Nice place and very convenient. Room was clean and the only problem with the lighting. Ladies, you will need a make-up light to get dressed. Reasonable value for the money.

About what you would expect from a Holiday Inn Express. My only real complaint is the location. It’s really not very convenient and it’s in a really sketchy part of downtown. Most of downtown is pretty sketchy anyway but this must be the worst part. Your neighbors are a couple of strip bars and pawn shops. You have to walk several long blocks to get to any restaurants and have to pass what looks to be a homeless shelter where people approach you for money. I would not feel comfortable coming and going from this hotel at night. Better off staying at the HIE out off Washington Rd. More convenient to restaurants and the interstate and the area feels safer.

Clean, New and reasonably priced. This Holiday Inn Express is on par with others in the brand. The staff was polite and the rooms clean. Beds are very comfortable. Parking is gated which is nice considering the neighborhood is in renewal. My only complaints would be a lack of soundproofing on the doors. I slept fine, but a lighter sleeper might be woken by noise from the hall. Also I wish the showers were hotter. There seems to be a governor on the heat level(probably due to the damn lawyers).

I stayed at this hotel on rewards points, and the front desk worker thanked me for being a rewards club member. She then proceeded to charge my credit card for the night’s stay also. I am in the midst of seeking a refund for the double-billed room, but the hotel staff was not helpful. I was told that the refund would take 3 – 5 business days after the general manager approved it, but that the general manager was gone and wouldn’t be able to be contacted until the next week. The toll-free assistance number said that they couldn’t help me because I had first spoken to someone at the hotel. This staff member’s negligent(and, arguably, criminal) act of making an unauthorized charge on my credit card will now cost me interest, in addition to the hassle and inconvenience I will be experiencing on my next business trip. In addition to the horrible service I have received from this hotel, it is not in the safest part of town; the parking area is gated, but there is a walk-thru gate that would not lock. Additionally, there were vagrants all around the area near the hotel, and it is my understanding that there have been numerous assaults in the general downtown/riverfront area near the hotel. There are other hotels just up the road that are in a nicer area; I will be staying at one of them from now on, especially since the rates are comparable and since the rooms are nicer. This hotel is definitely below the standards of almost every other Holiday Inn Express hotel in which I have stayed. So much for elite status in the rewards program actually meaning something!

Newly built and opened in April 2014. I visited this location to check out a meeting space I wanted to use for an event. The staff was nice and accommodating. They showed me the space and let me know if could be tailored to meet my needs. Because the hotel is newer everything is nice and clean. The location is in the downtown Augusta area towards Olde Town. This is was desperately needed in the area. The only other hotel close to this one needs major updating. I’ll update after my event, but I have a feeling it will be a stellar review.
