I’ve heard stories about the old lady and they must be all true. She’s simply horrible. I’ll never go back. And her soups aren’t any better. Go to Merchant Deli or Local Links which are both nearby. Anywhere but here.

We just found this little place due to a chain restaurant having crappy service. Simply soups has an awesome selection of soups and the chicken pot pie was out of this world. We will most definitely be back and with our friends. The crab bisque was creamy and addicting!

So we were looking for soup today and googled –Soup South Jersey — and found this place. Upon arriving there was one other table seated and no one around to seat us. We waited at the counter and a lady came from the back and handed us menus and said sit anywhere. We found the soup prices to be $ 4.95 for a basic soup and $ 5.95 for a cream or seafood soup by the bowl. So we ordered the chicken and seafood gumbo and a turkey club to go along with it. Unfortunately, we were disappointed in the size as their bowls are just over sized coffee mugs and not proportionate to the price paid. Also, the cream of chicken was liked water and flour cream with lots of chicken but no flavor. The chicken gumbo was ok, but not restaurant quality. So now to the turkey club. The sandwich arrives, and again, nothing special. The turkey wasn’t fresh, and even seemed like it was previously frozen Lucho meat. The sandwich was brought out on white toast, and was told that was our only choice. We had to interrupt the waitress for extra mayo. Her response to my friend was, «Mayo is not good for you!» So, overall, the service person was not very pleasant through the whole meal, the food was barley mediocre and not a place I would return to based on quality/price. I believe this place will be out of business before I could even forget how bad the food/service was and I would go back.

What a great little place! I must admit, I am a soup snob, and I LOVE the soups I have tried from here. Great variety, great taste, great price! The sandwiches are tasty too!

I have tried two of the soups at Simply Soups, and I was disappointed. I had been wanting to try the soups for a while, and I’ll admit that my expectations were somewhere in Soup Nazi territory. I tried the chicken corn chowder and the shrimp bisque. Both were lacking in flavor, very bland. Wawa’s chicken corn chowder tastes better. Honestly, I will go again. I am hoping that I just happened to pick two soups that weren’t their best, and something else will wow me. This is driven by the thought that a soup place in Audubon must have something pretty amazing to be saying open, but so far I haven’t seen it. Update to come…

We live in town and just got their soups today — I was thoroughly impressed by not only the selection, but how good it was. I got Turkey, Pumpkin & Wild Rice soup which was phenomenal and very filling without a sandwich. Just the right amount of pumpkin spice without overwhelming the savory quality. With the weather getting cold, everyone should check this place out.

My girlfriend went here today and ordered a chicken pot pie which is only served on Wednesday and Fridays(I think). This alone is a great reason to go there. Let me tell you, this isn’t something you can get from Shoprite to reheat. It has a homey feeling to it. There was white chicken meat, creamy veges, crispy crust, and fluffy potatoes on top to balance the pie. The place is a great place for a date if you’re looking for that too. Please do yourself a favor and try this place out. Hong

What a great find packed away off the main road on Atlantic Avenue. I drive past this place regularly and decided to finally check it out. They have a daily list of homemade soups available as well as sandwhiches and other lunch items. They have no website so you need to call or stop in to get a list. The list is the same every week, although I think they have specials. I went in for French Onion soup, and unfortunately they were already out of it at 1pm. That was why I only awarded 4 stars. I instead had a sweet potato soup with ham and pecans in it. It was delicious and filling. You could tell it was made by hand. A great place if you are in the area for lunch.
