This is not a restaurant! In case many people thought this. Unilocal is great for restaurant reviews, but this place is not a restaurant. This place is in fact a Korean Banchan store. They sell amazing Korean side dishes, freshly made, like grandmas cooking. Their kimchi is amazing, and I wouldn’t buy it any where else. They also make kimbop in the morning, which is also amazing! It’s a very small store and ran by one person, she hand makes everything from scratch. It’s hard to find a place like this in Denver, but low and behold, she’s located right off of Parker and Yale.

As a proud Unilocaler, I search far and wide for the best of the best for my favorites foods. With the word«kimchi» in their name, you figure they’d have to be pretty awesome at what they do and I wasn’t disappointed at all. My salesperson at Shortline Subaru and I were having an awesome conversation about Korean food and the best of the best in that category. You’ve gotta trust the guy who speaks Korean, is Korean, has that Korean ajjashi haircut and goes out on the weekends with his friends to do a little karaōke and bbq. Somehow we got on a stream of conversation about what I was going to do to kill time during the rush hour time suck and I mentioned looking for the local H Mart for some sorely needed kimchi. I’m SO happy I had a local expert guide in the ways of local kimchi market because I would not have found this place otherwise. It’s tucked away in a seedy looking strip mall, flanked by a halal buffet and eclipsed by a pawn shop. It’s across the street from the H Mart and they only sell kimchi in all forms. They also sell a couple other forms of banchan in their main cooler display but the kimchi is front and center when you walk in. I chose the classic baechu kimchi and got a whiff of spicy goodness when I popped the top off to further inspect my newfound treat. The words«ooh» and«mmm» definitely came to mind and the taste was close to what I remember my mom’s kimchi to be like. All the more reason to fight traffic and drive 2 hours in the future for my kimchi fix.
