Awesome place to grab a drink or some good bar food. Atmosphere is great to hang out and enjoy some great whiskey or grab a cheap sandwich and a Cold beer. Cool little gift shop if you’re into that stuff. Basically a stop every trip to AC… open 24⁄7 too!

This place is in the original monopoly game & its run extremely professional with an interesting story with history. Apparently they want repeat customers because I have been coming back for 5 years now. The rooms are clean with no frills. The food downstairs is the best bargain in Atlantic City Hands down. The location is a half a block from the boardwalk, beach & casinos.

We just got back from a weekend in Atlantic City and we loved staying here. It was totally worth it. I was worried about it being so inexpensive but the staff was very friendly, room stayed cool and surprisingly quiet with the window open and fan on, single shower and bathroom that we never had to wait for, and it is basically on the boardwalk. Only downside is no parking for hotel guests. The $ 7 charge at the garage wasn’t a big deal but it was a pain when it came time to check out. You either have to go get the car or walk with all your stuff. We initially planned on hanging on the boardwalk a bit so we didn’t want to get the car yet so we had to walk with all our stuff, not ideal. But it is a minor complaint. Yes the place is old so expect it to be basic but completely worth not paying a fortune to stay in the city.

The Inn of the Irish Pub is probably best approached as a little adventure. If you need any sort of luxury, this is not the place for you. Nay, this inn is for the traveler who enjoys the quaint, the kitschy and the shabby chic – although the place is more on the shabby side of that spectrum. The inn is a European style hotel where you can get rooms with shared bathrooms on the hall, but there are rooms with private baths as well. We paid $ 100 for one night with a private bathroom, which I guess in Atlantic City is pretty cheap. The area it’s in is pure Atlantic City polarization: the hotel next door looks like the kind of place where middle-aged men check in to drink themselves to death, and the neighborhood looks inner-city sketchy, but it’s a block off the boardwalk and a short walk to several casinos. The lobby appears to not have been updated EVER, except the flat screen TV in the common room, and looks like an antique store exploded in it. Again, keep an open mind and enjoy the little quirks — the manually-operated elevator that the front desk person will use to take you to your room, the creepy paintings above your bed. Our room was tiny, with barely any room to get around the two twin beds, and the bathroom was pretty basic with a stand-up shower stall. The saving grace was that the things I needed to be clean were clean: the sheets were pristine, and the bathroom and towels were spotless. Also, the front desk person was courteous and friendly. Keep in mind the place doesn’t have air conditioning(or tvs in the rooms), but it is a block off the ocean, so even though we had an interior room facing another building, it was super breezy. Some other plusses: the pub downstairs stays open all night, so feel free to booze to your heart’s content and then stumble up to your room and pass out. Also, the fish and chips guy on the boardwalk directly to the left of the inn has hand cut fries and stays open as long as there are people on the boardwalk, which for us meant a 4:00 a.m. snack! Overall, had an enjoyable stay.

Very neat little place. We are constantly going to the pub to eat and drink, so we decided why not give the inn a try. The rates are very cheap and the location above our favorite place in AC was perfect. The rooms are decent size and we found them clean. They are very old however, but we prepared for that, so we weren’t surprised. It has a lot of charm. Perhaps the best thing about the inn is the large porch in front. Me and my buddy sat outside on a beautiful night and cracked a few beers before we hit the casino. Very relaxing. And of course, having direct access to the best bar in AC was a plus! Pros: Great staff, location, price, porch, pub attached, clean, charm. We will be back!

Diffidently an AC dive bar, but the drinks are cheap and its a short walk off the Boardwalk. Skip the main bar and head outside to the garden bar. All of the staff were very friendly. Surprisingly the beer selection was decent. Mixed drinks were made well with a generous pour. We didn’t try any of the food, but for a nice Boardwalk day booze you can’t go wrong here. Cheers!

I’ve stayed at Borgata, Plaza, and Bally’s on prior trips to Atlantic City and, sure, those rooms had more amenities than the rooms at Irish Pub & Inn. But, at the end of the day, I ended up just sleeping there. I didn’t spend time in my room at Borgata admiring the nice bathroom or investigating how many channels were available on the TV. It was a place to lay my weary head after a long day and night of free drinks, dice, and cards. Here’s the deal, Irish Pub rooms are bare bones. You’ll get no TV and you’ll get no air conditioning. In my case, both of these facts were disclosed fully and clearly on the phone. Given the timing of my trip and the fact that I am asleep for the entirety of time that I spend in my hotel room, I don’t particularly care about these things. The key for me is that the total cost of staying at Irish Pub for two nights over a weekend was easily ½ the cost of the average casino room and maybe 1⁄3rd or ¼th the cost of a room at the higher end places. As to the question of cleanliness, I had no complaints. I felt like my bedding and bathroom were both clean and I saw no trash or other detritus on the floor at all. Yes, my floor was sloped about 30 degrees which was interesting, but that wasn’t a major issue. The hotel common area is like slipping through a wrinkle in time. The lobby is so old and kitschy that it’s amazing. They advertise that Joe DiMaggio used to stay there and, if that’s true, I’m guessing that he saw about the same décor that I did when I walked in. All-in-all, Irish Pub will be my hotel of choice for my future trips to AC. It might get a little warm during the heat of the summer, but in the spring and fall I won’t ever stay at another place. The rooms are exactly what you need — a bed and a bathroom, the pub downstairs serves cheap and reasonably tasty bar food, and when you walk out at 9AM you’ll see at least 4 or 5 guys at the bar drinking already. In other words, this is totally my kind of place.

This place is a DUMP! I spent four nights staying at the Inn and had two meals in the pub. I only chose this place to stay because it was so cheap… well you get what you pay for. The staff is friendly for the most part but the rooms are FILTHY! disgusting, filthy! When we checked in, the floors were obviously not vacuumed, there were hairballs all over the place, including on the bedding, and there were other miscellaneous pieces of garbage on the floor and under the beds. I asked the man to have the room vaccuumed and have the bedding changed. All that was done was the sheets changed. No one vacuumed and the cover on the beds weren’t changed. I ended up swiping the vacuum from the cleaning guy when he left it unattended in the hallway so I could vacuum the room myself! On top of this, the inn has no AC, no fridge, no microwave, no wifi, no parking. You get a box fan. I stayed on the third floor w/one other person in a room that was meant for four people and it was soo small even just for the two of us! The third floor shower has NOOO water pressure, we had to go downstairs to shower. And the rooms and everywhere else is always damp. Nothing would dry in our room, even w/hanging it in the window. The inn is meant only for people who need a cheap room in a jam. Now to the pub… the dinner menu has hardly any selection, although the prices are cheap. The food is not that good, again you get what you pay for. And you have to pay w/cash, no separate checks. The second time I ate dinner there I got the chicken parm special and about an hour later I got sick. The silverware was dirty and when we went to the bar for drinks, my friend’s glass had lipstick and a chunk of lip on it. She asked for a new one and the bartender made a new drink w/about ¼ of the alcohol he should have used, and on top of that, the second glass was dirty too! All in all, stay away from this place! Just spend the money on a nice casino hotel because the city and the beach are so dirty that your room will be your only refuge. On that note, go to the beaches at Brigantine.
