This is coming from perhaps a different perspective from many of the other reviewers. I am not reviewing the facilities, which seem great, I am reviewing the service I received at the front desk. I merely had to quickly pick up a book. There is an Asian woman that was working at the front desk on the day that I came in who was so dismissive and unfriendly despite my repeated attempts to smile and engage her that she literally negatively impacted my mood. There were no other patrons waiting when I got in line to be waited on and yet she let me stand there as she chatted with a fellow employee about the way something was laid out on the computer. When I finally was allowed to approach the desk, I told her I just needed to pick up an interlibrary loan. She snapped, «I need a card.» Hmmm, perhaps, «No problem, can I please have your library card?» would have been a better choice? After she got the book, still with a scowl on her face, she asked me if I wanted a receipt. I tried again to smile and engage and said, «Yes, please, I need all the help I can get.» She maintained her sour look and said«here» handing me the receipt like I was the most annoying person on the planet. I would suggest that libraries really are only as good as the representatives that the public has to deal with at the front desk. As a tax payer who helps pay this woman’s salary at this public library, I was very, very disappointed in her attitude. It is a privilege to work at the Aurora library. She should treat it as such. I think it really hit me strongly because up to that point in my day I had received just exemplary customer service from every other place I had visited.

Great location, great layout, great collection. I have books come on over to this location from all over the Aurora library service area – love this service! Staff is very organized and professional. Love the upstairs little seating nooks and corners. The computer search system is always up and a breeze to use.

Summer reading program, borrow books, read them, then turn them in for gifts, coupons & other goodies!

My little one enjoys story time at all the branches. We love meeting the other little babies and moms that love reading. In comparison to the Naperville Library Storytime sessions, Aurora is not as warm and fuzzy. The Eola branch has the nicest ladies at the checkout desk, but some of the librarians, especially in the children’s section could use a little tune up. All in all, Aurora has some good Libraries!

The Eola Road branch of the Aurora Public Library is by far my favorite. I like that the kid’s section is on an entirely different floor than the adult books and that it has plenty of space for youngsters to run around. Unfortunately many of the children’s books are in various states of disrepair, but I imagine that keeping children’s books in one piece is easier said than done sometimes.

Nice clean new library near my home. Has free wireless so it’s a good place to hang out and work if you need quiet time. They also have a public computer lab if you don’t have a laptop and need to get online. Their fiction section is quite large but they are lacking in other categories like ESL, languages and travel. They can always do a library transfer as the other area libraries have more to choose from. I tutor at this location and have found the private study rooms to always be available, with a whiteboard and markers, table and 4+ chairs and have never had to leave at the 1hr mark(librarian said 1hr if someone else wanted the room)
