This is a decent production lot if you’re looking to save some budget. Much cheaper than studios in California, but better quality facilities than what is in Canada or Louisiana. Trust me, I’ve regretted every project I took north of the border. The local production talent you’ll find here is pretty good. The infrequency of larger budget films makes it difficult to retain the hot shots, so you will likely need to bring in your own sound crew & lighting principals and put them up in hotels during your entire shoot. There is a good chance you’ll bump into Robert Rodriguez while you’re in the offices. Feed his ego by telling him how great of a scene he’s built here and compliment him on keeping it real. He gobbles that up and this is how you get introduced to his candyman. That’s where local connections pay off exponentially on a multi-month film shoot.
