Make sure you double and triple check your bill before paying anything to this place. They charged me 17,000 dollars for a cat scan.(Yes that’s 17 thousand) when you call the billing department and question it they just say«that’s what it costs for the „luxury“ of a cat scan in the er.» Not to mention getting charged for 3 X-rays I never even had. So a 5 hour visit cost me 26 thousand dollars…

This hospital is terrible. It’s dirty, the rooms are small and cramped. No private rooms just double rooms. They are to short staffed. Very far behind the times when it comes to modern healthcare.

My review is based on the courteous and excellent customer service I received from one of the staff members whose name is David Ortiz, and RN. He showed compassion, concern, and offered me essential items in life basics to be more comfortable. He is a person that truly loves his work, and it shows! I hope his boss Sandra Whitfield knows what a valuable asset he is and recognizes his loyalty and devotion. Hats off to you David… Anne Marie Jeffrey

World Class Medical Center. This was the first facility in the United States to be named in Memorial to President John F Kennedy. It’s also the #1 choice for care in Palm Beach County

I was seen right away and was diagnosed right away as well. I was in the ER room less than a half hour and was billed $ 1400.00 by the hospital and then another $ 250.00 by the ER doctor. I had to pay the entire bill as I had a $ 6000 deductible. All they did was blood work. What a rip off !!! I will never go there again. I guess that is why they have urgent care centers. I bet you if I didn’t have insurance I would not have had to pay a dime. What’s wrong with this country.

You would think that the emergency room staff would realize how they get paid but, I guess not because one very mean and very snotty nurse and her side kick basically yelled at us today for bringing an 89 year old women in because at 1:00 she was fine and then at 2:30 she did not remember anything that happened yesterday so of course we thought it was a stroke but the nurses told us they they only take care of real emergencies. So, I guess the commercials about strokes etc are just a bunch of junk and should be ignored but us just regular folk. It is my impression that the staff feels if they run every one off they can put their feet up, if that is the case maybe the hospital should renovate the VERYLARGEER waiting room and make it a nurses lounge. They certainly will not need all that space. We were scolded enough tonight to learn our lesson no more JFK and rest assured we will make sure EVERYONE we know hears about our scolding in no uncertain terms.

The final bill for my heart attack was $ 117,000. It was so even though they used a very simple stent operation that took around half an hour, for which $ 33,000 was billed. They were going to do another stent and didn’t, but they still billed $ 33,000 for the stent they did not do. Even though I got great service from the operating staff of the hospital while I was there, it was a bit sickening to hear people tell me not to worry about the bill, and then get a bill for half the cost of my house. There is no way three days in a hospital is worth half as much as a house that you can live in for a lifetime. Ironically enough, my insurance only paid $ 11,000 and I was stuck with a $ 1,200 deductible. The hospital wrote off almost $ 100k! Plus doctor bills, which are billed separately, of which my share was about $ 500. The actual doctors who did the operation only got about $ 1,500! So just providing the Cath Lab and its staff and equipment was the majority of what I was charged. I would prefer seeing the medical staff get more and the hospital get(a lot) less. How can you possibly justify billing $ 117,000 and then settling for $ 12,000? Anyone without insurance should try and settle these bills at approximately 90% off. Don’t let them con you into handing over your life savings to them. Never have I been charged so much, and received so little in terms of value for money, as the times I’ve spent in a hospital, whether as a patient or a friend/relative of a patient. I’m glad I didn’t get another heart attack just looking at the bill … (I’m not sure how to rate this because I don’t think any hospital’s billing practices would have been significantly different — this is an industry wide disaster and not specific to JFK).

Short wait time and very friendly ER staff. I waited about 15 minutes on a busy night and was seen and admitted to the floor within about 3 hours, which is pretty quick for an ER!
