «everything» with 4 different dippings and 11 different toppings.
For all those who are concerned, yes the vegan chocolate is great and I like it and I’m not vegan!
Go ahead and give this place a try you will not regret it!

First customers on opening day with no one else around! Wow. If you don’t want to stand in line, head to the 53^rd Street location. Well, until every other person in Austin hears about the new location.
Had a Halfie of the Texas Two Step. A Frozen nanner dipped in chocolate, with toffee pieces, pecans, cinnamon and peanut butter drizzle. Yeehaw! Felt like two-​steppin’ after eating this delicious bit of cowboy heaven.

I’ve been to Bananarchy several times over the last few years and it is fabulous. The bananas are better than ice cream and the Arrested Development references on the menu are hilarious. If you want a perfect Austin pairing, go to Barton Springs on a hot day and then go get a frozen banana. I love the chocolate peanut butter banana with M&Ms.
