Words cannot sum up how amazing this place in. Located at a just 5 mins drive from Aurora Inn this is a place to just leave your worries behind and soak in the beauty this place has to offer. We reached there at the time of twilight and it was spectacular. It’s a huge place with various rooms of indoor eating areas, outside seating on the patio, tent seating and there was even a bonfire in the laws with chairs spears around it. We chose to be seated at the patio as we wanted to enjoy the scenery around with vineyards in the background and that Bön fire lighting. The hostess was friendly and warm as she made us taste various wines before we finally ordered a bottle of a sweet white wine. For dinner I had the best roof vegetable salad with Ricotta cheese which had a mélange of root veggies like carrots, parsnips, beets etc. while my husband had some veg cakes which came with a sweet corn salad. We rounded off the meal with a home made banana cake with blow torched bananas which were just out of the world. We wanted to stay a bit longer but the place closes down a bit early around(9,10). But definitely a huge Thumbs up for this farm kitchen!

We were here with a tour bus and we’re amazed by the food and the service. There were more than 35 of us. All food was delicious and hot. The bread was homemade and hot. The salad was spinach, goat cheese. glazed walnut and a secret maple dressing. All were delighted with the meal. The place is small but charming. The service was outstanding. Be sure to drop in if you are in the neighborhood. You will not be disappointed. Look for the mouse in the bathroom. part of the decorations but is not and never was alive.

Pumpkin Hill is a good option in the Finger Lakes. However, I have had mixed experiences with their food and service. Several times(for dinner), my food has been outstanding and the servers were highly attentive. When I visited for lunch, on the other hand, the food was lukewarm and the service was incredibly slow. It was disappointing given how good our prior experiences had been. That being said, as other reviewers have pointed out, the ambiance is lovely. The outdoor seating has great views and the overall vibe is damn quaint. Be sure to go for a stroll through the field after dinner. Also, if you order dessert, get the carrot cake. It’s fantastic.

Adorable! A beautiful, out-of-the-way place with great food, atmosphere, and views. On cold evenings, they light the fire pits and you can sit in the Adirondack chairs and enjoy. To me, a place like this demands comfort food, so I love the chicken pot pie. This is a find that’s worth the drive.

What an adorable, rustic little place! Stopped by for lunch and was blown away by the scenery. Adored the presentation of all the food… the little details aren’t overlooked here. And of course, the food. The shrimp shared plate is delicious and everything else we tried was wonderful. A real treasure! Would definitely stop by again.

The food was amazing. I had a special; mozzarella basil pesto tomato flatbread & my bf had the aurora salad. I think the flatbread was a little high priced at $ 14 but it was really good so I was happy with it. He loved the salad & the desert we got the berry cake was so refreshing. Can’t beat the atmosphere, we sat outside on the patio & it was simply beautiful. I didn’t like the sangria I had… it just wasn’t for me. It had too many different flavors that didn’t match right for me. I’d like to try the wine next time we go. So def a great place you should check out!

The Pumpkin Hill Bistro was a wonderful surprise. We planned on going to the Aurora Inn but a nearby tent sale produced overflowing crowds. So at the suggestion of our B&B hosts we came here. It is a beautiful setting atop a hill overlooking Lake Cayuga with a lovely garden and outdoor porch. We dined inside and our waiter Eric was prompt and knowledgeable. I choose the chicken pot pie, the Chef’s grandmother’s recipe. It was fabulous with fresh veggies and a rectangle of flaky crust. My wife had the Aurora salad with a skewer of shrimp. It was a generous portion and the shrimp were delicious. As a bonus there was a homemade maple vinaigrette dressing. Everything about our lunch was first class — we would definitely return.

This place is great! We come every time we visit the Finger Lakes and have never been disappointed. Check their website and menu for weekly specials and don’t be afraid to try new things here — we haven’t had a bad meal yet!

Wow. Great find. I was super surprised with this nice little place. For starters the location is beautiful. The landscape is breathtaking. For the appetizer we ordered a trio of tapenade and flatbread. What a way to start. It was Delicioso. I had the Cuban sandwich with caramelized onions. Man it was so good. My mouth is watering and I just had dinner. The attention to detail. My wife had the burger. Off the hook. For dessert the carrot cake in a cup was awesome. Overall experience was A. Must go to this restaurant if you are in the area. Will not be disappointed.

The location, décor and atmosphere is adorable. The food is very good. However if you’re interested in having an event here forget it. We really wanted to have our wedding here, but they’re unresponsive to our numerous phone calls and emails. Their website is outdated. The information sheets they gave us are outdated. It’s left a really bad taste in our mouth, and we will not be back. There are plenty of other places in the area that care, and are doing things the right way.

I had such a great experience at Pumpkin Hill Bistro. I was visiting several local wineries with some friends, and we decided to start the afternoon with some good food. We were not disappointed! The menu is thoughtful and well executed. I had the autumn soup, which used pumpkin as a base. It was fantastic — really well done. For my main I had an omlette/fritatta that was very good and artfully presented. As good as the food is, the décor is really what makes this such a special experience. We sat upstairs, which had great light and cozy atmosphere. You really feel like you are in a someones farm house. Their wine list has many local varieties, and our waitress was really sweet. If it wasn’t for the longer drive from Cornell(about 35 minutes) I would recommend it to friends looking for a place to celebrate any special occasion. Given that we visited in October, I can’t wait to return when its warm out!

My mom and I were looking for a quick bite to eat before a college tour. After arguing if we had enough time, we came to Pumpkin Hill Bistro. It’s the most adorable place! The staff is lovely, and they even have Halloween decorations set up right now and they are so cute. The drinks come in mason jars which I just love. The view is beautiful, and the patio in the shade was breezy and not too hot. I really recommend the patio, sitting inside is like punishing yourself! This view is too great to pass up. When I was ordering I told them I was gluten free and they told me they had a gluten free bun for my burger! The food is excellent and if this is your only stop on the beautiful route 90– like my mom and I: this is the place to go. This place is simply the best.

We really enjoyed this charming, quirky, homestyle restaurant on the drive down the east side of Cayuga Lake. The service and ambience were excellent, the food was local, fresh, and interesting, and the prices were reasonable. There’s plenty of outdoor seating, but not a significant lake view that we could see.

What a find! I stumbled upon this place when my friends and I stayed at a lakehouse in King Ferry. The weather when we dined here wasn’t the best, but I can imagine how perfect it would be, sitting outside overlooking the lake. My friends and I came here on a Friday afternoon for lunch, it was fairly busy, but there was plenty of room to accommodate a party of 6. I got the salad and sandwich combo, which was around $ 11. Got the curried chicken sandwich which was ok but the salad was delicious. Fresh veggies and a delicious homemade lemon vinaigrette. We all shared two desserts which were both delicious: the pumpkin whoopie pie and a homemade berry pie. The atmosphere was fantastic, an old farm house, with the dessert menu written on rolling pins. Great experience!

Googled for restaurants in the Aurora, NY that had vegetarian fare and a couple of them popped up. Driving into Aurora could not find the bar and grill so decided to go to Pumpkin Hill. Did not know what to expect, but got a pleasant vibe as we drove into the gravel parking lot. It was raining. The house converted restaurant was a welcoming bistro with a home like setting with a great kitchen. We sat at the kitchen table. And saw plaques on the wall. The first one that came to my attention was«Vegetarian food served here». This made me feel at home. Although limited items on the menu, the food was great. The service was one of the best I have seen. Everyone were chatting with each other including guests, just like a social gathering. All food tasted fresh and home made. I gave it 4.5 stars because food is pricey. Everything else deserves a 5! Will definitely go back.

I had the great treat of trying this place out during a recent visit to Aurora. Everything was delicious, especially the edamame and kale. The décor is absolutely adorable too– country and cute without seeming kitschy.

The good: Lovely location, ample parking, and a very authentic feel to this converted house. Staff was pleasant, helpful, and the service was nice. The so-so: The menu felt pricey for what it offered. The not so good: Once the food arrived did I begin to really question why everyone pointed us toward Pumpkin Hill Bistro as the best food in the area. We ordered as follows: Butternut squash soup, East meets west, Caesar Salad, and the stuffed pasta dish with roasted tomato sauce. I was horribly disappointed. Perhaps the chefs were having an off day, but the food was not very good at all. I personally had the soup, caesar salad, and tasted the stuffed pasta. The soup was more of a squash purée flavored with apple and little else. It honestly needed a bit of cream, nutmeg, bay leaves, salt, and white pepper, with potentially a bit of cayenne or tobasco.(hint hint) The salad was alright, nothing spectacular, and the romaine was either farm fresh or not romaine. The stuffed pasta was unappetizing. Once room temp the cheese filling solidified into a hard, tasteless mass. If it was homemade, which I’m not entirely certain it was, The tomato sauce was definitely made with canned tomatoes. Overall: Were I rating this bistro strictly on the ambiance I would give it four stars, however as I feel that the food is an integral part of a restaurant being somewhere to go back to, I can only give this bistro one star. Although this restaurant was quite lovely aesthetically, the food was quite a disappointment.

Great atmosphere! Old farmhouse in a field of flowers overlooking the lake. Food was good but not great. We went for lunch and sat on the porch, which was gorgeous. We had black bean burger and egg salad wrap, neither of which were particularly exciting. Would try again for dinner if I got the chance.

Pumpkin Hill Bistro is an amazing find! Wifey and I had a great meal here. Without reservations we had to wait for about fifteen minutes, but the host got us two glasses of wine and we sat outside in some wooden chairs out in the garden/yard. The setting is as idyllic as you can get; a nicely mowed grass yard, surrounded by a field of hay, and Cayuga lake in the distance. There were about six tables on the front porch of the Bistro, and I’m envious of those who were able to score such tables. But onto the meal! I ordered the Maple Farm Duck and my wife got the Tortellaci Du Jour(which was chicken, broccoli, and rosemary). The Maple Farm Duck was one of the best duck dishes I’ve ever had; perfectly cooked with caramelized onions and apples and covered with a raspberry glaze. I absolutely destroyed every ounce of food on the place. The Tortellaci Du Jour was good, but my wife enjoyed the Tortellaci’s far more than the chicken or broccoli. We finished the meal off with bite size puff pastries glazed with lemon sauce. Mmmmm. So if you are in the Aurora/King Ferry area and can only have one meal, Pumpkin Hill Bistro is where you need to go.
