Recently MFA Castle has gone through some changes, and I understand that that can create a little chaos. I am not on here to bash MFA Castle. I have never had a bad experience with them. Because of the changes, my visit yesterday, with my daughter, to get her kindergarten exam and immunizations, was terrible. The PA who saw her was very kind, and did really well with her. As with most kids who are about to get shots, my daughter was nervous. Because of the changes, they had an MA in training who was going to be giving the shots. What I didn’t care for, was that 3MA’s came in the room, which was intimidating, and discussed in the room which arms to give which shots, and whether or not they were sub q, or IM. I don’t understand why this couldn’t have been done outside of the room. My daughter was freaking out as soon as they came in, but then had to sit there and be subjected to the conversation, and the wait, while they discussed it. I am not a mom who babies her kids when it comes to shots. We discuss that it is happening and what it will be like.(Of course, I comfort them when they are getting them and afterwards) Yesterday, though, I wanted to cry with her. In hindsight, I really wish I would have told them that I did not want the trainee to do the shots. I really think that they need to ask the parents if it is ok, for the trainee to do the shots. I understand that she has to learn, but not on my kid… not the way they did it yesterday,
