I found this hole in the wall place on here, and it’s really a spot local go to. Pretty amazing to see the famous people on the wall… Amazing subs, and have to get it with the hot peppers! Funny story, my boyfriend and I got lunch here, to go, on our way to the cape may ferry. While on the ferry we were minding our business eating our lunch. No joke, 4 people came up to us and said«white house subs?». That’s how you know this place is THAT good! Decently priced & good quality subs

Always a classic. Never a disappointment. Even the vegetarian sub…:) The wait is rather long, but totally worth it.

Checked this Atlantic City historic shop this weekend. Excellent spot for a sandwich. Old school place. Pictures cover the walls here of all the celebrities that have visited this spot. Even Frank Sinatra’s towel used at his last performance in Atlantic City is in a case on the wall here. Sandwiches are all fresh made to order. Bread is excellent with the bakery they get it from around the corner. A definite stop if your in the mood for a quick bite.

Sorry fellow Unilocalers, but i dont understand the hype. Even though i added salt(which i RARELY do) it didnt really help. The meatball sub was highly recommended but i can do without. I saw the raving reviews, and yes, there was alot of meat. but thats it. I went at a good time when it wasnt packed, but it is very unlikely that i would feel comfortable coming back here. You have to be a regular for the staff to make you feel welcomed. But hey. the bread was good

Just had an Italian sub from white house for the first time in years… I used to go to AC all the time, but it’ been getting seedier and seedier so my trips have drastically decreased. One constant in town is the White House Sub Shop. It was good, as always, but when did they switch from green to red hot peppers??? Still good, not as good. At least the bread’s the same…

Checked it out based on the reviews. It’s probably one of the best subs I’ve had and the best value for the price. They basically take an Italian loaf bread and make a sandwich out of the whole thing. I got the half(which is still half an Italian role that you buy at the supermarket) and stuffed it with meat and lots of extras. It’s very close to Caesars and 15 minutes from Tropicana. I ordered take out but i did notice that there was no alcohol in the menu. My only regret is that I can’t try all the different flavors. I’ll definitely go back and buy the«whole» sandwiches to take back to New York.

Whitehouse subs is a tradition in Atlantic city. They have great hot and cold subs. Cheesesteaks are the specialty. But the meatball or cheeseburger subs rock too. Then there’s cold subs. The original Italian or the turkey or tuna subs are good also. Cold for lunch, hot subs for dinner I dunno. lol I’ve been going there since I was a kid. Make sure you try the cherry peppers, they are always fresh and perfect on anything you order… Im a purist, steak provolone and PEPPERS! End of story. Lettuce and tomatoes are for bunnies.

Very greasy, but tasty :) I have heard about this place from my friend. I was in AC for couple of hours so I decided to check this place out. I had a chicken cheesesteak with onion and peppers, OMG it was killing(I mean it was giving me crazy acidity) all day after I ate that sandwich. Onions were oily, too much peppers just burned my stomach lol. I enjoyed it, even though it’s was sloppy . Good experience, nice workers, fast service, beautiful atmosphere.

Tried White House after reading Unilocal reviews and upon recommendation of a fellow Unilocaler. White House has been in business for over 70 years. It is a small sub shop located in AC with very limited seating. White House is within walking distance of the Tanger Outlets. Most customers appear to order takeout, but a waiter is on staff to offer full dining service to patrons. The walls are lined with old photos of various celebs. A small sub is easily enough for two people to share. They offer a wide variety of cold and hot, but the Philly is their specialty. The Mr. tried their Philly cheesesteak and I had the hot veggie(not on the menu, but available upon request) with cheese. We opted for lettuce and tomato which was actually a surprisingly pleasant addition after noticing a local had added this to her order. Service was quick and subs were made on the spot. They taste great and are a much better alternative to what guests typically find in the way of hotel dining options. When in AC, it is certainty worth giving a try for lunch or takeout.

One of the best Philly cheese steak place in Atlantic City. Service was good and price of sandwich was very reasonable. Suggest to order Philly cheese sandwich for the first timer.

Was in Atlantic city at Angelo’s Fairmont Tavern for a get together with some fraternity brothers. Three of us had decided that we were going to White House Subs after we left Angelos. We decided to eat in rather than rake them on the road. I ordered the presumptive favorite steak sandwich with peppers and onions. I only ordered a half sun which was plenty since I had eaten and drank all afternoon. Steak sandwiches start with the roll which in my opinion can make or break the sandwich. This was an excellent roll. The steak sandwich was excellent. My only complaint was that you get packets of ketchup instead of s bottle but I understand the reasoning. I just don’t have to like it. I believe the quality of steak was a step up from chopped minute steak but I will pay more attention the next time I go.

Every time I visit Atlantic city, there is no way a miss a visit to White House subs. It’s usually a decent wait but like most places that have waits, it’s worth it in the end. This past time, we waited for a table and were seated after 20 minutes so not too shabby. So if you haven’t been here before, just know this. These sandwiches are from the Gods themselves and are massive. If you get a full sub, it’s basically two sandwiches. They cut them into four halves. I went with three people and we got a two full subs. One Philly cheesesteak with grilled onions and a cheese mix. We also ordered the Italian sub with hot peppers. It’s honestly really tough for me to choose between the two. These cheesesteaks trump most places in Philadelphia and these Italians are the best I’ve ever had. You’ll just have to go and taste for yourself. It’s cash only so be prepared for that. What makes any great sandwich is the bread. This bread is amazing. It’s probably why it’s one of my most favorite sandwiches places to ever visit. Can’t wait to go back for some more.

Nothing I have ever had tastes better, but maybe the White House Special would be. Bring cash, get there early to beat the lines, and come hungry. Nothing else needs to be said that hasn’t already by others. And for those bitching about the service or attitude of people that work there, you can just move on. This place is a staple, the food is on point. If you don’t like the rough around the edges of the people you can move on. Wow some lady got a little upset cause you were going to sit in around closing time, guess you never worked in a restaurant before. ok done venting on people that have helicopter parents and have gotten trophies their entire lives for just showing up.

Stopped in on the way to The Tropicana and ordered to go. The place is a small as all the reviews tell you. It’s cramped and chaotic– but you know it must be good when people are willing to wait on lines like that. We ordered an Italian and the cheesesteak. Disappointed to find out they were out of eggs so no pepper and egg for my mom :-( The Italian was superb. Loaded with lots of meat and the bread was the star of the show– both crusty and soft at the same time. The cheesesteak was comparable to the best you can get in Philly. Great steak and just the right amount of cheese. The sandwiches are GIANT– don’t order a whole for yourself. You can easily feed 2 – 3 people on 1 whole sub. I suggest calling ahead I order and saving yourself the chaos of waiting on line and ordering.

I recently came to this establishment after rearing about its amazing reviews online. My friends and I waited on line for twenty minutes and were then seated in the front window where everyone could look in while waiting on line. The décor is very old and nothing is updated. Our waitress was extremely rude and barely made eye contact with us. I ordered the Italian, which people raved about and I found nothing phenomenal about it. We were only halfway done with our meal when we received the check. I feel that White House Subs has been riding on its reputation for years.. .. I will not be returning to this establishment.

This is probably Atlantic City’s most famous sub shop. They are a tiny dive/diner type spot, where you can either dine inside at the counter, sit at one of their 10 booths or order take out sandwiches. Sometimes the wait is insane because this place is extremely popular! The staff are friendly, quick and the food is prepared rather fast. Don’t come here if you’re a vegetarian or a healthy eater… The menu is basically all meat and it’s not low-fat… But it is pretty tasty! The location is just a block from the outlets so it’s the perfect spot to stop for lunch or dinner during a shopping trip. This afternoon my mom and I enjoyed an Italian hoagie and a cheese steak. Both were pretty tasty and served on fresh bread. The food hit the spot! We enjoyed looking at the pics on the wall of all the celebrities that have dined here(Whitney Houston, Bernie Mac Jimmy Fallon, Sammy Davis Jr… And many more). Thanks White House for another great meal and great hospitality.

There’s a reason this place is an AC icon. They’re cash only in a small deli style shop with friendly service and the line is out the door for takeout. I was lucky and somehow got a booth on a Sunday afternoon but the place was packed. The cheesesteak was about the best I’ve ever had and was a little different than a usual Philly one. The bread is a little chewier here and it comes with tender beef, provolone, grilled onion, lettuce, tomato, and some spicy relish. Don’t tell Philly but theirs is awesome and has more flavor than most. Be warned portions are HUGE here, a half WILL feed one person and maybe two depending how hungry you are, don’t get the full unless you’re feeding an army or want lots of leftovers. This place is a must try in AC, there’s a location on the boardwalk in the Taj Mahal but this one gives you the real experience.

Found this place through friend recommendations and also through Unilocal and they did not disappoint! It’s a smaller place so it was pretty packed when we came. We were told that it would take at least 15 minutes for our food to come out before we arrived, which was understandable given the amount of customers there. My boyfriend got the half of the Italian sausage parm submarine and I got the half of the cheese steak sub — which was already cut in half again, so we both got to try each other’s subs. They were hot and delicious! The fillings were definitely added generously. Loved that the walls were filled with pictures of celebrities that have eaten there in the past! It was fun to see how many people you could recognize over the years.

I’ll actually give this place a 5-star since it honors its own tradition pretty well. I got the full White House Special sandwich, split it up into 3 meals. Everything was fresh and the meat was pretty good quality. Plenty of pictures of celebs and stuff on the wall, so I guess there’s some hype around here. Very limited seating indoors, but you can always order from the take-out line and go elsewhere.

This might seem blasphemous to some but this place isnt anything to rave about. Its definitely over rated. I get the history but the food isnt all that great. The white house is small and cramped and organs booths from 60 years ago so thats kitchy. They only accept cash so come prepared. There are only 6 booths most of the ppl come for carry out. There are pictures of famous ppl from the 90s all over the walls. We were sat really quickly but the rest of tbe service dragged. It took forever to get a waitress take out order. Everyone at the tables got some variation of a cheesesteak because well duh why else come. You can see from the picture that the sub was very large and that is just a half sub so if you want a full sub your gonna need to need some help. The sub itself was bland. The bread wasny toasted and it was just a loy a bread compared to the amount of meat. The cheesesteak was bland the peppers were barely grilled and there was more ice berg lettuce than anything else on the plate. We all got chips as a side because they dont offer fries buuuttt you can get a tasty cake lol. How random Come to b a tourist but dont come thinking you’re gonna get the best cheesesteak ever
