Dear J&K, Regarding your response– I think the fact that you think the floor was a «small blunder» speaks for itself. You most certainly did NOT offer to fix this– and also leaving us grout to fix your mistakes is also unacceptable. It is also unacceptable that you post any part of our personal contract WITHOUTOURCONSENT on Unilocal for the whole world to see, or anywhere else for that matter. I wonder how many other people would like to have their contracts posted WITHOUTTHEIRCONSENT. And as far as what section #11 and #12 in our contract covers, the materials were not the issue. The tile floor came in prefabricated 12″ squares which you approved in advance and agreed to work with. All you had to do was match the pattern. You were not capable of doing that apparently. The grout issues were from a product that you recommended and approved prior to its installation. The grout was not altered, modified, or subsequently repaired after your installation. Our previous shower was 30 years old and the grout was in better shape when it was demo’d than our current shower is a couple of years after it was completed. Disappointing to say the least. So again that’s an installation issue on your end not a product issue. You obviously dislike the photos of our shower and the subpar craftsmanship that they highlight. It is a shame that you didn’t feel this way while you were completing our shower. Simply put– we waited a bit to post our review because I wasn’t on Unilocal sooner. J&K agreed to do our job. They were made aware of all materials upfront. A price was agreed upon and a contract signed. J&K made offensive comments about the quality of our home and neighborhood, continuously complained about the work, and threatened to walk off the job more than once after being paid a deposit to complete a remodel on both bathrooms. After working with him on one bathroom, we were happy to have him out of our house! It was agreed upon by both parties that he move on after finishing the one bathroom. So glad we went with an entirely different contractor for our hall bath that did a wonderful job without all the headache. We didn’t ask J&K to come back because why would we after the floor was finished the way it was? Wouldn’t this be a huge flaw that a contractor would feel obligated to fix? Not the case at all. It was a huge mess. Pictures speak a thousand words.
