Sole is a great place to get some sushi and watch a game; they project some of them up on the wall in their patio(which is a nice place to sit weather permitting). Sushi portion sizes are comparable to other restaurants’ and variety is probably a bit more extensive. I could eat the Rugby Roll all day. Plenty of TVs at their bar and although I’ve never had one there, the cocktails at least sound good if you want to spend a little extra money. Now, I’ll never speak poorly of a place where I can get a bottle of Dogfish 90 Minute IPA for $ 4.50, but my chief complaint about Sole is the lack of beer on tap. Not that Broad Street is lacking of beer on tap… you can’t throw a rock downtown without hitting a bearded hipster drinking draft beer… but it seems like a missing piece from a place with a patio that shows football games. A pretty large bottled beer and wine list should be more than enough to quench your thirst, however. The wait can also take a while, which only makes the restaurant that much more appealing. Sole seems to be doing very well in their first few months of business, and rightfully so.

I’m loving this place. The food is pretty good, reasonably priced, and the bartenders know what they are doing back there. I’ve experienced all of their daily specials and my favorite has to be half off wine bottles. Jalapeño grit fritters are highly recommended. Looking forward to it warming up outside so we can enjoy the fun outdoor space!

This place is awesome! It closes a little early, but it’s still an awesome spot. They have great specials going on during the week. I was able to catch the Wednesday special buy one get one free. I indulged on the Spicy tuna roll and the Philadelphia Roll and they where absolutely divine! Very fresh, it took awhile for them to bring it out, but I guess perfection takes sometime. I enjoyed the apple sake which was great and you can have it hot or cold, I like mine hot. My husband enjoyed the long island ice tea and he had to really enjoy it because he had two. The atmosphere is very inviting and laid back. The staff is very friendly and ready to assist when need. We also when in a on a Friday night, they have live music and word gets around, because the place was packed, again I think they close a little too early because when we got there they were no longer taking food order, that is how we ended up at Kawa. They have great outdoor seating that will be packed during the spring and summer months. I briefly reviewed the menu and that serve a wide variety of food. the Sushi menu goes from the Georgia Bullfrog, Nuclear Roll, Gamecock(for all of my alumni), the grove roll, seaside roll, and so many more. The serve burgers, salads, grilled items and specialty rolls as well. They have happy hour specials daily from 4 – 7 with domestic bottles, draughts, house liquor, margaritas, and comos. Martinis and cocktails are also available. Another treasure in Downtown Augusta. Really cool laid back spot with great things going on inside during the week. We will definitely find our way back here often.

I’m giving this place 1 star for one basic reason. I was at the bar for maybe a solid 5 minutes & no service. My friend walks up and a bar tender serves her in like 30 seconds. Not to call this place«Racist» but being the only 6’4 black individual in the establishment & all bar tenders make eye contact but none will serve me. Then yes, they may in fact be just that.

First things first– I LOVE sushi. I try the most appealing restaurant I can find in every new city or state I go to. I was stoked to hear my home town opened a local sushi joint! So, second day of opening weekend… no one was at the door to greet us, besides the door man who ID’ed me. What if I’m not coming here to drink? He mentioned nothing about the after 10pm serve-yourself rules… so we sat at our table for at least 10 minutes before finally going up to the bar, after multiple servers passed by us and our empty table, only to be told that we have to place our order there. No menus at the door, either. And for everyone that says their beer list is great: it’s nothing you can’t buy from Kroger. All in all, my review is that this place needs to stay in the Clemson college scene where it came from. How is everyone rating this 5 stars??? Have some taste, Augusta! Don’t be fooled by a nice patio and Top 40 music.

The sushi is fine but their burgers are not worth the price. The menu made the Traditional Burger sound amazing but what we got was inedible, in my opinion. The burger was DOUSED in ketchup and the meat was falling apart on a dry as the desert bun. It literally tasted like I was eating a slab of ketchup-soaked meatloaf. I couldn’t finish my «burger» and I am the the type of person that never leaves food on my plate. If you’re going to Solé, stick with the sushi. I feel like a fool for trying anything other than sushi.

Well, we didn’t love it. First off we sat at the bar… Maybe that was our downfall. The service was less than spectacular. Drinks were slow, we had to ask twice for silverware… I could understand if they were busy but the weren’t. As for the food: I had sushi. Being from OCCA I’m pretty picky. It didn’t look finished or «neat»… Nothing like the pictures that others have posted. The fish was room temperature and for me when it comes to sushi; the colder the better. There was no wasabi on the side, they don’t give you a little bowl to mix up your sauce. It just was not a win. As for the BF… He had the steak. It was slightly overcooked, completely lacked flavor. He has ended up putting some of my soy sauce on it because we couldn’t get salt and pepper from the bartender. We will definitely give it another shot, we always do for new local restaurants. But we won’t sit at the bar…

So so so good. Food and service was amazing! There were so many good sounding things on the menu that it took myself and the person with me like 30 minutes to decide. We settled on the buffalo nachos and each got a sushi roll. All deeeeeelish, and it turned out to be just the right amount of food for the 2 of us. We are in town for a work trip, and have decided we will come back a second night for dinner to try other items on the menu before we leave town!

Quick Question: Have you ever gone to a place WISHING you could find something wrong? Ok, here’s the situation. Everywhere I turned tongues were wagging: «Have you been to Sole?» «Yep, we’re going to Sole after work», «Girl, you have to try Sole» «OMGSOLEISMAHLIIIIIIIIIFE!» and a tangy mustard seed of resentment began to take root in my soul. I had to take myself over there and HATE as hard as I could, with all my might, in person. Friends, family, elders and tiny tots for Christ… I couldn’t do it, I… could.not.HATE. –Their jerk shrimp tacos that I was ready to throw to the ground in snobbish fury? I cherished every crumb and dream of their pico de gallo every night. I wake up speaking a Jamaican Patois. –Their sushi that was sure would be sub par??? I have decided to have a photo-realistic tattoo of their delightfully spiced and fresh Augusta Roll placed on my right cheek like Gucci Mane. –The steak that I knew for SURE I would have to send back for being over-cooked? More rare than a picture of Mike Tyson holding an encyclopedia. The delicious and huge potion of steak melted in my mouth as I cried bitter, salty, hater tears. On top of everything, Everyone was SO… NICE. My server with the dope pineapple watch(Hey Mr. D!), the hostess, errybody. The manager, who is a FOX, came out and introduced herself to me and asked how everything was because she is perfect in every way, and couldn’t do wrong if she tried her hardest. She fails… at failing. It was unreal. So, to be fair, I had to go on and give it my first ever **5 Star Review**. I couldn’t have been more pleased and can’t wait to go back. TL;DR: I HATE how much I LOVE Sole. Get some and let it minister to your spirit.

Something new for downtown Augusta. Indoor/outdoor seating with a modern feel. Menu variety offering everything from sushi to burgers. Loved the Fried Olives tapa! We tried 4 different sushi rolls amongst our party, all of which were very good. Our server was pleasant and attentive, offering his suggestions and socializing when appropriate. The overall experience was exceptional. I look forward to returning and spreading the word!

Jalepeno grapefruit moscow mule: Highly HIGHLY recommended! This is soooo good! Sushi: Do not order any of it. Rice was hard and not slightly sweet like it’s suppose to be. I don’t know what was going on but it wasn’t anything like what we have back home in Los Angeles. Even the Japanese supermarket sushi tastes better. No. nuh uh… The above was pretty much the only thing I tried so maybe there are better menu items I didn’t get to taste… I’ll never know. In summary, liquor yes and food no.

Downtown Augusta is becoming surprisingly happening and fun! I was in town for work and met one of my best friends who lives there for dinner at Sole. Actually I don’t think she had taken me downtown Augusta in over a decade, so I was pleasantly surprised. Sole is majorly happening. At around 8:00 on a Thursday all of the tables were seated and we had to hover around the bar for a few minutes to get seats. The hovering was totally worth it though — hello ½ off wine bottles on Thursday! Getting a bottle of Kim Crawford sauvignon blanc for $ 17 in a restaurant is always a winner in my book. We were initially overwhelmed by the menu. They offer tapas, burgers, salads, and sushi rolls.(They also have AYCE sushi on Monday and BOGO sushi on Wednesdays. That’s All You Can Eat and Buy One Get One for those who haven’t mastered acronyms.) Thankfully our awesomely attentive bartender offered suggestions. We ended up opted for the edamame, bleu cheese chicken nachos, and pink lady sushi roll. All of the food arrived quickly considering the hustle and bustle of Sole. The edamame was standard. The pink lady sushi was a really good specialty roll. I’m more of a sushi purist, so cream cheese and fried sushi rolls really aren’t my thing but I compromised on it with my partner in wine. The bleu cheese chicken nachos were the real standout though. It’s a huge plate of nachos with an ample amount of all toppings and a great spicy bleu cheese kick. Sole definitely serves up great food and drinks and boasts a fun, lively happy hour crowd. If I lived in Augusta, I’d be a regular and as a regular visitor, I am willing to forego Takosushi in favor of this new hot spot from now on.

I’ve been here several times and everything I have tried so far has been perfect. I love sushi but my boyfriend hates it so this was the perfect place for us both to come. He orders the traditional burger which is a blend of bacon and filet mignon and I get the all you can eat sushi on Mondays or the BOGO on Wednesdays. The grit fritters are odd but delicious! Fairly priced good food downtown. They have something for all types of palates

Stopped by to see what the fuss was about… Worth it and true! Wednesday is buy one get one free rolls and Monday is all u can eat off the same menu. Service was great(thanks Chris!) and the food was awesome! Great idea with the menu, not only is there a good sushi/nigiri/sashimi selection with traditional tapas, they were smart by adding salads, burgers and entrees to the menu for the«not a fan of sushi» crowd! Well played! Got a chance to talk to the owner, very nice and interested in what we had to say which was very nice! It was cool to hear that all the staff was being trained from scratch. I like that! Outside patio area is also super cute. Seats, a fire pit, heaters and a band?!? Sweet! I’m a fan definitely coming back! Looks like they may have a band tonight!

Grabbed a bite here with a friend recently. I liked the atmosphere. It is spacious. Lots of seating in the waiting area. That’s likely because you’ll wait, which isn’t a bad thing. We were told there was a 35 minute wait, but upon further review, we grabbed a seat at the bar. The wait staff was nice and prompt. They shared all of the specials/favorites. I got the Clemson Roll, I’ll give it a 5. I’ll likely try something different next time. I also had a glass of wine. They have outdoor seating, which you can see walking up to the door. Most of the seats were filled there also. Lots of folks taking advantage of the Summer weather. I want to give the food another chance, so I may get a sampler to get an idea of what I want.

After just one visit, this restaurant has now become on of my favorite places to eat in Augusta! The food and service were great. My party and I arrived on a Friday night with reservations, but it turned out that we accidentally made our reservations for their other location. No worries! Even though the restaurant was very busy, the hostess made sure we were still seated promptly and honored our reservation still! Now on to the food. This is a sushi restaurant, but the tapas looked so awesome that we did not even get around to ordering sushi. We ordered the Jerk Shrimp Tacos, Buffalo Chicken Nachos, Spinach Dip, Gyoza(dumplings), and the Grit Fritters. All were amazing. My favorite were the Grit Fritters. Next time we’ll hopefully not get full and be able to order sushi as well. We will definitely be going back.
