If you’ve ever wanted to take a cooking class at Whole Foods, but were a little iffy about the $ 70 price tag, you should check out Austin Healthy Cooking! I took Chef Roy’s FREE Artesian Bread Class. He made delicious all natural mint tea for us to enjoy(you’re also welcome to bring a bottle of wine or other beverages)! He showed us how to use some cool gadgets, and whipped us up chipotle pasta with chicken and veggies for lunch. The pasta(made onsite) is wonderful, by the way: fresh, fun flavors and everything is made from real veggies and fresh ground flours(whole wheat, even). No powdered stuff here. You can find it at farmer’s markets as well as at the shop. There were lots of samples throughout, and when the class is done, you get to take some of his creations home. I chose the olive basil bread. Yum! He also offered a discount on his already-reasonably priced pasta. Please support this locally owned business.

I found this cool little shop today. The owner was helpful. He had a variety of gluten free items. He offered free grinding of grains for flour. I bought some handmade pasta. I can’t wait to try it. I look forward to taking some of the free cooking classes.
