I love this little store. Great products and its obvious that the manager/owner truly cares about the products they offer.

Gaia’s Basket — one of the best health food stores I’ve ever shopped, and I’ve been to hundreds!!! In fact, I do most all my shopping there. I get all my supplements, all my food items, including all my produce!!! Local organic grass fed beef and pork, local organic cage free chicken, local cage free organic eggs, they have it all!!! They have a great selection of gluten and allergen free groceries, chemical and preservative-free body care and eco-household products as well. Carol Lee(owner) and her«team», have done a great job of investigating all supplements, all products she brings into the store to make sure they are organic, non-GMO and investigates the companies that sell those products as well. They do the research, so you don’t have to. They recently bought in local organic fruits and vegetables, so that has enabled me to buy most everything I need at one location… plus they have take out sandwiches, wraps, smoothies etc… which are excellent, I probably have 3 – 4 wraps a week!!! Gaia’s Basket an awesome place to shop for all your organic, non-GMO, gluten free needs!!!

I found Gaia’s Basket by complete accident today. Well, to be honest, my mom, who knows I’m an organic, raw, vegan, paleo food lover happened to look across the street and notice an organic grocery store. As I swallowed my last bit of froyo from Tango(a special treat day for me), I urged my mom to finish hers so we could get a move on over to Gaia’s. As soon as I stepped in the door, I instantly felt at home and loved the vibe. Reggae music was playing in the background and cute yet hip art was up on the walls. The majority of all the products that I typically purchase at Whole Foods, Trader Joes, the Co-Op, and at the Farmer’s Market was found here. Including 100% organic cotton tampons(hurrah!) and Maca powder. I was so excited to even see things that I had never seen before such as pea shoots. This piqued my interest so I asked about them. I’m so thankful that the lady working here knows the products and gave me a completely honest review on them. Based on her opinion, I had to purchase them. They were so good! I can’t wait to add them to my salad tonight. My mom noted the prices seemed high, but I didn’t think so. When it comes to your health, I think it’s cheaper in the long run to purchase true and organic ingredients than to buy foods with little to no nutritional value. Put good in and get good out! The lady working here mentioned that Gaia’s Basket offers classes and recommended me to check them out on Facebook. It looks like they have had a few in the past so I am looking forward to seeing what is offered next! Also, they have pre-made food in the refrigerators which are super yummy looking. I guess during the beginning of the week, there are more choices available and you know they have to be delicious to be sold here! They also make fresh raw organic blended drinks! Next time I’m on my way up to visit my family and need real food(sorry mom and dad– goldfish crackers and cheese burritos do not really cut it for me) I’ll stop by here to supply myself for the weekend. I am so excited about this place! Props to my mom for finding this place and props to Unilocal for sending my mom and I to Tango’s so we could discover Gaia’s!

Congrats to the owners of Gaia’s Basket who have had the courage to walk the talk and take the risk of opening a wonderful health food store in downtown Auburn. When most of our grocery stores are large and it is hard to know what is really the best product to choose, you can bet that there is no compromising on the research and quality of the products offered here. I had a wonderful supergreen smoothie and purchased several products that I am excited to try, as well as some of my standards. Some items may be slightly more expensive than Cost-co ;) but it is worth it to have a small store I can go to for a nutrition packed«pick me up» or a variety of goods that I would not find in any big box store! Well done!

Gaia’s Basket is downtown Auburn’s newest addition to living a greener, cleaner, healthier life. A cute little market that sells raw/healthy/healthfood/organic type grocery items. You can buy a Kombucha, dried sea veggies, coconut butter, 100% organic cotton female hygiene products or locally grown tomatoes. Think Whole Foods, but on a much cuter, smaller and more personal level and luck for us its in our beautiful downtown Auburn. This great new little store is walking distance from my house which I am a huge fan of, and the staff/owners are a delight, answering questions and being a general wealth of information. The hours are easy and with a private parking lot in the back, there is a front door on Lincoln Way AND back door access via Lewis St. The prices seem reasonable, as reasonable as prices can be for organic/healthy, given what you are paying for YOURHEALTH… I think the prices are reasonable. I am looking forward to Gaia’s Basket opening their raw smoothie bar, I was told this would be happening in the next month or two!
