I have previously reviewed this place back in late August. I recently drove past it and was amazed that it was still open for business, such as it was. At 12:20PM on the first Friday that Auburn University was open for the Fall semester, there were 3 cars and a motorcycle in the entire parking lot. There are 11 other restaurants within a two block radius of The Chop House and all of their parking lots were packed. Later that day, the student who owns the motorcycle was gassing it up at the same gas station I was using. I asked him if he had eaten at The Chop House at noon and he said unfortunately yes, that he had tried but gave up when he found a tooth pick in his mac and cheese. He told the waitress about it and she just shrugged and took the bowl back to the kitchen. He said she reappeared with a bowl of BBQ beans with no comment, apology or explanation. He would not say if he paid or not. I’m betting it does not last thru the first home football game weekend this season(9÷13÷15). If it does, don’t go there. I just looked at the choices below and the photos DONOT represent any food I have ever seen there and there is no waiter service to speak of. Noise level is non-existent because there is no one there. It is Good For: Nothing.
