Around the Corner Store

I go here every single day, the people there know exactly what I want when I go there, and if I ask them about getting something knew that they don’t have in stock they usually have it in a matter of days.

I filled my gas here and four days later my car completely died. The mechanic informed me that my car had water contamination, which came from their gas lines. This repair is costing me over $ 275. I’ve tried contacting the company but the owner is not available.
I would just like to be reimbursed for their faulty gasoline. And two days before Christmas nonetheless. =/​Such a huge, huge bummer.

oh, corner store. thanks for always having a smile on your face when i clumsily walk in at 7am every single morning for a giant ass diet coke. i mean, like the big one that i’ve nicknamed «My soda baby.»
thanks for always having a wicked awesome selection of beer and wine. and snacks for the kids.
oh, corner store, the best part about you? when i check my bank account, it says «Around the Corn» as my credit card charge. every time i see it, i smile.
I’d I would improve you Around the Corner Store at all, I would ask that you have diesel. My 30 year old Mercedes needs a super close gas station.

Pretty fancy wine selection if you ask me:)

This is my favorite convience store in Austin. I can always find what I’m looking for and not feel like I just got taken advantage of by a marked up price.
In addition, as other reviewers have stated, they have an excellent wine and beer selection. I think the beer selection is better than King Liquor’s selection across the street and HEB on Burnett.
The only bad thing is, Salim is gone. That makes me very sad.

I second the other review: They have a great beer & wine selection. I like the cheap $ 5.99 package of four 1-​serving bottles of wine. They have a better selection of those than the HEB down the street on Burnet where I do my grocery shopping.
However, my favorite item carried by the Around the Corner store is the Sunday New York Times. Do you have any idea what a drag it is try to find Sunday’s NYT? I started subscribing because I couldn’t rely on any place to carry it, except for Pacha, and I loathe that place, so I was stuck. But this mighty corner store has it! I dropped my subscription!
It also has a couple of gas pumps that’re great if you’re heading in that direction and need to get some gas real quick.
The only drawback is I can’t quite figure out their hours…

Around the Corner Store is the best lil’ gasoline/​convenience store in Austin! And the best clerk is Salim (sp?), who you can talk to about anything and everything. My friend, Chumpo, told Salim all about his love woes and Salim remembered all the details and asked him about how things were going the next time he came in. How’s that for real neighborly service?
Besides the friendly folk who work there, they also have lots of good beer & wine from higher end to lower end (Coppola, Ravenswood, Fat Bastard). And, they stock a ridiculously wide selection of incense. What more could you ask for?
