I was quoted a price of $ 1800 to replace a compressor. When I asked for a written estimate it came in over $ 3000. When I questioned the amount I was told the person who quoted the original price was new and made a mistake. I had another quote for less than $ 2000 so I went with them. I received a bill today from Busby’s for their $ 98 «diagnostic fee». Feels like a bad Bait and Switch tactic to me.

Went to the Augusta Home & Garden show yesterday, Busby’s was there, spun a wheel at their booth for a prize… won a pen. They would not give me the cheap ass pen unless I gave them my name and email address. They got neither from me at which time they took the pen back! Very telling, they’ll never get my business!

Called Busbys to replace a very small part (ignitor) on my furnace. Estimate was for $ 575! I ended up doing it myself for $ 46 (part at Fox Appliance) and about 30 minutes time. I find their estimate a clear ripoff and in no way secures my future business. I would have paid a fair price.
