I recently stayed in the Rose Room with my boyfriend for an upstate getaway. This B&B came highly recommended to us from two other couples who had stays here. Gail and Gary are just wonderful people who invite you in to share a piece of their home. We are a younger couple(early 30s and late 20s), so in some B&Bs I find a bit of fussiness from the proprietors that makes me feel like I am in a museum rather than a relaxing, homey sanctuary. Well that is NOT a problem here! Wicker Garden is personable. Guests have access to a common living room with fireplace and cozy couch, snacks, wine glasses, mugs, coffee, tea, etc. We sat here one evening chatting away with Gail and Gary, then ordered a pizza delivery. Gail provided us with plates and everything we needed to enjoy a night in(in our amazing accommodations, which brings me to the room…) Rose room– spacious, with a stately canopy bed, a gas fireplace, a couch and a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and plenty of hot water. It was truly our sanctuary for a wintry weekend. The bed had beautiful coverlets and sheets, down pillows. I don’t sleep as well at home! And even on 0 degree days, it was plenty toasty all day and night. Now what’s a B&B without a wonderful breakfast? This one was top notch. Great, fragrant coffee served in large one-of-a-kind mugs. It seems like a baked fruit, a warm bread and an egg dish makes a basic template for what to expect, and Gail can accommodate any dietary needs. Finally, the grounds/location are picturesque. I only regret I forgot to read or ask about the history of the property. There is a red barn and plenty of open surrounding fields, stars out bright at night. Even snow covered, it looks like the cover of a story book. I highly recommend a stay here. You really can’t go wrong. And it was conveniently located for wine touring and proximity to the town of Auburn.

We spent 3 nights at this charming B&B. Gail and Gary the owners are gracious and well seasoned owners. They have thought of pretty much everything you could want or need during your stay. We stayed in the Garden Room. It was appropriately decorated to the theme. The shower and whirlpool were wonderful with plenty of hot water. All the finishing touches were thought of in this«homey» bed and breakfast. Snacks, wine glasses, coffee and tea + mugs, sundries if needed. The breakfast were tasty and sizable in portion plus delicious abundant coffee. Breakfast consisted of coffee or tea, juice, a fruit with yogurt or granola, fresh muffin and then main course of some home baked breakfast goodness. The outside porch was our go to place to plan our day or unwind and relax after our day. My only reason for not giving them 5 stars are two things: hard, thin pillows and road noise on the porch. I am very particular about my pillow and usually just bring my own to avoid issues. The road noise is beyond their control and unfortunately part of owning an old farmhouse– they were simply built close to the roads. However, those minor things aside, this is a wonderfully run country B&B.
