I, like a few other reviewers, am too old to be coming to this store, but it just so happens to be one of the stores at Fox Valley that I like but where I rarely buy anything. I step in every now and then when I’m at the mall despite the dark, the music, and the cologne, and every so often I find something I like, but again that isn’t too often. I’m usually approached by someone at some point, and I appreciate the order this place is kept in despite the crowds of messy teens. I think the prices are pretty reasonable, but even for just 25 bucks, I wouldn’t buy a pair of their jeans, which I find to be shoddy – it’s too bad too, they carry a lot of them in my size – otherwise I’ll continue to come and search for something that’s light, casual, comfortable to youthenize myself.

Bought a couple of shirts from Hollister over the weekend. Went to wear one on tuesday and the sleeve ripped when I put it on. Sense the shirt was brand new I wanted to get it replaced. Took it back to Fox Vally and was very happy with how easy it was to exchange the shirt for a new one. It is great to see they stand behind there products here. Also I must admit I really enjoy shipping at this store. The loud music and cool design make this store stand out in the mall. The cloths here are always trendy also and while I’m not 25 any more I still really enjoy the way I look in the cloths from this store. The Polo shirts here are top notch. All and all a great store.

I used to be one of those people who was all«I hate anything owned by Abercrombie» and flat out refused to even go into Hollister. Then I went to the Gurnee MIlls Hollister and got an entire outfit for $ 20 including a new jacket! and I was sold! Their jeans are SUPER comfortable and inexpensive when you get them on sale. Their clothes are super sexy, and their sweatshirts and sweat pants are the most comfortable I’ve ever owned. My only complaint is that the dressing rooms are tiny, its really dark, loud, and reeks of perfume… which is standard at every Hollister I’ve ever been too, but its worth it to put up with for their great clothes!

Before any of you ask yourself, «what in the hell is THISGUY doing in a Hollister?!» Answer: Jake cologne. That stuff is awesome! However, I was also in retail management for a number of years and Hollister also appears to be a first class, well managed store. It doesn’t matter when you go, there are people in there all the time and the cash registers are ringing. Weekends? Forgetaboutit. Very trendy, attractive clothes and accessories for both young men and women below the age of 25. Older than that and… well it’s just sad to see. I ditched the sack my «Jake» came in as soon as I left the store so no one thought I was sad. LOL Four stars from me! I might give em a 5th star if they ever started stocking clothes that would fit me. :-)

I know I’m too old for this store, don’t get me started. I had a birthday last month and a minor one day freak out about entering my childbearing years with childbearing hips(please, God, No… on either account). So basically, I’m just happy I actually fit into anything at this store meant for tweens. Okay, I’ll never fit into the tops, but I’m thankful for that and boobies. I’m talking jeans, man. I want some tween jeans, and I want ‘em baaad. These stores always confuse me a little. They’re set up to look like a surf shop and depending on which way you choose upon stepping onto the store ‘porch’ you’ll end up in men’s or women’s… okay, boys or girls. I always pick the wrong side first and pretend to be shopping for my BF until I find the girls section. At first you’ll notice the overpowering smell of cologne, then music so loud it almost hinders your ability to shop. You should also take note of all the store employees. When you enter(and when you walk into a new section of the store) they’ll greet you with a ‘wassup’ or ‘hey’. They aren’t being unprofessional, this is actually the store policy… and again, I was just happy the younguns didn’t call me ‘maam’… or even worse, ‘sir’. The store is jam packed with various surfer chic clothing and has a pretty decent denim selection. I started off trying on a size 11 thinking I looked like a manatee compared to the kids in this store, and was able to weasel my size down to 1’s and 3’s for a baggier relaxed fit, phew. The employees in the store were super helpful and polite. They all stayed in their section of the store and aren’t goofing off or flirting, just working… which is totally not what I would have been doing at their age, working with cute people in my own age group with no distinguishable older manager around. Kudos to them for being so dedicated. I ended up getting 2 pair of jeans. I like them because the denim is soft and perfect for this Spring/Summer when I sit on my back deck with my kitties and relax. At $ 40-$ 60 a pair, they’re great junk jeans for wearing around the house, running errands, and relaxing in and I’m more than happy with my purchase.
