Closest bar to home and can look a little intimidatingly busy at times with the bikers parked outside but the minute you walk in it opens up and has a large dive bar feel. Dark enough to have a drink in peace or lively enough(pool table, juke box, etc) on the other end of the bar to let loose a little. No judgement feel here and the wait staff are friendly. I like this place!

Met up with friends after a round of golf who claim this place as their«18th hole». Dustin was our server and was very attentive and friendly. It’s hard to find good service these days and he certainly is a gem there. The chicken strips were really good as were the fried mushrooms. The wine selection is sub par and is a cheap boxed brand that is difficult to stomach. Go with a traditional mixed drink and you’ll be happy. Bathrooms are clean.

We were looking for some good bar food when my girlfriend remembered she had been to this place and they had an awesome cheese steak. We went in and the Packers game was on so we sat by one of the many tvs to watch. Our server came over right away and got our drink order. She came back right away with our drinks. We ended up ordering the chili cheeseburger and buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. They came it within a reasonable time. The chili cheeseburger looked amazing. It was smothered in green chili and had pickles, onions, and cheese on it. I had to eat it with a fork, but it was good! The burger was juicy and the chili not too spicy, but just right. The buffalo chicken sandwich had no words to explain how good it was. The chicken was super juicy and the Buffalo sauce plentiful. We added some cheddar cheese and dipped it in blue cheese dressing. All I can say is WOW! This is the best bar food I have had in Colorado. I hope this wasn’t a one time thing. We will be back and hopefully not disappointed.

I went to McCarthy’s last week with my dad in law. We heard the food was good and atmosphere was laid back. It delivered on both. We decided to order chicken wings and two burgers. The chicken wings are great, you can get them battered which makes them extra crispy and put the sauce on the side so you can decide how much you want. The burgers were HUGE and cooked to perfection, the fries were nice and crispy. I’m the only one who ordered a drink — a tall coke and rum. I didn’t come during happy hour, but the bartender mentioned they were two for the price of one from 3pm — 7pm. While we were there, the staff was friendly and personable, the manager even introduced herself and checked on us, the bar was clean(and may I mention this place is huge). I think we have found our new lunch hangout spot.

This place really depends on your taste. This is a bar for STRONG drinks, a mature crowd, and good local bands. Usually I don’t like live rock bands but every time I come here I enjoy it. I had a burger one time and it was really good. However I’ve heard it can be pretty hit or miss. This is also the only place I’ve ever seen budweiser black crown on tap. My strongest con about the place it the fact that the servers and bartenders don’t care about how you’re doing. Every time I’ve tried to strike up a convorsation with someone who works there they literally say nothing and walk off. Rude. I’m in my early 20’s and overall I like going here every once in a while, even if my boyfriend and I are usually the youngest people there.

If you want to have a beer or cocktails while meeting someone, this location is probably one of the better place around here. They got plenty of seating; many pool tables and friendly employees. Last few times I was here, the wait staff always been fast and friendly, knew what was going and very professional and checked on me continuously to make sure i will spend more money on beer. Haha. If you are hungry for some quick bite to eat and want a drink at the same time; this place might quench your thirst and fill your stomach. If you heard about the health code violations, I’m sure it’s all fixed. They can’t stay up this long without fixing it. They have free HH taco bars during Fridays afternoon.

If you are looking for drinks, a more mature crowd, and loud rock music, this is your place. There us plenty of parking out front. The 2 for 1 happy hour ensures the patrons are indeed happy. The food is hit and miss. I was told the burger was very good, but my French dip was lukewarm and so soggy. This was before I dipped the sandwich in the au jus. I attempted to dip my sandwich, but the bread fell apart before reaching the au jus cup. I figured the bread was wet enough(with what, I don’t know), so I took a bite. I regret few things in life. This was one. I will stick to drinks in this place.

Forget the old reviews… This place is a great local place for happy hour, pool, and music. Liz was our waitress and she was full of smiles as well as Stacey, and on top of the ball, even though the place was packed. Met the owner as well as he was helping bus tables and check in everyone. Food was an excellent value during happy hour for my self and my friends. Will definitely return.

Worst dive bar in aurora. Owners dont care only if youre a regular in which they over pour and over serve their guests. Dont bother with the jukebox you wont be rembursed if they play«trivia». You just have to wait it out i feel bad for the servers l, stretched too thin with a owner that doesnt care. This place looks HORRIBLE call jon taffer ASAP

This place gives me the creeps. It’s one of those places that has its specific regulars and they get a smile and better service and the others get to sit and wait. Weird smell of the place, it was super dark in there to hide how ancient it seems, and food wasn’t very good. I’ve heard some SCARY stuff about their health inspections as well…

Average bar, average food, and a big cafeteria feel. If its weekdays be prepared to wait for service. And be prepared to look at a bunch of empty tables aligned like a highschool cafeteria. All in all its ok food, ok price and ok service. Nothing special, bad or good.

I’m a little conflicted, being as my boyfriend loves the place. We went for a date night and sat at a high table away from the bar. I asked the waitress after waiting 15 minutes of sitting if they had a blender. They did. Great. I ordered a strawberry daquiri. It was so strong and so absolutely disgusting I took 2 sips and I was done. Gross! Geoffrey had Amaretto and Sprite, so he was pleased. We ordered fried pickle chips, wings(mild and naked), and soft pretzel bites with cheese. The mild wings(mine) were actually pretty good. They were a little small for my liking. Geoffrey didn’t care for the naked wings much. I am not much of a pickle-eater, but I generally like fried pickle chips. The pickle chips were too thick and this rendered them not very crispy and a little greasy. I couldn’t eat too many of them. They were too strong of a dill flavor for me(thickness also plays a part here). Geoffrey and I have a thing for soft pretzels. I ate most of those because I was pretty dissatisfied with the fried pickle chips. The waitress did not check in enough and I found myself waiting for a refill with a scorching tongue. We are looking elsewhere for a good pub. Sorry.

Recently failed food safety inspection and was highlighted in a local news report. Raw beef stored on top of ready to eat foods. An employee was handling ready to eat food without gloves. Another employee was handling dirty dishes then food without washing his hands. Ground beef, salad dressing and cheeses were held at unsafe temperatures.

What I like about this place the most is that I feel, at 42, I’m still somewhere«out» and fun(bands, karaōke, poker nights, pool, etc.) but I definitely am not the oldest person in the bar. I jokingly call it «cougar paradise» because the women there(I’m one of them!) are older than the downtown crowd, but still fun, fabulous, and just out to have a great time. The men seem to be friendly, chatty, and not overly clingy. Just a good, salt-of-the-earth mix of locals. Food has been great to me but some of my friends are not the biggest fans… I’ve never gone wrong with the standards(burgers, tuna melts, fries) and the portions are big. Drinks are good! Happy Hour wine comes as a 2 for 1 in huge goblets, so you feel like a lush, but also? Yay! Joanna(aka«Jo Jo») is about the sweetest and most proficient cocktail waitress/bartender I’ve ever met. As a former cocktail slinger myself, it’s hard not to be critical of service, and there’s not a single thing I can say about her other than AWESOME.

Towny bar. What more can I say. Gets packed on a Friday night — relatively inexpensive happy hour drinks(2 for 1 beers, etc) and some free munchies such as wings, veggies, and chips. Nothing exciting about it — it’s a place to go hang out and have some beer. You don’t go there for the atmosphere, or the décor. You go cause it is close and relatively cheap.

There are two things this place has going for it: Ample parking and they serve Magners cider. Magners is the only Irish thing you’ll get here. The clientele is sketchy, the bar staff is really slow, and the inside is a bit dank. The service here needs some major improvement. Besides being slower than molasses, our server was as smart as a box of rocks. Make sure to double-check your bill when closing out.

I had high hopes for this place as I drive by at least once/week. Finally I had a chance to stop by for a bite and a beer. The beer was good. The atmosphere was yucky… yes, a childish word, but the only one I can use to describe the place… dark, boring… Food…dark…boring… I have no plans on returning.(Two Stars only because my son liked the nachos)

This place is huge! Lots of TV’s– Sunday Football! I ordered a glass of wine and it came in a big huge glass-almost full, not sure but I think it was at least two glasses in there– and it was $ 6.25 The service could have been better– super nice, just really slow. We had a table of 13– and there is plenty of room here to pull tables together and still be able to watch a football or hockey game. The wings were great– for those like me who can’t stand blue cheese, they have the good«bar» ranch dressing– yummmmy! If I lived in the hood I could see going here for games. They also have poker and pool tourney’s here weekly.

I hear about McCarthy’s at least 3 times a week. This is the bf’s neighborhood hangout and I was finally brought here on Friday for a double date. Definitely your neighborhood bar, packed with locals and neon beer brand signs. Lots of neon signs. Happy Hour just might be one of the greatest things in the US. 2 for 1 drinks and raging drink specials. Add in a little buffet of free chicken wings and tater tots, and you have a prime spot to have drinks and for some, a free meal. I had a glass of white zinfandel, to take advantage of their ‘2 glasses of house wine for $ 6.25′ deal. I’m not sure what the brand of wine was but it was dry, tasty, and the glass was about the size of my head. To top it off, it contained half a bottle of wine and our wonderful waitress joked that another glass would have me consuming the entire bottle. I opted not to go for that. With cheap drinks, plenty of tv’s, and tons of loyal regulars, I’m considering this the ‘Cheers’ of Aurora. After a round of karaōke, I’m sure even the guy in the back corner will know your name.
