I used to love this place but they are cutting corners and it shows. I like the lunch order size of shrimp curry b/c I don’t want so many shrimp. But I was 8 minutes past lunch time so had to get a dinner order. I asked them to leave 4 of the 8 shrimp off. The dish used to come with a fair size bowl of rice. Today, a little tiny cup of rice. I asked for more rice … an extra $ 1. How bout in exchange for the 4 shrimp I’m paying for but not getting. Nope. It’s a shame. It’s a cute place and the food is good but getting greedy on pricing and stingy on the food is not going to work in this small town local restaurant. Not at all.

I was referred to this restaurant by a coworker so I decided to give it a try. I love that the restaurant setting was warm and cozy. I had the Tom Kha Gai and Pad Se-Ew Chicken. It was delicious and flavorful and the service was nice. I would recommend and would definitely visit again.

We went to Kunya Siam based on the Unilocal ratings and were not disappointed. The restaurant is smallish and cozy. It had nice décor and lots of live plants and flowers. It was cutely decorated for Halloween. Even though they were packed, our service was very good and we didn’t wait long for our food. I had the pad Thai with chicken rather than shrimp and it was great. Really good portion size, and good solid flavor. My daughter had a beef and noodle dish based on the servers recommendation and she really liked it too, although it said it was medium spicy and really wasn’t. The best part was the price. I think our bill for two meals came to like $ 38 including tip. We’ll definitely be back.

Great family owned and operated Thai restaurant. Love the authentic cuisine. My favorites are the calamari and grilled satay apps, the pad thai and panang curry chicken hit the spot, offering a sweet & spicey flavor. I would highly recommend checking this place out, whether dine in or take out. It’s located conveniently across the street from a movie theater for the perfect date night! Enjoy!

papaya salad was on a bed of lettuce, more lettuce than papaya. i woukd call it a garden salad with papaya shavings on top. beef with flat noodles were extremely small portioned.(pad kee mao) overall the food was good and full of flavor, everything was fresh, however, for a 23 dollar take out meal. i expect to be full afterwards, i wasnt. im 6’0ft. 175 lbs, obviously nothing to brag about. with that said i probably wouldn’t order here again under the shear fact i ordered an entrée and salad, finished all of it, and still left hungry/unsatisfied. they are stingy on their portions

Amazingly delicious food. Great staff. Nice atmosphere. Very reasonable price. People kept coming up to kitchen staff thanking them. And when we got our food, it proved to be very tasty

Best Thai food in the area. I’ve been going here for years and I’ve never had a bad meal. The service is always on point too. Everyone’s so friendly and accommodating! The shrimp pad Thai is awesome I get it every single time. The veggie dumplings are also really good and very different from anything I’ve had before. I would definitely suggest trying this place it’s awesome especially if your in the mood for something different!

Great, authentic thai food! It’s not salty, so I enjoy is as it is more true to flavor. Though I didn’t like their fried rices, I enjoy alot of the other menu items! This place is very good !! It’s not a restaurant where you can expect top service and what not, but at the end of the day it’s just a cute place with great food !!

Was in the mood for Thai and fired up Unilocal to see what was close. I’ve only recently discovered just how good Thai food is. We got here late but the staff still accommodated us — they let us know the kitchen would be closing soon but we were more than welcome to order and stay. I ordered the basil fried rice with beef. I couldn’t eat it fast enough. Just delicious. I would have liked a little bit more spice because I enjoy punishing myself.

Reliably delicious, nuanced Thai food. I often grab takeout here when coming home on the ferry, but am glad to eat in whenever the opportunity presents.

Ran in for takeout and got a host of dishes to share with the fam. Red curry, green curry, massaman curry, pad thai, tom kai gai. My favorites were the pad thai and massaman curry. I’d put this as the best Thai food within 10 miles.

Wow, excellent Thai food. I’ve been to Thailand several times, and Kuyna Siam is pretty awesome. The restaurant is very cozy and decorated with green plants, flowers, Thailand posters, and what appeared to be a diorama of the royal family using Barbie dolls(?). The menu is short(which I find to be a promising sign), and we picked from the dozen or so lunch specials which included rice and a starter. Mrs. Publicus ordered the Pad Thai, and I had green curry. Both dishes were obviously prepared fresh for us, and what a treat– well spiced, and with the perfect sour, salty and sweet balance. It’s unusual to order Thai standards and to be impressed, but this place is really a find. We’ll definitely stop in next trip to the area.

Below average, overly salty, cheap chewy beef and shrimp, inauthentic and overpriced. Not really Thai food, more like pan Asian with Thai aspirations. It seems to be the only Asian restaurant around here, other than a take out place, which could conceivably garner 3 stars by default but the hostess’s badgering to buy appetizers and drinks when we didn’t want them was just too annoying. Easy parking and cute town, though!

Have to say very impressed with the Thai food here. We only eat Thai in the city because most other places fudge it up badly. So we decided one night why not we never been there and she was in the mood for Thai. Well to our surprise it was delicious. Pad see yu. Pad Thai it was all great city quality. I highly recommend it.

I recently discovered the joy that is Khao Soi at a Burmese/Filipino fusion restaurant in NYC’s LES and realized that Burmese/Laotian/Northern Thai cuisine doesn’t get enough exposure and credit for the awesome dishes they serve. After my initial exposure to the hard egg noodles cooked briskly on spicy curry-based sauce with a mixture of veggies and chicken that is Khao Soi, I frantically asked all my Thai/Laotian friends if they knew of any restaurants that served Khao Soi both in Jersey and back at home(on the off chance I get to go back home sometime soon) and most of them scratched their head and told me that finding a restaurant that does Khao Soi and does it right is almost as hard as finding a restaurant that does Thai Crunchy Chicken Fried Rice correctly. Disappointed but not discouraged, I kept Khao Soi on the back of my mind everytime a potential dine-in experience at a Thai restaurant came across, so you can only imagine my excitement when I walked into Kunya Siam after a pleasant evening at Carton down the street and lo and behold saw Khao Soi listed under«chef’s specialty.» Being the chef’s specialty, the Khao Soi did not disappoint. My friend and I thought perhaps ordering two so that we could have one for the each of us might have been overkill,(as most Thai restaurants do tend to serve things out family style) but the portions were perfect. The Khao Soi was great, as expected — I expected more of a panang curry-like kick to it, but the milder yellow curry worked well with the egg noodles as well. We also grabbed an appetizer order of fried wontons due to an ongoing inside joke between my friend and I(see #tybg if curious) and whereas they weren’t overwhelmingly Thai, they were delectable as well. Best part of the evening was when we realized Kunya Siam is BYOB — I can’t even begin to describe how well Carton’s Monkey Chased the Weasel went with the Khao Soi broth. Will definitely be back for more Khao Soi goodness.
