Vans Shoes

I’ve always loved this Vans store, but, just within the last two years, I’ve begun to appreciate it more and more. The one thing I think should be said to anyone looking to purchase a pair of Vans: you might be able to find the same pair for less at another store – sometimes even a few inside the very same mall; you won’t even have to get in your car to save yourself ten bucks. My suggestion is that you look at other shoe stores, and again, you might find them at a few locations for less inside Westfield Mall, but you’ll see that the other stores carry what is pretty much the same selection of Vans as the others. This more ‘mainstream’ collection is usually the Vans that are on the more traditional/​conservative side, so the Vans store is always a great place to find several different kinds of shoes that you won’t find anywhere else; I should also mention that you’ll almost always find several pairs here that are on sale for a pretty good price.
As far as the selection of shoes goes, I don’t even know where another Vans store is so I don’t have anything to compare, but it’s probably about 30 or so pairs for men, and not much less for women. It’s a great selection in that you’ll find shoes here you won’t find at other shoe stores, but I do wish I would see more of the fun and funkier pairs of shoes that they carry online – some of my favorite pairs of vans I had to purchase online. They also carry a nice selection of apparel, which has to be crammed into the relatively small store, but it’s always neat and organized. They periodically run sales, and I’ve taken the opportunity to buy several things that I normally would not have purchased, the two most important being their jeans and their hoodies. Their jeans are understated but stylish, fitted, and well-​made; you won’t find pre-​faded, pre-​worn/​torn, acid/​stone-​washed jeans. No. They’re uniform in color, durable, and comfortable – but again, they’re still stylish, and I have found that they are perfect for work when I want to be a little more… I think it’s called ‘work-​casual’? Or wait, is it ‘dress casual’?? And, because of the uniformity in color and their unassuming look, people don’t often realize they’re jeans until they get close. Also I have to mention that a HUGE plus for me is that I regularly find 28″ and not rarely do I find 26″, and so for that alone they win some major points. As for the hoodies, I’ve bought a few throughout the years and I’ve found them to be more durable than they first appear and they occupy – for me at least – that perfect space between thick and thin, so they’re not stifling in a light chill nor insubstantial in the cold. Now I’ll regularly buy myself (and others) jeans and hoodies from Vans regardless of sales, because they are actually worth full price.
With awesome shoes, clothes, and apparel, why wouldn’t you want to at least check this place out? I guess the last reason I would highly recommend this store is because of the service, which is some of the best in the mall. They’re friendly and they’re helpful, and have been consistently so for several years. I think they deserve that fifth star.
