Wow. It’s always so entertaining to read reviews posted by out-of-town(read Bay Area) coffee snobs. But guess what, city folk? This is a local coffeeshop cleverly disguised as a Peet’s inside a grocery store. Nobody cares about what you’re used to back in the city. This place is awesome. This truly is the place where everybody knows your name. Yeah the coffee is always the same because of the Peet’s branding. Whatevs. That’s not what brings people back. What brings people back is service with a smile by a handful of good people who care about the customer, know them by name, and have a friendly chat with them in line. I mean honestly — what grocery store coffeeshop do you know that has regulars — that not only buy coffee but sit down and chat with each other… in a grocery store! Seriously, y’all. This place is awesome. Stop in sometime. And leave your pride at home, please.

Staying for a few days at the Auburn Best Western, this Peets, located in the nearby Raley’s, was super convenient: just a few minutes walk away! The drinks were well made, and made quickly. Our barista perhaps lacked a little(or a lot) in the«service with a smile» category, but at least she didn’t take it out on the coffee…

It seemed to me like this spot did not brew up to the Peets standard. Very thin and weak compared to the usual Peets coffee shop java. I only drink Peets and the closest real Peets was in Davis, a bit down the hi way! Are the supermarket Peets to brew like the real Peets shops do? Nice and dark and strong. If I wanted thin weak coffee I would go to that other place!

These ladies are the best! Always so friendly and funny and they know exactly what I want as soon as I walk up. Large iced coffee!

Must. Have. Coffee. The morning after a long, long night of drinking a great many beers, my brain knew what it needed to get jump-started for a very busy day ahead. Hmmm, is there a Peet’s in Auburn? Thankfully, yes & right down the street from the hotel the girlfriend & I were staying. Sweet! This Peet’s is located inside a Raley’s Supermarket. From the entrance, it’s in the front left corner of the store. The folks working here weren’t minding the shop too closely & didn’t immediately notice their new customer, but were really friendly when they did come over to help me with my wake-up juice. I got an iced coffee refill of my big insulated tumbler & was all set to hit the road. I was sure glad to find a Peet’s in Auburn. For me, it’s vastly superior to any coffee from Seattle.

I love Peet’s coffee. They are always consistent and the girls that work there are very nice. They know I order a medium soy latte. Peet’s Coffee beats out Starbucks any day!!!

So glad this was open on a holiday and there was no line when Starbucks across the street was packed. Stopped on my way home to Tahoe and was back on the road in 5 min. Very friendly service and they gave me a free sample of caramel latte. Americano was tasty and I like them at Peet’s more than Starbucks, anyway. Plus, support Peet’s over ‘bucks any day, so the fact that it’s in the Raley’s supermarket only a couple hundred yards from the freeway on-ramp was great. You can use the store’s restroom, get some granola bars or snacks for a day at the resort, and get your coffee all in one stop. This is my new go-to coffee shop in Auburn when I don’t have time to stop at the local brew spots or I need to kill more than one bird with one shot.

Not a real Peet’s… They do not even accept Peet’s gift cards.

Thank goodness for this Peet’s Coffee inside the Raley’s. We go every morning when we are here on business. They offer a nice selection of warm and cold drinks. I am partial to the hot cocoa in the winter and the mocha freddo in spring/summer.

So glad Peet’s is in Auburn — even the teeny in-store version. Get a Mocha without whip(iced or hot) and it still has a strong coffee/bitterness to it like European style coffees — not like the sickly chocolate syrup stuff from Starbucks. The Raley’s folks got a basic version of Peet’s training(I asked) but make the recipes faithfully. Another great one(and cheaper) is get a hot(or iced) Americano and add a shot of chocolate(free) — and add cream if want. Be sure and get a stamp card too for 11th drink free.
