El Paso Grande is not what it appears to be from the outside. This is a really great supermarket if you are looking for particular Mexican ingredients. It is guaranteed that you will find them here. They have an awesome buffet style café in the back of the store when you can fill up containers of barbacoa, beans, guacamole, salsa, or just grab some tamales for lunch! You can get great food for really cheap. My parents have their Cinco De Mayo party catered by El Paso Grande every year and they always do a wonderful job. They get the chicken enchiladas, beans, spanish rice, pico de gallo, and flan. They come in huge tin trays that could feed 40 people or more and you wouldn’t believe the price if I told you. I wasn’t as happy with their food this year as I was last year. The beans were a little watery and the chicken enchiladas lacked in chicken, but the rice and flan were really great. Plus for the price, you really can’t beat it.

Holy tamale thunder batman! The freshest homemade tortillas on the planet. But wait before you go on reading this review, it needs a little theme music. So open another browser window and play the following on full blast. Upon entering the carniceria you are like«is it a restaurant or grocery store?». Well both to be exact. You can buy the freshest produce available and some pretty hard to find meat. If Walt Disney was a butcher this would be his Disneyland. They have everything from ribs, chicken, pork, lamb brains, cow, shrimp, etc.etc. The home style buffet is fresh and always hot. The concept is very simple. Grab a carryout container, fill it up and they charge by the pound. The actual buffet spread is fantastic and fully loaded! I did a combination of rice, beans, carne asada, tortillas, potatoes, pork, veggies and hot sauce. I managed to pile on a few homemade tamales as well. Taste just like grandma use to make back in the day… oh so righteous. So if you are in need for authentic Mexican food, butcher style cuts of meat, groceries and cases of beer. you have found it with Carniceria El Paso.

Ah, my 100th review. What better place to choose for this milestone than this place. Here’s a quick tip for you: I’m lazy and I hate to cook. Thank Jebbus for El Paso because me trying to cook rice is a disaster waiting to happen. They have some of the best hot foods ever! Who wouldn’t want some super delish Mexican food hot and ready to go at excellent prices. The hot food section is towards the back of the store by the veggies. You simply grab whatever size container you want and fill it with whatever food you want. Once all your containers are full you give it to the nice lady so she can Saran wrap those suckers and slap a price sticker on it. After that you go to the register and pay but you must first get some of their homemade tortillas, because its not a complete meal without the freshly made tortillas. Trust me you won’t regret it. They change up the menu so it varies on a daily basis but they always have rice and tamales. Everything I have tried has been great, I have no complaints about the food. The only complaint I do have is that the parking lot is the stuff of nightmares. It’s small and supposed to be one way but people choose to drive like maniacs and there’s always that one person trying to turn left that holds up traffic. It’s a mess. However I don’t blame the business for working with the space they were provided or for the fact that people just can’t drive at all. I should also mention that this is a grocery store so they have all the essential grocery store stuff. It’s also a butcher shop so they have a ton of fresh meat. I mainly come here for the food but they have other things to meet your needs. So hurry up and get here to try some of their amazing food. Don’t blame me when you become addicted to it.
