Ordered a mild hot Mix chili burrito, Burned my mouth! Went to buy a mild one and they laughed and gave it to me free. Great neighborhood atmosphere

The food here is awesome. This place is down the street from me. I’ve been here at least a dozen times and have NEVER been disappointed. I think as a whole the staff is very friendly. I’ve read these reviews and I do agree that their service, at times, is a bit lack luster. Sometimes you wait for someone to come up front. However, I honestly think they’re short staffed and may not receive the best wages.

I am appalled with the service and the actions of the gm(lianna) she literally tried to charge me when I requested for 2 salsas for each burrito. Then to say I was rude. She has been rude to me from the time I have frequented the place. However I will NEVER go back. I like their burritos and have referred it to locals due that I am in the industry. Foods good but obviously since I’m not the Hispanic descent management could careless for my loyal!

I was nervous to eat here after reading the reviews as I have been going to the one off 225 for 10 years but was closer to this location. I was pleasantly surprised about how nice the young man was who took my order. He was very polite and helpful. My food was ready rather quickly and was just as good as the other location.

I can’t really tell you if the food was good or not. My daughter and I were just in here waiting to order some burritos to go. The woman behind the counter was on the phone for the longest time. We patiently waited. And waited. And waited. She stayed on the phone, glaring at us as if we were the biggest inconvenience. Another woman, a co-worker, came along just glaring at us as well. Do we have arms growing out of our foreheads? Wow. We glanced around, and at lunchtime, we were the only customers in the place. Gee, I wonder why. We finally turned on our heels and walked out, burrito less. These people clearly don’t want business. Man, are we hungry.

I honestly try to be objective about any restaurant because at the end of the day,(for good or bad), there is someone counting receipts and paying bills to front a food establishment which is hard work and costly. So despite my consternation with the original Chubbys at 38th and Lipan, I thought what the heck. I will try this spin off and see how much they put into making a decent chile verde. So in I went and ordered a hamburger with green chile. The burger was medium sized and everything was pretty awesome. Meat, buns, lettuce and tomato were all fresh. I then critically evaluated the green chile sauce, which was ordered hot as opposed to mild. It came on the side as a sauce which was great for dipping and not just straight canned green chile plunked on top ‚(although that is ok anyway as very little food can be said to «not» be improved by green chile !). It passed just fine and was adequately spicy and tasty enough to merit pride methinks to any decent green chile lover. Tad heavy on the cumin and a little light on actual green chile flavor, but that is only under a microscope and coming from a lifelong chile eater who has tasted the best including ABQNM cuisine(and believe me those Albuquerquiens don’t mess around when it comes to chile). So it passed muster for me and if I am in the area and the budget permits– definitely will try something else there. Gracias.

the food is pretty good! mainly their enchiladas and burritos are the best! but the girl who works up front is a b****! i have never been in a place with such terrible customer service. she is very sarcastically rude when you have questions about the food and always acts like she has better things to do than to do her job.

NEVERGOHERE! Service was slow beyond belief. As I know it a burrito contains beans, rice and then a protien NOT just chicken in a tortilla. Not to mention the smothering sauce tastes like Chinese food! Will never go here again and I recommend the same for all.

One of my favorite breakfast burritos around! Ham and hot green chile inside if you want a traditional breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs from the flattop.

This location single handedly turned us off of Chubby’s in general. The service can be quite rude. The food is slow to come out. If I’m near the one on Abilene, I’ll go there before I try this one again.

This place isn’t going to make it. Cold food, no beer with my burrito and Chris the front guy doesn’t understand what it takes to keep people coming back. Ordered my usual bean and beef deluxe with half hot half mild and asked for a small amount of green chili. Chris said ok $ 1.50! Are you kidding me? Your going to nickel and dime me when it could of just offered a small amount? Wow! Just wow! Plus the beef was burned bad and the food was cold. This kid hasnt a clue and no one that owns it is around. Man to bad I was looking forward to a Chubbys in the neighborhood… I’d pass if I was you! I know I am.

Horrible staff and the food is nasty cold when they finally end up bringing it to you. This isn’t a place we will be returning to.

I stopped in here the other morning on my way to work to grab a breakfast burrito. I had been driving past for the past couple weeks and saw their $ 2.99 breakfast burrito that included free coffee. Don’t bother. First, I waited about 5 minutes(there was nobody else in the restaurant). The 2 girls in the kitchen looked at me but never came to take my order. I finally walked up behind the cash register to the serving window and the girl that came over acted like she was doing me a favor by taking my order. I asked her about the special, and she pointed to the menu and said, «that is what we have!». The $ 2.99 burrito has eggs and that’s it. Oh, you want cheese? Sorry. That’s extra. Chile in the burrito? Yep. That’s extra. You want meat? That’s extra too. So I ended up ordering a chorizo with cheese and it ended up costing around $ 4.00. So after about 10 minutes, she comes to the serving window and says, «here’s your burrito.» I did notice that when she was putting it together she used her bare hand. No plastic gloves. She drops the bag with the burrito in it on the server counter and turns around and walks away. I say, «excuse me, but I would like some salsa.» She says, «oh, you want salsa? Here!» And then she drops one on the counter. I will never go back. The burrito ended up being wrapped very loosely and almost came apart when I ate it. It wasn’t bad, but the whole experience left me angry. Do yourself a favor and stop in at Sabor on Arapahoe. Their service is awesome, fast and the burritos are huge. Price is around $ 3.50 and without a doubt far better than this joke of a place called Chubby’s. Management: do yourselves a favor and either train the early morning staff in customer service or fire them and hire someone new!

There are way too many Mexican food places in this town for this place to have the prices it does and small portions. I ordered a large chili cheese fry and it came in a small container and when I questioned they stated it was the same amount but in a smaller package, knowing it was a load of bull just went on because I was running late. Point is, if you have a choice go to the next mexican place down the road.

So I come in to eat lunch took the person 10mins to finally come out and take our order. Then when ordering the young girl was very rude like she had other things to do. Bad customer service I do not reccomend this place. To add on top of it the food was OK.

Stopped to grub some breakfast burritos this morning and the teenage gal running the front end could only have more clearly expressed her disdain for life, work, and all things living if she had taken out her head phones and cussed all the customers out. No welcome greeting, no thanks for the business, no eye contact. NOCUSTOMERSERVICE. I watched her interaction with myself and several other customers and it was par for the corse for her. Sad b/c the greasy spoon breakfast burritos I expected were great — her lack of service and her typical bad teenage attitude should be hidden in the back until she grows up a bit.

I had lunch here with my family. We all ordered sopapillas they were probably the worst I’ve ever had. It wasn’t even fluffed up, it was flat and crispy. Definitely not going back to eat here!

Hey it’s a chain! All of the times I have gone the service is quick and friendly. Colorado is full of fickle green chili connoisseurs. I like theirs, it’s not the best I have had, but it does keep me coming back for more. I like the basic smothered chicken burrito or smothered bean burrito deluxe; both are extremely difficult to mess up as far as Tex/Mex/American fare go. I always get take-away and this place has been good to me. I’ll be back soon.

To me Chubby’s is a step up from Taco Bell. However it sounds, I don’t mean this as a bad thing. In fact, sometimes I crave their heartburn inducing green chile! I generally stick with the basics here, either a Mexican Hamburger or a Beef/Bean Burrito. It isn’t earth shattering, it is basic stick to your ribs Mexi-American fare. Like I said, when I am in the mood I love it! This one is off Parker and Belleview and is a pain to get into. You really can only get in by going to the light and entering the parking lot from the back(no turnouts from Parker). I guess this isn’t a biggie, but it seems like it should be easier! I must say there was plenty of parking in the strip mall and this Chubby’s was the cleanest Chubby’s I have ever been in — seriously — it was immaculate the day I was there. It was also completely dead at noon. However, the staff was friendly and it was fast. Plus my beef/bean burrito was delish. It works! I will be back :)
