Had a couple stops to make at the mall, and I don’t know about you, but for me, shopping can really work up an appetite :) I already splurged on chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast(in honor of a holiday of course), so I decided I needed a healthier snack option. Tutti Frutti has a open space near the center of the mall. They offer frozen yogurt with a handful of toppings along with smoothies. I know I wouldn’t be able to deny putting candy on my fro-yo, so I opted for a 100% fruit smoothie instead. I went with a mix of banana and strawberry and it was delicious! Cold, sweet, and refreshing. It cost I believe $ 3.25 for a 16 oz cup(only size available for smoothies), and I thought that was fair. The guy working the counter was friendly too, which is always appreciated!

Soooo, the actual yogurt is good, I like the different flavors. But it’s just way too expensive!!!

The concept is great: select from a variety of flavor of yogurt, top it with all sorts of fun toppings(flavored bubbles, fruit, nuts, mochi, etc.), and then pay for the total weight. The toppings are excellent… all great, all enjoyable. The failure, however, is in the frozen yogurt. While there are many choices, we sampled the many fruit flavors, and everything tasted artificial… not a single fruit based yogurt tasted natural on our palate. And as we ate the frozen yogurt, our tongues were«burned»… a strange feeling, freezer burned tongue, but seriously odd. It’s a neat concept that we’ve seen successful in Hawaii, but it seems to fail in execution here based on the yogurt. Verdict: Worth checking out once if you’ve never delved into the concept of top your own frozen yogurt. Ultimately, I don’t think I“d be back.
