Popeyes

So I know I should lower my standards when visiting fast-​food places, but I hold out, insisting that even fast-​food can be delivered fresh and hot to patrons, if the owners/​employees want to. I arrived right before the dinner hour, 5:00 pm, and was worried I’d be thrown some old chicken. And yuppers, that’s what I got. By the time I got home with my order of chicken tenders and 2-​piece meal, the tenders looked like they had been in the refrigerator for 2 days; and of course, my 2-​thigh meal came disguised as 2 legs. (Even more curious, because the receipt listed the order as one thigh and one leg — clearly not what I ordered, but they are even not reading the order slips correctly).
Pissed, and now even more hungry, I drove back. The manager was pretty defensive but did come through with a new order for me. What a difference fresh chicken makes. The number of visits I make to fast-​food places like Popeyes have dropped considerably over the years. It’s experiences like this that push me even farther away. There’s just no reason for me to take a chance on poor quality food (to begin with) that’s not even given the care to be freshly prepared.
Used to «love that chicken from Popeyes…» Sigh.

This Popeye’s location was fantastic!!! As I walked in, I noticed the restaurant was expectionally clean. The customer service was awesome, courteous staff who made sure my order was right. I called ahead and placed the order for my family’s dinner. I was in and out of Popeye’s in 5 minutes. The food was fresh and hot. It was the best Popeye’s meal we’ve ever had.

Can’t speak about their food, never could order it. Sat in the drive thru for 30 minutes with 3 cars in front of me until I could get to the menu board. No reason to go back, it won’t be better judging from the reviews. Time for the franchise owner to either close up shop, or move it elsewhere. If I could get a hold of the owner I’d buy it from them, real cheap. $ 30 oughta cover it.

Had chicken pre cooked sitting under lights! Out of coleslaw! Mac and cheese was disgusting over cooked and old. Took for ever for the guy behind the counter to package everything even tho it was already cooked sitting under the lamps! I will never go back to this location! What do you expect being in a gas station! Go some where else!

I often eat Popeye’s chicken here on Tuesdays, when this location has Tuesday specials on 2-​pieces of chicken: $ 1.19 for dark meat (leg/​thigh) and $ 1.89 for light meat (breast/​wing).
9 times out of 10, the chicken is awesome. Hot and delicious.
The one bad experience that I had was when I slid in 15 minutes before closing (a mistake?). The chicken I received, while hot, had a burned odor/​taste, even though it wasn’t visually burnt. I’m not sure what happened there and I won’t push my luck next time.
But you can trust the chicken that you get during normal hours. Tuesdays are hectic at dinner time, that’s for sure, and the chicken is flying off the shelf!

False advertising at this restaurant. Windows state the bonafide box for $ 5 and there is an electronic sign behind the cashier that shows the dumb box for $ 5 and a drink for $ 6. Ask for one and they state that they don’t sell that any more. Manager is a joke and about as useful as a one legged man in an a$$ kicking contest. Will never go back to this place again. The chain needs to have better control of what they do or do not sell.

Considering how scary the other popeyes locations are this one is probably one of the metro areas best. From the time we walked in until the time we had our food was probably a total of about 6 minutes. The food was all hot and tasted fairly decent.

It’s fast food chicken not fine dining. I love the chicken Po Boy. They have the best fries around and a great deal on Tuesdays.

I give it 2 stars, 1 since no one spit in my face (which reviews would lead me to expect) and 1 for good food. I saw the horible reviews and had to see if the horror stories were true. First off its a gas station, so expectations should start very low. Placed a very simple order for everyone, just a bucket of chicken, since the reviews say the staff is less than customer service focused. This location cannot be considered «fast food», with the ticket time I have to assume the chickens were roosting in the back, and plucked and butchered at the time of order. Keep a watchful eye and check your order before you leave, they would have let me leave with no biscuits (that’s messed up!). If your willing to jump thru hoops, you can still get legit Popeyes chicken here.

I’ve never had a problem at this particular Popeyes, it is what is is… Popeyes not an upscale cajun restaurant. That being said I always get what i ask for… fresh hot fastfood at a reasonable price.

Every time I come to this location of Popeyes I say that I’m never coming back. The only thing that brings me back is the fact that they DO have really good chicken. (when they actually HAVE chicken, I’ve been here a twice when they have «run out» of chicken.) The service is always extremely slow, it’s almost as if they don’t understand that they have a «busy» time during the dinner hours. The employees are very difficult to understand and they have a lot of difficulty understanding the customers. (There seems to be a language barrier.) Sorry Popeyes, I think I’ll have to stick with KFC from now on.

Good food. Spicy chicken is good. Tuesday deals are the best. 2 pieces for a dollar? Great deal. There is no limit to the deal so you can get as much as you want. I wouldn’t recommend buying a drink or side from here as they are overpriced. Sides are small. If you want a drink, you should go to the circle k next door and get any size for $ 0.79

Employees are self-​centered focusing all of their time just talking to themselves. They consistently screw up the order and it takes them about 10 – 15 minutes just to get the order ready. This isn’t a one-​time deal for us – my family has been going to this Smoky Hill restaurant off and on for 2 ½ years and and they have been very consistent in being awful. We do not plan on going back.

Went to this Popeyes about 2 weeks ago, had to repeat my order about 3 different times because the woman on the other end couldn’t understand what I was saying. Nice! Got to the window and gave them my debit card, the woman handed me a normal receipt and not the credit card receipt I asked for. When I finally got the credit card receipt low and behold. The amounts were different! I brought it to the girls attention and her only response to me (mainly because she couldn’t understand what I was saying) was ‘the manager did that, I don’t know’. For real? You take someone’s money and can’t tell them why? Better yet, how can you work for a company that you know charges more than what they say AND you don’t know? If you ever go here. DO NOT USE A CARD! You will get charged .39 cents more than what they tell you.

Nothing wrong with the food. I found out a few days later that the store had charged my credit card a different amount than what was on my receipt! I called the store & didn’t get any response back on this, so I called the 800 number on the website. After waiting on hold for 15 minutes, I finally spoke with a nice lady who took all my information. She said she would pass it on & someone will be contacting me about this.
Well it’s been a month now & no one from corporate has contacted me regarding my credit card being over charged!!! I guess I will just have to accept being overcharged for my meal & I assure everyone that I WILL NOT BE REVISITING this store ever again!!!

I would love to say that I was impressed with this place, but I can’t. Popeyes used to be on top of the fried chicken game. But when you go and they don’t have any specials, you end up spending WAY more than you need to for some chicken, a biscuit and a side. I seem to find more value going to King Soopers and getting some Chester Fried chicken and I can feed the whole family for the same prices as two people at Popeyes.
I liked the special you had on this day (two pieces and a biscuit for $ 2.99) but other than a daily special, I don’t know if I would frequent this place.
Popeyes, please go back to your old ways, great quality and great taste, you may be able to win me over again!

This is the worst Popeye’s I’ve ever been to. The location is dirty; the employees speak very little English; and the service is just plain AWFUL! They have messed up my order so many times that I now make a point to open all my boxes before leaving (w/​take-​out). They even put out a tip jar at one point — tacky.
