The Euphoria Day Spa is a little spa tucked into an unassuming strip mall in Auburn. I found out that they were offering a special spray tan for $ 35 and decided to give it a try. Who doesn’t want to go from pale to bronze in under 8 hours with no sun damage? Plus I wanted to try it now before my annual trip to the Cape this Summer. I was greeted upon arrival by Erica & led to the tanning room. She was very professional & put me at ease imediately. Good thing too since I was about to be standing in my undies for a bit w/her. The tanning process was easy. Stand, hold your breath, turn & pose. It is a bit chilly but not uncomfortable. We were done in under 22 minutes. I love the results & after 3 days I’m still golden. Erica suggested moisturizing to keep the color longer. Here are some tips that I have if you do this: Don’t go if you are allergic to nuts — the pigment is derived from pecan shells. Exfoliate before you go but no lotion! Bring a shower cap to protect your hair If you are doing this for a special ocassion — I’d schedule it 2 days before the event — not the day of. Don’t shave right before you go. I did and the pigment settled into my pores a bit. Don’t go on a hot day when you might sweat after — you’ll get streaky. Stay away from water for 8 hours — I didn’t and ended up w/some marks on my hands & feet — but that was my bad. Also, ladies, if you can be so bold, go topless. I wore an old bra & let’s just say that I wish I hadn’t… You know how it looks when you get a sun tan on your face but you were wearing sunglasses… yeah, it looks like that. Just a note about the location — parking is in back but you walk around to the front for the reception area.
