Under new management… Dining room has 6 large TV’s now that play sports or Fox News, this is totally bad for conversation. They should not have messed with the old vibe, that’s what made it cool. Prices have gone up, no beer specials. C’mon guys, why? If I wanted to go to a sports bar I would have.

Ordered my pizza here, sitting at the bar waiting on it! It was a last minute decision, so if they prove themselves worthy of repeat business I’ll be calling it in next time. The bathrooms in this joint are awesome, nice CLEAN, rustic décor. The whole place has a rustic vibe. It’s noon on a Sunday and the place is kinda dead. They have a bar with a tv playing sports for the regs I suppose. Combination of wines, margaritas, and beer. They only have two pizza sized, regular and large. Flavor review coming soon… Parking is plentiful! Update: More toppings that I’m used to! It was hot and fresh and moderately flavorful. I like my pizza smothered in tomato sauce and this pizza was NOT that.

We ordered pizza and salad. The pizza was good, it could have stood in oven a tad bit longer, but the ingredients were fresh, and it was assembled well. The salad was sub par, it was watered-down and soggy. In addition, they don’t deliver but use a delivery service, if you use the delivery service your food comes cold, so we picked up.

Place has great service, our server Jacob was awesome. But the pizza was overpriced and mediocre. On a 10 inch pizza with six slices we only got five pieces of shrimp. Really skimped out on the shrimp. All in all, I’ll go to mods pizza next time.

My husband and I love this place. We order takeout every Friday evening. I’m a vegetarian and have lots of good choices — my favorite is the Basilica, although I add spinach and ask them to go light on the pesto — they can get a little heavy with it. My husband doesn’t eat pork, so he likes the steak strips. Where else can you get a pizza with steak strips? Friendly and helpful staff, lovely old building if you’re eating in. Huge Caesar salad.

This is one of my 2 favorite pizza places in the Austin area. It is pricier than the el cheapo and standard chains, but it is delicious in my humble opinion. Traffic can be a bear, but there is plenty of parking. The lunch is a nice little deal with a side salad, but the specialty salads are excellent and really work well in the evening. After all these years I still recommend the Colossus(with Jalapenos substituted for green bell peppers), and an antipasto or spinach salad with their house vinaigrette. If it is out of your price range, just save up and then do it to it! We have always had good service from friendly wait staff. Yum! They now have delivery during the week, and it is changing to a new and improved service that should be even better. However, it tastes best there, right out of the oven.

Another Austin original bites the dust. The restaurant still exists, same pizza, different owner, different menu and slightly higher prices. Some of you may not understand or agree, but what has happened to APG is tragic. Much of the unique charm of the place has been lost and replaced with a relatively sterile environment. New large screen televisions have invaded the dining area and as much of the historic part of the restaurant has been covered up as possible. Without the televisions, tables use to converse at APG and often table to table(yes, with strangers). APG has gone from a warm, eclectic place to take guests to just another one-off pizza joint. I hope the new owner’s are successful and the restaurant becomes more profitable. It’s always nice to see local business owners thrive, but they’ll be doing it largely without my support. I have officially become a crotchety old man …

The staff are awesome, but even that pales in comparison to the small Greek salad and bread sticks! The house dressing, a balsamic Italian was very tasty! The word small is a misnomer… I made 2 meals of this. I will definitely make return trips to try other things on their menu!

This is a great all around pizza place, one of the best in Austin. We come here often because of the great service and healthy portions. The only drawback is that the interior design is wanting, with rickety chairs and dusty décor. But it is a cool historic building and the pizza is superb, so you don’t mind your table rocking as you dive in!

This peaceful, cozy pizzeria tucked into an old stone house is a tasty delight for any family occasion. The sandwiches are all delicious and the atmosphere makes one feel like they are in an old country lodge. The fireplace is great for winter dining and the staff is friendly and attentive. Craving pizza, salad and Italian sandwich? This is the spot!

Love this place! It’s such a drive to go here but there isn’t anything that I don’t like about this place. There is great pizza options, I love love the lunch specials here! They have this nice little salad with the cucumber dressing which is really good! The pizza is so tasty and flaky. There are different lunch specials for each day of the week. Monday and Friday’s are my go to days. The service is fast and friendly for in and out days for lunches.

Ok I have to rewrite my review for the sake honesty and awesemity on the part of APG…(original review under the line way down below) So, not going to gloss again over how I found this place… we’ll start with the fact that I am travelling on a very tight budget so I ordered the lunch special pizza($ 6), which was big enough for like a mouse when it came to the appetite I was carrying around today… so I left with a $ 30 tab for taking with me a large Colussus… who leaves with more food than they ate at lunch lol… this guy becuase I probably won’t get to come back again any time soon or ever…*tears on my keyboard* I want to preach the gospel that is APG and let people know what they are getting into, and do it as best as I can… because I’ve only had two pizza places blow my mind in my entire life, Lento’s in Brooklyn and dun dun dun, this place. The crust The crust, holy shit the crust, the crust is so good I could die. It’s perfect. Perfection. It’s crispy and crunchy and has like no overpowering flavor or dryness, it’s light and melds perfectly with the cheese and meat and can stand up to the grease, and it’s thin and not doughy and nasty. My pizza aged nicely ANDTHECRUSTISSTILLSTRONGENOUGHTOSUPPORTTHETOPPINGS. The toppings If you read my original review, you’ll see I mentioned how they’re not at all stingy with the toppings… even more so applicable on the full size pies. I have so much on it it’s like topping heaven. The cheese is just so good and real, and delicious and real. The toppings are piled on top of each other, I can taste all of them and they kick my mouth’s ass(ew) and just *cries*…so good. So effin good… The box I had to eat the box… because the pizza was gone… jk… Eat here if you like what I have described. If you like doughy greasy-pooled crap-pizza, then I imagine you can find that in Austin. Why did I add to this review? Because I as traveled around for business through the day and nibbled at my pizza, I realized just how amazing this pizza is… I ate it from deathly-hot fresh from the oven, starting to cool, now it’s no longer shiny, now lukewarm, kinda hard but still soft and yum, to now it’s cold and lifeless and the flavor has ripened even further and it’s amazing and you want to eat it even more and now I am rambling because I am thinking about how awesome it was and wish I had more… damn. ______________________________________________________________________ Some of the best Damn pizza… I was told by the fellas at Reds indoor range, 500ft away, that this place is the place for pizza… itisholyshit I had the lunch special, got a colossus minus green peppers bleh, and the angels sang… Not at all stingy with toppings, insane crust, excellent cheese. Eat here at your own risk… I’m sad this will be my only time to have this fine pizza, Damn you business trips, Damn you.

Service — Waiter was on top of his stuff, even though it wasn’t busy. Ambiance — We love this place, it has such a homely feel. This was our 2nd time. Food — It’s some of the best pizza around. Got lunch this time, and the lunch special is amazing!

Had the weirdest experience ever, like seriously. Went there a few days ago with the boyfriends household(5 of us). We tried to go to Via 313 but the line was too long so we thought we would try something new. We arrived, we asked for a table for 5. Now here is where it gets weird, real weird. The place wasn’t terribly busy, yet we were told to wait just a bit for them to clear a table. Okay, no problem! So we wait, and wait, and then waited some more. We were all just awkwardly standing around then migrated to the waiting room, then to the bar, one of the 5 got a beverage, the rest of us just got waters. The people were nice they kept saying that a table was almost ready. But then we noticed other pairs and groups of 3 come in after us and get seated right away. The host kept saying our table was almost ready. So about 45 minutes go by, we are all starving and we are so confused as so why we keep seeing people leave but yet we are not being seated.(None of us had been there so we didn’t even think to go look in the dining hall) Finally after 45 minutes we go in and are seated, we all decided to order while we were seated at the bar because we were starving. As we walk into the dining hall we notice IT’S HALFEMPTY! LIKEWHAT?! Tons of empty tables! We were waiting 45 minutes for 1 of 4 tables they have that seats 6 people! No one thought to take 2 of their normal 4 person tables and put them together. We have all never been so confused, we even checked the tables to make sure they could be physically moved, they can. So do they have some rule that doesn’t allow them to put tables together?! I mean we are all very low maintenance folks, we would have settled with a 4 person table and pulled up an extra chair. It was just odd. Experience was weird, Pizza was okay. Nothing life changing. The building is neat. The staff was nice.

I love, love, LOVE the pizza here. We have been coming here for 10 years and prefer it over any other pizza joint in Austin. I would have given it five stars except their wine selection stinks. I am not sure why they cannot get better wines on their list. Pizza — — excellent! Wine — — not so much. PS I want to add that they have excellent lasagna as well. Wine — bad

Decent pizza in a historic building, with beers and occasional live music! And a huge parking lot — which always makes me happy! Can get busy — we had to wait 20 minutes for a table!

The building looks really old since it’s like a stone building? The food? 6.5÷10. The food was pretty good but it’s not enough to warrant me to come back here for pizza. The ingredients seemed fresh, and the portion sizes were huge. Service? 8⁄10. Seated promptly, got water, waiters came to get our orders. Try this place if it’s conveniently close to you, but I wouldn’t drive out of my way to come here. I used to live 5 minutes away from this place, so it was a convenient place for me to get some pizza.

This place is a time warp back to the 80’s from the look of the stone building, to the décor, chairs and booths that look like they are out of a Pizza Hut. I got the salad with chicken, black beans, tortilla strips, cheese and spicy tomatillo dressing. The dressing was more like guacamole consistency than dressing, but at least was somewhat flavorful and spicy. The salad was humongous and was basically 2 meals worth and had roughly an entire chicken breast sliced up as well. It really wasn’t bad, but it was pretty boring. This is the type of place you go with your grandparents. Quiet, affordable, with average food at best. Ho hum.

Coming from someone who is dairy free and rarely eats pizza, this place really impressed me. I saw that they had goat cheese and ordered that on my garden veggie pizza. I was pleased with the quality and toppings. They cook their pizza with slices of avocado on it! I was skeptical about this but it actually added a nice richness. The starter salad was nothing to write home about. We arrived right at 10:55am for the Monday lunch special and were the first costumers in the restaurant. Unfortunately, they messed up our orders and we had to wait over 35 minutes to get our food. As you can imagine, we had work to get back to and didn’t have enough time to even finish our food there. Although it wasn’t our waitresses fault, we received no apology. We also got upcharged for a few Things which caused some issues. Overall, food was good, maybe not worthy of going out of your way although the lunch special is a great deal. This place can really improve by training their staff better and working on their costumer service. It’s the little things, people.
