Scary. I would highly recommend avoiding this place. Service was awful, if you don’t sit at the sushi bar you will have a hard time getting served. I saw several folks come in, sit down and wait then leave without getting served. We had to request napkins, water, chopsticks, etc and I finally got up and got water for us. I ordered the beef donburi which was passable but not great. My daughter ordered the sashimi bowl(it arrived about 5 – 10 minutes after I finished the donburi) and a tuna roll and we were really enjoying it until I saw her spit out a piece of tuna on her plate– she’s 11 but I’ve never seen her reject sushi. I picked up a piece of the tuna and it smelled BAD. I was dumb enough to take a bite which I promptly spit out too. I told the waitress and she told the sushi chef(her husband I think) that the fish was bad and he proceeded to yell across the restaurant that it was Ahi tuna– I was not sure what he was trying to communicate, I’ve eaten lots of Ahi tuna and I’ve never gotten a piece that smelled or tasted as bad as what I was served there. We stopped eating, paid the bill and left.

The best place in Auburn for sushi. Fantastic selection of rolls. The spicy fried rolls are mouth watering and among the best I’ve ever had.

I love this place. Their sashimi bowls are excellent and the people are all very friendly. They always have a good special going. I can never eat enough to justify the all you can eat, but if you are a bottomless pit it’s worth it!

This is the closest sushi to our house so we’ve been here quite often. The service has always been friendly and usually prompt. There’s rarely more then one or two other tables occupied when we go in. Everything we’ve tried on the menu was good. My favorite is the hwae dub bap(I might have that spelled wrong) or bolgogi depending on my mood. My wife likes their sushi and we both love the avocado bomb appetizer.

My husband and I, along with 2 friends arrived at 8:25pm… We were promptly told by a chef behind the counter that they were closed in a very rude manner /tone of voice. We mentioned that their hours showed that they closed at 9pm on the door and online… Suffice to say, we won’t be returning here with such poor customer service!

Came in pretty close to closing last night(8:30 they closed at 9) but needed a sushi fix! My husband and I ordered 4 rolls and they were fantastic. I have gone to the Pearl location many times and always enjoyed it so we decided to stop on our way to Enumclaw. Our waiter was fantastic and on top of refills and the ladies helping clean up for the night were very nice too. We will definitely come back when in the area. My husband is kind of a sushi snob and Flying Fish has always been his favorite, they’ve never disappointed us.

NEVER coming back. My husband and I came for the all you can eat lunch, which is $ 14.99. We decided to each get three rolls to make sure we got our money’s worth. The sushi was decent, but nothing special. The restaurant was pretty dead inside, but we weren’t the only ones there. As we ate, the woman that owned the place hovered uncomfortably close to us the entire time, watching us. When my husband went to the bathroom, she chided me for ordering three rolls for lunch. «Two is enough. Too much calorie.» My husband had started to feel a little sick so he couldn’t finish his third roll, and they actually charged him for it in addition to the all you can eat price! We insisted on a to go box at that point, but I’m guessing we’ll give the rest of his roll to the dog.

Today my daughter and I had lunch here and we are normally very pleased with the food. The service is usually annoying but rude today. We ordered 4 things and the server said probably 3 dishes enough for us we were like no we want 4. Then the food came and the rolls were falling apart on the serving dish, the flavor was lacking and we had to eat with our fingers to eat it again due to the rolls not prepared well. I expressed my dislike and it was dismissed. Won’t be returning, guess a new guy is working here now and she said he is really good but I beg to differ. No apology no let me discount your bill. Very disappointed.

I guess the bar for sushi in Auburn must be pretty low. We were headed out to a concert at the White River Amphitheater so checked Unilocal and thought this place(directly off the road to the Amphitheater) looked promising given the other reviews. Our party of three got: –Gyoza — actually pretty good –Veggie tempura — a variety of vegetables: 2x acorn squash, 2x onion ring, 2x potato, 1x mushroom, and 1x asparagus(really? 1 asparagus stalk?!), but some weren’t fully cooked –The 5-roll special sampler platter. Three of the five rolls involved tempura shrimp, one had crab, and I forget the main ingredient of the last. And I think 4 of the 5 rolls had salmon atop. There was also a lot of cream cheese involved. The fish seemed fresh, but was flavorless(or perhaps was being overpowered by the copious amounts of cream cheese). The«spicy» roll was fairly mild. We were disappointed the rolls were all so similar — we might have been better off picking a sampler of our own from the menu. On the plus side, these were all full rolls(about 8 – 10 pieces each) and our table of three(including two large-appetite men) couldn’t finish everything. Though there was only one or two tables to attend to in the restaurant, we had to ask for refills on soda and water. However, we only had to ask the first time — she was on top of it after that.

The actual sushi and sashimi was good. The iced tea tasted like tap water. Service was polite. Will come back to try more of the rolls. If you like tamari soy sauce bring your own because they don’t have any.

We happen to see this while in the area. We were a bit nervous because no one else was there, but we were nicely surprised. Very friendly, fast service, good size portions, and very tasty.

My yummy new stop for FRESH sushi. Their menu is broad and covers all types of eaters; including vegan and vegetarian. Soups, korean bbq, lots of roll varieties. I was not a sushi fan til recently. and now it seems when I want fresh, healthy snacky foods-sushi is my new go to. This recently opened in Auburn, but I was told the first one is in Tacoma. Before it came the location has been so many different food, coffee places. So some of the wall colors are the same, but when I walked in, it was refreshing to notice some layout changes and add-ons. I was pleasantly surprised about the bar area with seats being added. Felt like a great real sushi house.(watching the sushi chef masters roll and cut) My favorite is the Amigo Roll! Oh luv and joy. Three varieties of fish topped: tuna, salmon, and swordfish. inside is the crab mix with avocado and cucumber. Its topped with a drizzling of mango sauce. It is SOOOOYUM. I’ve been here a couple of times now and I bring someone different each time. They love it too. Its always been clean, always been fresh and quality. Alex is friendly and helpful with the menu. Thanks Flying Fish for bringing Auburn a great high quality sushi joint to satisfy any craving. p. s. the only reason its not a 5star with me is the décor does not totally appeal to my style. But it is clean and has a nice layout with new furnishings. A nice place to bring your spouse or date. You wouldnt be embarrassed. The sushi is a 5 star
