Excellent choice thanks to Unilocal reviews. This place is great. I have to say that I love Italian food and was looking for a genuine place to eat home made pasta and meals just like there. Mama mia! I’ve found it. The atmosphere is kind of fancy, the food is great and the staff very friendly. I had the chance to have a musician playing and singing during my dinner which gave the place a really romantic tune. Unfortunately I was by myself… Anyway, if your looking for a real Italian restaurant: this is your place!

Wayyyyyyyy overpriced for the quality of food. We spent $ 120 on a meal for two and it was just super unsatisfying. The flavor a were kind of bland. I had a noodle/truffle dish and my girl had the spaghetti. An Italian place should make great spaghetti and this one doesn’t. The service was decent though. No complaints there. Not amazing or special in anyway but it was what it’s supposed to be.

This was our first time dining here. Thanks to «yelp» we found it! We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful interior and friendly atmosphere. What topped it off was the exemplary service by our waitress Danielle. She made us feel«right at home», which is always appreciated… especially at an Italian restaurant right? … The food was nicely presented, and flavorful. I will definitely come back here,(as long as we can request Danielle as our waitress…) If you’re going to have a nice dinner in Auburn, this is the place to go!

Wow! We had the most wonderful dining experiences at Don Giovanni’s! My husband and I live in California, but come up twice a year to see family in Auburn, WA. We have eaten at Don Giovanni’s twice now, and the food is authentic and absolutely wonderful! Don Giovanni and his wife both introduced themselves to us on our first visit, and we felt like royalty visiting a warm and loving family eatery. I was happy to find out recently that this place was voted Auburn’s best Italian restaurant of 2014 for good reason. Owners Michelina and Giovanni are both classically trained Italian chefs, and their expertise and quality ingredients really showcase their dishes. My family and I have sampled the lobster ravioli, spaghetti with meatballs, grilled salmon, etc, and every dish was divine. We even sampled a variety of their homemade desserts, and I honestly have to state that of the four we’ve tried, I can’t say which is the best, as they are all fabulous. When we asked what was the secret of their amazing tiramisu, we were told all their desserts were made with love! Sure tasted like it! I hope Auburn will continue to support the Giovannis and their humble, yet unique establishment with its exquisite Italian food!

I felt so welcomed just walking in… And then the love continued through the entire experience. I was lucky enough to enjoy this traditional(meaning I really felt as if I were in Italy!) Italian restaurant on a day where the owner’s wife blessed us with a little bit of opera! The pasta and scallops were melt in your mouth amazing and my friend enjoyed the lobster ravioli! I’ve never tasted a better ravioli! Enjoy life & stop by… You can be quick or take your time. Buon appetito.

We showed up at 9pm after a movie. We were seated promptly after being greeted by the hostess. It was late so our server was the bartender even though we were seated in the dining room. By the entrance, Oh well. The bartender was very accommodating with our ignorance of Italian wine helping us wade through the extensive wine list. I had the seafood spaghetti, my wife the spaghetti and meatballs. I enjoyed my meal very much even after biting through a sneaky piece of shell. I was a little jealous after seeing the size of my wife’s meatballs. Huge! We saved room for dessert and took our leftovers in a box because they give you plenty of food. Oh I almost forgot, the noodles were cooked to perfection. I remarked to my wife that I wish I could cook them that way at home. Now the dessert. The tiramisu was good but I’ve had better. The cannolli was a bit different. It tasted more like cheese with a little bit of sweetness. To be fair tho I’ve only had one other in some dive in Madison Square Gardens many years ago. That was sweeter and softer, maybe a cheap representation. I don’t know. The food here is definitely of higher quality. When we go back we probably won’t do dessert but definitely do some dinner. The owner was a big guy with a big voice. As we stood up to leave he walked into the bar, noticed we were leaving and yells out«thank you for coming in, we appreciate it sir». I thought, what a nice guy. Kudos sir for taking notice of the last stragglers and making us feel good about coming into your beautiful establishment.

The service, atmosphere, and food were outstanding. I’ve been in Washington for 4 days, I’ve been really disappointed with the food. I was not disappointed tonight. Carlo was attentive and amazing, his wine recommendation was spot on, and his service was unparalleled. I even liked the traditional Italian music that added so much to the atmosphere. Auburn doesn’t have a lot going for it, food wise, so make sure you go out of your way to stop here, it’s absolutely worth it

I’m so very disappointed in them tonight. We were just here for my Birthday in April and they were fantastic and even gave me a free Tiramisu!!! So tonight, my bf and I got off work late, called them at 9:40PM(they close at 10pm) and we were just down the road. We asked if it would still be ok to come in and they said yes.. we told them we were about 6 minutes out. We got to the door at 7 minutes after the phone call and they wouldn’t let us in. Then we called and they said«you were too late, we’re closed now!» … are you kidding me?? I couldn’t believe how rude they were after we JUST called and they had said it was fine. I can’t lie, this place has the BEST Italian you were ever find. It’s not disgusting and processed like Olive Garden. It’s all fresh… but to be treated like that after giving these people such great respect and loyalty is just awful. Had they said«no its too late, don’t come in»… we would have just waited until tomorrow. So distasteful. My boyfriend is Italian. We considered them like family. Not anymore.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary last night and in my typical fashion I looked to Unilocal reviews to decide what would be a good choice, which in turn lead me here. I should probably start by saying my wife nor I am Italian so I cannot speak to the genuine state of the food and the like. What I can say is that as 2 people who love to eat and enjoy a multitude of different types of dishes we were impressed with the quality here. The service here was great. Our server held the perfect balance of attentiveness and privacy. Our drinks were always full, our table always clean and our questions were answered clearly and politely. Food as I alluded to was fantastic. It did take some time, but this is not a food court or Olive Garden, so in getting fresh food with quality I am more than happy to wait and even this being said the wait was pretty minimal. Enough time to enjoy the bread with balsamic vinegar and oil, chat a bit and just enjoy the time together. Finally, dessert was the fantastic and the espresso I ordered with my tiramisu reminded me of the fantastic coffee of places like Paris. Pricing was fair and I believe well worth it. Again it’s more than what you might pay else where but the quality and experience make it worth while. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely amazing. I don’t have a single complaint about this place. I ordered the gnocchi pomodoro, tiramisu and a glass of Riesling. Made fresh to order and worth the wait. I could not get enough of the tiramisu though, I’ve searched from Tacoma, all the way to Bellevue and I must say their tiramisu tops them all, easily. The service is great too. Everyone is professional and friendly. And the atmosphere is perfect for dates as well. Must go if you love REAL Italian food! The price is 100% worth it.

Food is good, but owners need customer service skills. My wife and I went out Friday night to use a gift card I got her for Christmas. We have kids so it should be a treat. We all waited close to an hour for dinner and the couple next to us waited even longer. When they told the waitress(twice) they had to leave and asked to get their meal«to go» it still took 15 more minutes and the owner was so unapologetic we could not believe it. We thought the owner was coming back to apologize with a bottle of wine, but no, he was trying to add it to their bill. Wrong. My wife and I had good food, but when the bill came the waiter told us sorry, the gift card was expired. There was no expiration date on the card and when I got home I realized it was 92 days old. I asked the waiter to discuss this with the owner, and 15 minutes later he was back with an amended bill. Another couple behind us returned one of their dishes, and the other couple beside us had to negotiate their bill. The slightly humorous part is everyone who works there is really loud, so when they have a «discussion» it becomes public. Made for some head turns and eye rolling among the rest of us. Vince’s in Federal Way is our favorite Italian Restaurant and will continue to get our business.

Really super cute family run Italian place. We had an amazing experience and felt like part of the family. We met Giovanni, owner and brother to the maker of the awesome brunello wine we had with dinner. This was our first time here, but we’re already planning on becoming regulars.

Service was really slow. We were going to a show and spent quite a bit of time looking around for our server. Food was just ok. House made lobster ravioli was pretty lacking in lobster flavor and needed more tomato sauce. Dry. Had an arugula salad that was pretty unremarkable. Dining room needs a new coat of paint. Cost over a hundred bucks with a bottle of wine. Not worth it.

Three words to sum up Don Giovanni? Charming, authentic, and inviting. A friend and I were in the Auburn area and needed some nourishment after hitting the outlets. We Unilocaled restaurants in the area, were craving Italian, and decided to give Don Giovanni ad try after reading positive reviews. The atmosphere is very inviting. We had the choice of sitting in the bar area(younger folks) or the dining room(older folks & dates), and we opted for the dining room. The restaurant had just had a crazy night and were still recovering from Valentine’s Day, but they did a good job of attending to us. After eating two baskets of bread with olive oil and balsamic(so addicting), I had the farfalle with chicken, and my friend had lasagna. Both were good, but what really made this experience was the tiramisu. SOTASTYCAKES. I’m guessing it’s made in-house, and it’s a generous portion. Make sure to save room for this — you won’t be sorry. The owner comes around to every table and personally greets each customer. That was a very nice touch. As a Seattle-ite, this was a nice detour from the city, and I would definitely return when in the Auburn area.
