Went for breakfast today and had very poor service from the time we were greeted. Almost as she did not want to be there. As we waited for more coffee we saw her eating in between putting in orders and delivering people’s order(not very busy as we were there around 10:15 am. I had biscuits and gravy and half of the biscuits were rock hard. The owner seemed nice and brought me a new biscuit(freshly baked) but her waitress definitely lacked people skills. Needless to say we probably won’t be going back.

Customer service was awesome. Food was awesome, you’ll find eight things in the menu on the first page. We have a two year old daughter who doesn’t sit still for long, they went out of there way on a busy day to get her food out as fast as possible which was greatly appreciated.

I got lured in for a fundraiser being held by the 95.9 fm River road crew. I went for their bacon waffle. Nothing special and for some reason they didn’t put enough batter in the iron to get a fully formed waffle. I prefer a waffle that is golden brown and doesn’t turn into the consistency of a pancake after you add butter and syrup. Employees didn’t appear to be too outgoing and I certainly didn’t feel welcomed as a first timer. The regulars and radio personnel seemed to be getting the 5 star service. Perhaps I may give them another chance?

I like this place. There aren’t too many good restaurants in Aurora, and it’s close to home. They treat you like family and always remember your face. Food has never been bad.

Awesome service, asked how I wanted my strawberries, how I wanted my bacon cooked, very polite and the servings were humongous!

Service was very slow. When the waitress finally came over, she said she thought someone else had my table. Seriously? She had every table surrounding me. The food is just okay. The biscuits and gravy was very bland. The coffee tastes old and/or burnt. I had to add about 3 packets of sugar to drink it. My waitress was friendly enough but there was a dark haired women working the register and seating people that seemed less than friendly. Over all, the restaurant didn’t seem very clean. Everything is worn down and it needs a facelift stat!

I will never go back! I got a hair in my food and all they did was take a dollar off my bill. That was terrible, so I had to pay for food I never ate. absolutely disgusting. Owner was rude, she insisted that her restaurant was great and this was just a little slip up. As I said, I will never go back.

Mother’s now has Falafel, hummus, kafta kabob, and chicken kabobs! …and they were YUMMY! I have lived in the area 10 years and have been to this place a few times before the current owners took over(which I didn’t know it had been sold). It’s a regular pancake house and the food before was ok but nothing special to make it a regular stop. I recently went in to grab a quick breakfast and ordered the Denver Omelet… it was delicious. I had never had a baked omelet before and very much enjoyed it. My waiter was also very attentive and I left happy and stuffed. The owner also came over to talk with me and was very nice. My next visit was the best… they have introduced Falafel, kabobs and other mediterranean food to their menu… you really should try it. Delicious and you don’t have to drive to Chicago for it!!! On this visit we came at an off hour and the owner waited on us and couldn’t be nicer. I will certainly make this a regular place now that I can eat yummy mediterranean food near my house… go check it out!

I will always look for restaurants that are not part of a chain. I find they strive hard to distinguish themselves. Mothers fits that bill. I also require safe gluten free menu items. Once again, goal is met. The prices are reasonable. Our food was served hot and promptly. The fruit bowl seemed a little over priced and I say this because it seemed the fruit should have been closer to peak freshness. But it was truly ok and a generous size. I would definitely return.

I had the cod before Lent started, it was very good. Now, the coating is very heavy. Way too much coating! The fish inside isn’t that hot!

I really want to like this place because it’s close to my house and they have gluten free pancakes. However, the service is terrible. My husband ordered us to go breakfast and they charged us extra for the to go containers. Weird.

This is another very good spot for breakfast in Aurora. Everything we’ve had here was good, and the service is on point. The only reason I give less than 5 stars is because while the food is very good, its not 5 Stars when compared to a place like Ari’s Kitchen in North Aurora. We still eat here sometimes.

The food and the service has gone WAY down hill the last couple times we have been there, but today was the WORST. We stopped in for breakfast. My son ordered swedish pancakes and I ordered a skillet. When the waiter came out, he had three undercooked crepes with no lingonberries and a side(the size of about two tablespoons of jam in a plastic container. My skillet(which was luke-warm) did not come in a skillet! I told the waiter that I was not happy. Instead of offering to get something else, he gestured to the lady working the cash register and told me to take it up with her. When I talked to the manager, I told her that the small container of jam was not sufficient and that most swedish pancakes are served with lingonberries. She said, «well that’s other restaurants and everyone likes our food». When I told her that the skillet did not come in a skillet, she said that it did not matter. When I told her the food was not hot, she told me that it was a cold day. She began talking rapidly, and not even bothering to make eye contact. She said, «I will discount your meal», and discounted it by a whopping one dollar. With so many other great options in the area, I WILLNOTBERETURNING.

Mother’s is your average family restaurant, but with a little extra effort on the service end of things. It’s a large restaurant with plenty of parking(and plenty of handicapped parking). The restaurant is clean and the choices are plentiful. I visited here on a weekday and we had the most attentive server. It was a nice change of pace at a restaurant like this one. Their glasses are huge, so even though they have free refills on soda, you won’t be looking every two minutes for your server. Another plus. We ordered an omelet with hash browns and an English muffin, a French dip with hash browns and a BLT club with french fries. Portions were plentiful. The food arrived hot. The au jus was seasoned and not just a hot bowl of grease, so that was good. And when we left, the owner gave us a coupon for a future visit. Overall, this place is a-ok.
