I stayed at the Hawthorn Suites while I was in town of an event at Oakland University. It’s just a quick 5 minute drive from the campus and located nearby to tons of stores and food places. Great Lakes Crossing Outlets is also just a short drive away. The hotel gym is small but nice with a TV. If you would like to change the channel you can just ask a staff member for the remote. It’s an extended stay property so there is a mini kitchen in the room with a bunch of cooking equipment in it. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was sincere and helpful. Breakfast was a normal continental with warm foods as well including eggs, bacon and grits. My one complaint is that the walls were really thin and we could hear the person in the room above us all night.

Checked in last minute for one night due to a hiccup at first hotel choice. This hotel also allows pets which is nice. Front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. They offered to put us on the first floor near the exit because we had our dog with us. Hotel was was quiet and room was spacious with full fridge, kitchenette area, including stovetop and microwave. Queen bed was not very comfortable but room was clean and looked to be recently updated. You would never know this hotel allows pets as it is very clean and smells new. Continental breakfast was good and had a nice variety of choices. Good coffee too! Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here for a week on business. Other reviews said Internet was slow but I had no problem streaming a movie while I was remotely connected to my office and editing documents. Room was clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of blankets and pillows, something I usually find lacking. Speaking of the bed, whenever I stay at a hotel I do a thorough bedbug check. I was pleased to find a pristine mattress under a zippered mattress protector and an additional mattress pad. Three nights a week they have hot appetizers free in the dining area. There was nothing bad about this stay, except I was rooming below someone whose name I can only guess was Stompy McBoulderShoes, but that’s not the hotel’s fault. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. I would stay again.

I have been treated like a queen! The staff is amazing! I needed to switch rooms twice, and they were extremely nice. They go out of their way to be friendly and helpful, and are genuinely concerned about us(guests). I will be staying here from now on when I have to come out here and highly recommend staying here!!! The food is good, the place is very clean and smells nice. The grounds are well kept and everything is well maintained.

Very happy with my family’s stay here. We booked in for one night and then extended because we weren’t able to get into our place yet. They were super nice, bent over backwards to accommodate our needs, and even respected my family’s needs with an autistic child, dog, and cat. Wifi was certainly more workable than reported in other reviews, as neither my wife or I had issues on our phone or computer with general email and catching up. I would definitely recommend this location in the future.

Well. Worst hotel ever! There are three main reasons. First, internet! There is a very very slow internet. The wifi always is disconnected. And there is no place for network cable in the room. Moreover, when I use the public computer in the ground floor, staffs will always come to me and remain me that I cannot use this computer for a very long time. In fact, there is no one who wait for use this computer. They consider about Electricity? Maybe. Btw, there is only one computer there. Thus, I decide to use my own laptop and buy a cable because of the suck wifi. At the second day, they even lock the box and I cannot use the cable. Second, house clean. Never be neat if there is not lots of tips. I always gave 5 dollars at the beginning. But I still didn’t satisfied the cleanness. Finally, attitude. Most of staffs’ attitude is good. However, some of the staffs will keep watching u when u are using some public stuffs. Like u are a thief. I didn’t feel even a normal respect at all. Gym is also suck. After all, there is not a place for business, study or even living. I am really upset! Hope ppl won’t have this experience like me.

I was staying in one of the«renovated» rooms… I wonder what the non-renovated ones looks like??? Cabinets are WAY outdated… rooms are small!!! No couch, bathroom tiny! Mismatched chairs. channels on TV are bad. Internet quality is horrible. I figured I could suck it up and stay a day or 2 before switching hotels, but when I woke up and there WASNOWATER!!! I was done! I now see why it was so cheap to stay here!

Not a good place if you are here on business. Internet is slow and previous reviews have said that it was also slow. I should have checked before we booked. 3MB would not download on my iPad because of the slow speed. It was going at 2KB(yes KB) a second. I had to tether my phone to get anything done. Everything else was ok which is why I gave it 2 stars.
