Mac’s Downeast Seafood

I just purchased 15 pounds of the BEST haddock ever!!! Seriously — this stuff is like crack .
They packed it on ice for me and I drove it home to philadelphia .
And… They ship overnight. The prices are unreal!!!
My aunt had a Clearwater lobster roll and still won’t shut up about how good it was.
As a side note — I’ve been eating fish for 36 years and this is simply the best.

Looks like a tiny shack but amazing.
I’ve eaten here 3 times this week. I recommend the lobster roll but get a little extra meat. It’s by the lbs so it can get pricey but worth it.

First time and I’ll def go back. I got a lobster roll and fries. Both exceptional. They have a tank with live lobsters inside, so the lobster is always fresh. Great service and very quick.

This place was the bomb dot com. Best lobster roll ever in the history of the universe. And the guy running the kitchen was super friendly. The [American] football with Spanish announcers on the television in the corner was also awesome.

Just stopped there for lunch. I was blown away, I mean I’ve had fresh seafood in good places before, but here the guy picked fresh scallops and clams out of the fridge, breaded and deep-​fried it right in front of us! The same he did with the french fries for other people’s order: he actually cut a potato up and fried it per order.
We had clam chowder and fish chowder which both were pretty good. And we had scallop roll and clam roll, those were absolutely amazing! Definitely will eat there if in the area.

Had lunch there today. I had a small clam dinner, wife had the small shore dinner, both were delicious. The best was yet to come. We took home two of their stuffed shrimp and one of their stuffed mushrooms. I had them for dinner tonight and they were the best. I have gotten stuffed shrimp in fancy restaurants that could not compare to these. The mushroom was just as good.
This isn’t our first time there, and definitely not our last.

I’ve been going to Mac’s for a few years now. It is an absolute must when I go to visit my mom. They are always so friendly and the food is so fresh. Specifically speaking to yesterday’s trip to Mac’s… My mom called in 2 medium lobsters and 2 lbs steamers (cooked) and a fried haddock plate. They said it would be ready at 5.45pm so my boyfriend and I went to pick up the food. There were two other couples eating in. The food wasn’t quite ready so we waited for about 5 minutes (rather wait a few extra minutes than have it waiting for me!). They packed in some broth for the steamers and we were on our way home. Everything was hot and fresh and we had our own little «clambake» without all the work and mess! I’ll be back again before the end of the summer!

Oysters are my love! But they don’t always have them. But when they do they are yummy!

Great food, comfortable and easy. I always stop here when in Auburn. Consistently good!

Awesome delicious and fantastic food. Definitely coming again if I am ever in this part of the united states. Heheheh. I’m a trucker.

Found using Unilocal and glad I stopped in. Ordered lobster roll and it’s was about a foot long!!! How did it taste… Awesome!!!

Amazing flavor!!! Casual dining. Very small eat in area. Fabulous take out. I was never really a fan of clam chowder but I think I’m converted. The lobster roll was to die for. I got the clear meat (no mayo). Fabulous shrimp cocktail so fresh you could taste the salt water. I will be back.

Half portion is not half price. Still, very good though. Looking forward to going again.

I live nearby and have made this place one of my staples. The seafood is very fresh, the staff very knowledgeable, and the value is by far the best in the area. They recently added a broiler, and I would highly recommend the baked stuffed haddock! Also, the fried foods are very nicely done, not very greasy, and overall, an excellent value!

$ 10 for a lobster roll and bowl of chowder. Had the clam chowder. Very good, very fresh. Great place to watch people order seafood while you eat for cheap.

Fresh Food! My family ordered various seafood items ranging from lobster rolls, fried clam dinner, haddock dinner, and clam chowders.
The food was fresh and never frozen. The seafood items and soups were the best we have had. The sides (French fries and coleslaw) were so so.
Summary: A simple looking place, great seafood the locals know, excellent price!!! *** Will return many times again ***

Cute little seafood place near its parent BBQ establishment. We opted for the combo of a lobster roll and fish chowder. I wasn’t overly impressed but the place did a brisk business of locals. Kind of a weird location as it’s on a stretch of road leading out of town.

Seafood here is top notch and just as good as the village inn. The owner used to work for them until they closed due to a fire. The overhead is low but the quality of the seafood is very high. The lobster prices are always competitive and they cook them for free. I have them cook them and eat in. They provide the nut crackers and meat pics and give you a bucket for the shells. No extra charge so it’s just like buying them and taking them home to eat them. Only you don’t stink up your house. Any other seafood place charges a huge markup for dine-​in lobster.

Stopped in for one of the legendary lobster rolls! I shared a large, clear lobster meat roll for $ 15. It was delicious! …although I was hoping for a bit more meat. I’ll definitely go back and try a regular for $ 10 to see how that compares. Very fresh.

Stopped in this little gem on a trip back from Mount Apatite. It was super close, super tiny, and super delicious.
The menus was made up mostly of fresh seafood, deep-​fried, and piled high on a bun, but there are also some non-​fishy items (cheeseburger, chicken tenders, ect.). The shrimp sandwich was quite tasty, as was the clam strip sandwich. I highly recommend the sweet potato fries!
If you need a quick bite to eat after a visit to Mount Apatite, you really can’t afford to miss this place. You can even pick up some fresh seafood to bring home. What’s not to love?
