Came here last Sunday for lunch. Had to try the trio of fries after reading all the Unilocal reviews. They lived up to the hype, especially the parmesan fries which were decadent. Also had one of the veggie sandwiches in a toasted pita wrap and it was sooooo good! Best pesto I’ve ever had. Delicious! Will surely go back!

A good place for a business lunch or a Friday afternoon team«brainstorming» session. Very brightly lit, with lots of space between tables. Decent selection of microbrews; if you’re local favorite probably is not on tap, something almost as good is. I had the soup and sandwich combo. To be honest, the chili will not be ordered again. It was not the presence of beans, but the lack of flavor. The Getty on a French roll, on the other hand was excellent. The only thing that could have made it a tish better would be to replace the«chicken breast»(actually deli sliced chicken) with an actual chicken breast. The pesto mayo was excellent, and combines well with the marinated tomatoes, spinach, feta and provolone. Service staff was friendly and helpful. While my evening choices tend towards more of a darker, cozier ambiance than the bright and airy feel of the Terrier, it’s a fun place for a business lunch and/or Saturday afternoon dranksin’ on the deck with a group of friends.

Mixed review here. I ended up meeting a legal colleague of mine here for a working lunch. Would I come back? Probably. I did like the pizza with the whole wheat crust and liked it. Our waitress was also friendly and efficient and she knew the menu really well. Negatives: First, they seem to have a problem with a lunch rush. When I first showed up, there was a wait and the waitress seating people told me she’d take care of me next and not to sign in. Then when she disappeared, the next two large groups of ladies who lunch were seated ahead of me because they signed in. The owner was helping and he came over to apologize, but the lack of a dedicated hostess and the haphazard wait list started the meal off wrong. Next, it would’ve been nice not to have to ask for sweetener with my tea.(A lemon would’ve been nice too.) On a final note, Texas chili doesn’t come with beans. It’s a nice place with a great menu and cute décor — but the lack of other great dining options nearby mean that some flubs are tolerated more than they should be. Like I said, I’ll probably give them another try, hopefully when they’re less busy.

Everything is pretty basic besides the customer service. The fry trio was huge as was the $ 8 price tag. For 2 people this was way too much. The seasoning on the truffle fries was bulky. The other flavors nothing special. I ordered a chicken sandwich. This is where i take major issue and the fault could be my own BUT cold cuts does not a chicken sandwich make! Cold cuts of chicken… i dont go out to eat for that… Turkey? ham? Yes. So dissapointed in the quality of the meat as well. Cheap, which the retail price does not reflect. The only thing i ate that left a positive impression was the greek salad. So good! And fresh! so i will be back but with a lighter appetite… id be hard pressed to try anything else.

Dog friendly! The beer selection is small but varied and the pizza is the thing to eat. The sandwiches are not quite as filling, and the fries trio is just OK but great to share as it’s got a combination for everyone. Plenty of space indoors for the dog-less and kid corralling with a few TVs for sports watching.

Love this place. It’s in the hood, food is great, the beer is fresh and they love kids and dogs! The service is great and they make it so easy for families with little kids. You get to meet the neighborhood families that frequent this place. It’s very chill and they don’t raise eyebrows at kids being kids. I will definitely be going here a lot. And the pizza is great. The spicy terrier is yummy! I do wish they had a few more items like soups and pastas but frankly no complaints.

I tried this place because Unilocal said that they had a great grilled cheese sandwich so naturally I was really excited to try it. I ordered to go because I was leaving work and wanted to pick up food for dinner. When I got into my car I begin to eat some of the fries which on the pictures look amazing, but in the bag they were super super greasy, even greasier then McDonald’s fries. When I got home the sandwich was okay. But after taking one big bite I felt this tough stringy sensation in my mouth, ‘I literally just gagged thinking about this moment’ Yuck! It was a hair, a hair was in my food and snuggled in between the cheeses and half in my mouth. I threw away the food and my money, I haven’t tried their pizza even though it looks good but next time I go I think I’ll just order a beer and be content.

My friend and I had a lunch date here with two babies and my pretty big dog. That’s A LOT of work haha! The staff was very accommodating and very sweet to the kids and the pooch. Our server Alyssa was amazing. Sweet, attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu and the beer selection. All of her suggestions were great and the food was amazing. My dog had fries ;-), the kids split a PB&J and I had the Dancer(I forget what my friend had but she loved it) and we split the parm/truffle fries. So good! Jamie, the owner, came out to greet us and was so nice to the babies. It means a lot when you know your kids(who are making a huge mess dispite trying to keep things clean) are totally welcome at an establishment. We will definitely be back. The patio was perfect for our little crew of hooligans!

We had the best time! Our server, Alyssa, was so friendly and attentive. She gave us such wonderful recommendations for food. I had the buddy chicken sandwich. Mmm… garlic mayo. This is our new family restaurant. Austin Beerworks on tap was the icing on the cake. Thanks for a great time, Austin Terrier!

I’m actually writing an update because after going my first time last Saturday — I have since been back twice with friends. Which can only mean that this place is solid! I live in the neighborhood and I see this becoming a regular thing. Definitely get the French fry appetizer, the Toro or ½ priced wine bottles Monday nights. Wha!!!

We were on a trip to Austin and felt very hungry then found this place by searching dog friendly restaurant on Unilocal.Glad we decided to come here. :D We got trio fries, grilled cheese and my hubby got a roasted beef sandwich(I forgot which one). Trio fries is the best, so if you ever want to visit this place, you must get it!

Came here after hearing good things about it but I was definitely a bit disappointed by the service(or lack thereof). It didn’t take long for the hostess to sit us down when we arrived, but from then on getting ahold of a waiter was a challenge everytime. It looked like they were heavily understaffed, which just leads me to believe management is pretty bad. We had 2 – 3 different waiters for some reason, one took our drink, one came by to ask us(again) for our drink, and a third that brought our food and check. So confused the whole time, and it didn’t help that none of them knew what type of beers the ones they have on draft — all they could tell me were the names. We also asked for water from two waiters, one of them twice, but we never got any during the whole 30+ minutes we were there. Seriously? The pizza was pretty good, but not amazing, much like the prices, but that was certainly not enough to compensate for the bad service.

Seriously though… no happy hour? That should be a cardinal sin for any pizza and beer place to not have. I was also underwhelmed by their ‘dog-friendliness’ — with a name like Austin Terrier I thought that dogs might be allowed inside or at least offered treats. Unfortunately it’s in the rules that you can’t feed your dog, period. That all aside, the food and service were good. The parmesan fries with truffle mayo are a definite standout — I would say they’re comparable to Hopdoddy’s(which are damn good!).

November Update: I’m bumping this from 3 to 4 stars. I’ve been back a few times for to-go and dine-in orders and have not gotten sick again. I’ve been trying to avoid the avocado since that was the original suspect and I have to say everything I’ve tried is a winner. The Peyton so far was my favorite. Review from August: I just moved around the corner from this place and I’ve been trying to go to all the restaurants near me instead of my Austin favorites. The artisan french bread was the best choice I ever made. I got a grilled cheese and tomato soup. The avocado in my grilled cheese was green and perfectly fresh and it dipped so well in my tomato soup. I wished the soup was creamier, but that’s my personal preference. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich that had avocado and also on the french bread, but his sandwich was served cold. We both finished our plates and raved about the food. The following day(today) we both are sick. Classic case of food poisoning, but the food was so good, I’ll give them another shot. For now, 3 stars, but I hope I can update this positively.

Been to this place three times now and I will be back more. I work nearby so this is a great lunch spot for me. It is an industrial yet playful feel there. There have great local beers on tap and there staff always seats me right away. Oh and the outside seating is very nice as well! I love their pizza, I havent gotten to ordering anything else yet. Not too much dough and just enough of every ingredient. I had the willie pizza and the Tasso pizza. Love that they aren’t stingy with their ingredients. Both pizzas were as excellent as the beer I had to wash it down with!

If you;re looking for a good sandwich place in Austin, this is must. They have a variety of turkey, beef, chicken and veggie sandwiches that will satisfy anyone’s palette. They also serve pizza, which I haven’t ever tried(their sandwiches are just too good to pass up), and they have awesome french fries. I’ve tried the truffle Parmesan fries(best fries I’ve EVER had) and the paprika fries. The ambiance is family friendly, and they also have a pretty decent selection of draft beers. Also, they are very pet friendly, and have a large patio out front where you can eat and take your dog.

If you are looking for a great sandwich, look no further! This place is slammin! I tried their«Logan» sandwich. This is a steak sandwich that is marinated in an Adobo sauce garnished with a red wine onion reduction. Tons of flavor happening in every bite! I ordered the truffle and parmesan fries on the side. I must say these are the best fries I have ever had. My girl ordered the«Buffy» sandwich. The melted brie pairs really well with the Roast Beef! The first time my girl and I went, the hostess was not in the best of moods. She looked like she did not want to be there. We all have those days, I get it. But I usually stay home if I’m having that kind of day. Anyway, shortly after being seated, our waiter came over and welcomed us, took our order and seemed friendly. The food came out in a timely manner and the tastiness of my meal completely made my day!

I come here often as it is a local neighborhood joint for me. I love the people and service, but the pizza just isn’t the same as it used to be. I don’t know what happened, but my husband even agrees that the overall pizza quality went from great to just OK. Definitely pass on the burgers. We still love the salads and sandwiches here though(lettuce wrapped for gluten free), and the sweet potato fries. Also, they have a nice small outdoor patio area that is dog friendly.

Came here with a friend after work on a weekday. It wasn’t very busy when I got there and I was seated right when I came in the door. They have a good selection of beer and they have some cool items on the menu. I ended up getting a PearlSnap and we also got the Trio of Fries along with the Spicy Terrier. The fries were very good, and they were cooked the perfect amount, not mushy and not too crunchy. The sauces that came with them were pretty good too. The pizza was really good as well. It had a bit of a kick to it because of the jalapeños which was awesome. Overall this place was pretty good. Solid selection of food and drinks. I will try this place again in the future.

Walking up to Austin Terrier you can tell this place is going to be fun and that you are going to have a good time. The ambience is open and inviting, clean and well managed. As the name hints, this place is pet friendly and has a big outdoor patio section perfect for relaxing in the Austin sun(not that we have seen much of it recently) with a delicious sandwich and ice cold pint. This joint focuses on deliciously handcrafted sandwiches, fresh salads, and let us not forget, pizzas. Sandwiches are named, and rightfully so as they each have unique, tasty personalities. My «dining companion» for my last visit was Buffy, a roast beef and brie sandwhich served with garlic mayo and dijon mustard. The garlic mayo wasn’t too overpowering, so be careful if you need to slay some vampires afterwards. All the flavors were deliciously well executed and beautiful on the plate as well. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in their creations. My only complaint(and this is a minor one at that) is the portions are a bit on the small end. This is probably for the best really, but if you are pretty hungry I suggest adding a side such as fries to share with the table. Besides, everyone likes the guy who shares his fries.
