Extended Stay America – Denver – Aurora South

I travel a lot and try to save myself and clients money, but this may be a new low even for the often disgusting Extended Stay chain. Let’s start with room details, how about working sink and tub drain? Not here. Heater has no thermostat, only too hot or off. Need hangers for the closet? There is a Walgreens a short drive away, front desk has no idea. The best part was the 10 PM tile work in the adjoining laundry room.
This is the trifecta of hotel badness, no sleep, nowhere to hang your suit and no shower.
The good. Room was clean, some staff was great, although too many tasks and some did not appreciate that they were living the dream and were surly.
If you can afford it, keep looking, otherwise stop and get a plunger, earplugs and some hangers. You are, like the folks at the front desk, living the dream. Open road and a dumpy hotel.

Absolutely disgusting. Blood stains on the sheets, mildew smell from ac, bugs on the wall. Completely smelled like smoke even though they assured us it was a non smoking room. Asked to be moved rooms and they said it was all they had. Maybe if they had been upfront about it and told us we only have smoking rooms then we could have dealt but the fact that they lied made it worse. Everything is broken in here and I even washed the remote bc It covered in gross stuff. I’ve stayed at so many hotels over the years and this was absolutely the worst. So gross.
Will never stay with an extended stay again after this experience. Let’s just hope I don’t bring home bugs from this place

Should’ve checked Unilocal before I made a reservation at this place. This is a dump and since I purchased this with Priceline I have no choice but to spend one more night here. I haven’t stayed in a hotel this bad since I was a kid. The carpet looks like someone died on it. There’s no wash cloths. Three out of four lamps don’t work. There’s no waste basket in the bathroom or in the room. Generally it’s just a dump Don’t stay here.

Oh man! I’m such an idiot. I stupidly used Priceline Express Deals to pick a random spot in the area. Priceline spat out a reservation here.
Check-​in was very slow. There was one person working the front desk and he was caught between folks popping in to pay their weekly premium, others just looking for fresh towels, and the select few of us eager to grab our keys and sleep. I will say that the young man handled himself well (because of course, there were calls coming in) but seriously… can no one else handle the front desk?
I checked in at about 3:30pm for a one-​night stay. It’s now 11:30pm and there is still no running water. The manager did not bother to show up until about 10:00pm despite this ongoing problem and without little delay, the manager set off the fire alarm for our building. We all wandered outside to watch a firetruck roll in and out. Still no resolution. Oh, my kingdom for a toilet that flushes!
I keep calling periodically to see what’s up but the front office has no updates. I also keep calling for two extra pillows. We are now on hour 8 of this showdown and still not a single downy feather blown in our direction. We also tried to snag a few extra towels in hopes of a shower tomorrow morning, but without water, they’ve been unable to run the washer to clean a new batch so it seems we’ve reached our towel limit. But hey! Who needs towels when you’re living in a self-​imposed drought.
I called Extended Stay America to see if I can get some sort of corporate resolution. Their office is only open to guest complaints from Monday to Friday during usual business hours. Alas! It’s Friday night and I will eagerly await my response that’s at least 58 hours away.
Maybe this place isn’t always so unbearable? Maybe its cost is enough to sway you towards giving it a shot? But please, do yourself a favor and shell out an extra $ 5 to stay anywhere else. Don’t let my struggles be in vain!
An aside about wifi: Yes, there’s free wifi but it’s slow. For a mere $ 4, you can have marginally faster download speeds! No, but seriously, don’t do that. Just prepare yourself for subpar internet.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed and I have started at many hotels. I really just needed some where to sleep for a few hours. I know you get what you pay for but this is on another level. This hotel get a negative 5 star. Dirty, towels had blue stains, cigarette burn on the blankets, stained carpet, random red bugs, smells nasty. I can go on and on but I hope you get the point.
