I love love love Clarence Thatch. He teaches some of the striking classes. So sweet and motivational. His son is actually a UFC fighter =) If you want an amazing work out but want to have fun with an instructor that cares about you this is the place for you! Trust me on this one.

Unprofessional is the name of the game here. Charging you double and then not refunding your money, refusing to work with you on membership terms if you are injured and cannot train, transferring coaches to other locations in other cities and then firing them, cancelling entire fight cards due to lack of paperwork turned into the athletic commission… the list goes on and on. Stay far, far away from this gym. That is unless you can get on their fight cards… then feel free to go in and bash around their guys for a few rounds. But chances are if you are talented enough to do that they won’t book you on their card anyways. Go see Mr. Marquardt over at High Altitude Martial Arts, or Mr. Johnson over at Innovative Martial Arts… you’ll get quality, professional instruction there.

Another first review! Boom! This place is impressive. I belong to this gym so I will try to keep this from being biased as much as possible. The place is easy to find as it is right on Mississippi, about a mile off the 225. Lots of parking out front. They have several price plans depending on what classes you want to do. A full membership with unlimited access to all classes will run $ 200 per month. They offer Boxing, Cardio boxing, Cardio Kick boxing, Muay Tai, Mixed Martial Arts, Brazilian Ju Jit-su and Crossfit. The place is still expanding and so far, they have 1 cage, 1 boxing ring and a second cage being put in. Also, there are boxing classes for kids offered a few times a week. There is a crossfit room in the back with pull-up bars, Olympic rings, kettle bells, etc. Also, there is another room in the back being taken up by a lot of punching bags. I heard talk of weights being put in the other half of this room. You can grab one of the employees(most are current or retired pro fighters) and ask them anything about fighting. They are nice and know their stuff. Come in for a free day and jump in a class. I love the variety and you’ll find yourself staying there all evening because you couldn’t leave without doing one more class. Great way to get in shape and learn a skill at the same time. The price can be hard to swallow but paying so much will keep you from being lazy about going. For all you MMA/UFC fans, this gym is owned by Bobby Lashley and you will see him working out in there often.
