1020 Glass Art & Decor

I have bought many gifts here, as well as a few things for myself. I wouldn’t normally go into a store like this, but I’m glad I wandered in. They have an enormous selection. A few items have some practical use, such as wine stoppers, but most are decorative. Prices range a lot. The staff is extremely helpful and not at all pushy. They wrap the items very securely. A good experience all around. The gifts have been very well received!

We had our spectacular chandelier hung today and it has brought the room to life! Alex (male) was so helpful in ordering our piece of art and I called him several times today with questions which he graciously answered. We received delivery the exact time we were told to expect it and the packing was unlike anything I’ve ever received.
The instructions for assembly were very good. The hookup was easy but the hanging of the horns did take awhile. However, it was a labor of love. I will visit their store the next time I’m in Austin.

Beautiful glass & a very helpful staff. We were looking for a birthday gift and found a great bowl for a friend.

I went there to get a birthday gift for my wife, who likes glass. The selection was fantastic and in all price ranges, so I had a hard time making a decision, as did another couple who was in at the same time. I was told they had recently received a shipment which may explain the wide selection. In any case, the person working there was very pleasant and helpful. If you’re looking for glass from local and regional artists, they do not carry much, but, again, the selection was great. I’d highly recomment 1020.

I was here today to use a Groupon that I had. I had looked on their website prior to coming here and was excited about all the shiny! pretty! beautiful! glass art they had. I was especially ogling their hand-​blown glass chandeliers, but they were a wee bit out of my price range (starting from $ 1,000!)
Their store is located conveniently next to BarChi (which has an excellent happy hour, btw) in the heart of the 2^nd St. shopping district (which is full of swanky boutiques). But what sets 1020 apart from said swanky boutiques is that they have something for everyone. Yes, that’s right. They have beautiful, hand-​crafted glass flowers for about $ 12 each. They were so, so pretty but I knew I’d probably break them just by looking at them. They would be great gifts for a special occasion, say, Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day. Also, they have some nifty tealight holders for $ 18-​$ 25. They even have perfume bottles and gaudy oversized glass diamonds. Bling bling! Eat your heart out, Kim Kardashian!
In the end, I decided to get two of the hanging tealight holders, and the salesman wrapped them up real nice. Speaking of the salesman, he was so nice and didn’t make me feel like a peasant for using a Groupon. He was very friendly and not pushy like other salespeople at boutiques. So definitely go to 1020 next time you need a special gift for any occasion. Or if you just want to treat yourself to something nice.
