Made reservation for 9:30. Showed up at 9:30 and were told the restaurant was closed. So apparently it doesn’t matter if you have a reservation because they don’t care. Thanks.

So disapointed tasted like cafeteria buffet food. We had breakfast, the bread was terrible the eggs overcooked service ok at best wont be going back. We stay at Harrahs regularly and will take the cab to the strip to eat instead.

If you are afraid of visiting AC because of the financial issues of the city, let me put your fears at rest — if you stay at Harrah’s, you wouldn’t even know that Atlantic City is having issues. We ate at Sammy D’s — service and food is terrific! I’m pretty particular about my bacon… I like it crispy and not greasy. They got the nail on the head. My husband orders the XXXLBLTA(A for avocado). He describes the food quality as «excellent.» I also got blueberry pancakes — another food that I am particular about. Light and fluffy and cooked just right. Could use more blueberries in the periphery of the pancake but otherwise very delicious. Shout out to Diomedes and Lisa for their service and engagement level.

First time since 2012 And things have changed as I would expect. Love the furniture and the service that I see now. Attentive staff. Today I am having the grand slam. Little bit of everything. The oj was actually very good. The food was cooked perfectly. I was impressed. I was feeling some kind of way when straws were not offered with my oj. As I look around I see some tables with straws and many without. So I am guessing they are only given when requested. Straws should be a no brainer since many mouths are on the coffee cups and water glasses. But over all. I would return here for sure.

Yeah, two stars sounds about right. I’m not sure I’ve ever experienced service this bad. Yes, I’m aware we had a large party(I believe we were 12 or 13). But that doesn’t mean you neglect us completely. It should not take 20 minutes for you to bring us our drinks. And then another 20 minutes before you come back to take our order. Elusive waiter status: Premium. Now onto the review. Came here on a Saturday night with my MDW Atlantic City group. I’m not sure who chose this place for dinner, but they have some serious redeeming to do. I mean, fine. The food was A-OK. But it was essentially a glorified Applebee’s. Or maybe a bit more like TGI Friday’s. I think that’s enough for you to catch my drift. Everyone enjoyed their meals, but we were all putting in context. Would this be considered good by New York’s standards? Not even close. I suppose it depends on who you are, but I’m saying not even close. So the context was this: we’re in Harrah’s which, as I’ve heard from more experienced gamblers, is not one of the nicer casinos in Atlantic City. The«nicer» restaurants at Harrah’s are all in a grouping, most being on the second floor. So perhaps Sammy D’s being *past* the dreadful food court was a sign. Once you pass that food court, I think it’s pretty easy to assume that you’re at the end of the line given the eateries have diminished in quality the farther you walk. Unfortunately, this is just me reflecting on my experience several days after said experience – hindsight 20⁄20. So I went along for the ride here. Our group of 12 or 13 got a nice big tables towards the back of this eerily empty, cavernous space. Second sign that maybe this wasn’t a «hot spot» at Harrah’s. The third sign was the beer received by one of our party members. He said it tasted odd, which I confirmed. He knew this beer well and had a feeling there might be some skunk action going on. He promptly sent the beer back, exchanging it for a different kind. Of course, it took a good 15 minutes for the swap to be completed. Note: the waiter seemed not at all surprised at this occurrence. Cue Molly’s fear of food poisoning. Looking around, we noticed that everyone’s portions were YUUUGE. So that made it a bit more difficult to navigate the menu. I got: the BLTA(bacon, lettuce, tomato, chipotle mayo, avocado, «two-fisted» country loaf) because my fear of food poisoning(long story – it’s near pathological) had been primed and the chicken dishes I had been eying started to look like potential sources of danger. I know, I need therapy. In any case, I trusted the BLTA more despite my typical healthy diet. It turned out that I made the wrong choice… by some people’s standards. As you can see from the picture, my sandwich was comically big. And the most supersized part was the amount of freaking bacon on this monster. Skimped on the avo and other healthy ingredient, loaded up on the bacon. The fact that the sandwich came open-faced gives you an idea of how massive the entire thing was. I have no idea how one would eat«normally». I used a for and knife and no one blamed me. I will say this: the sandwich DID taste GOOD. I actually ate a lot of it having only eaten one meal that day. But I have been fearing for the health of my heart and arteries since. Just look at the picture and see if it’s for you. If you can handle it, totally order it. It was tasty and I cannot deny the signals send to my brain’s pleasure centers. But once rational thought/executive functioning kicks in, well, you may regret it. Drink-wise, I’d say Sammy’s is adequate at the very very best. I ordered a Blueberry Cosmo, which was sub-par but drinkable. As you’d probably expect at this point in the review, the glass was significantly larger than normal. Thankfully it’s one of the less-boozy cocktails on the menu. I’d prefer not to compromise two vital organs at one meal, thank you very much. The guys all ordered 22oz. beers, because of course you’re allowed to order that size at a casino. The casino wants you drunk and they are not subtle about it. Last note: One member of our party ordered a salad with chicken. He did not receive chicken on his salad. He was not surprised in the slightest. He did not flag down the waiter to make the change. Too much work.

We stayed at Harrah’s last night and decided to have breakfast at Sammy D’s this AM. It was a Tuesday morning so it wasn’t very crowded at all. The dining room is wide open with ample seating for hundreds I would think. A flowing ceiling(it is pretty unique; you have to see it) added to rooms flow. I liked it. The waiters were quite attentive after our initial wait for coffee. The wait wasn’t forever but it seemed like it; I wanted my «joe». The food came out fairly quickly and was hot. I had a ham and cheese omelet that was tasty. The home fries were deep fried, decent but not traditional home fries. If you weren’t in a casino the prices would seem exorbitant, but if you had a good night gambling and didn’t want to leave for breakfast, than the prices probably won’t bother you.

Short lunch break from the continuing education seminars, and no time to leave Harrah’s to find more choices. Sammy D’s was close at hand, so without checking Unilocal reviews, we decided to grab a booth and chow down. The place is spacious, with dark wood tones and servers in black. Visually attractive. We ordered a Turkey Club on Rye, and the Soup/Sandwich Combo consisting of Boston Clam Chowder and Lobster Roll. Service was prompt and friendly. No push to order alcohol, nor side dishes. We received very good lunches. The Turkey Club was overflowing with nicely sliced gobbler, bacon, swiss, lettuce and mayo. It was fresh and tasty. My chowder was creamy and chock full of clams, potatoes and nice taste. The Lobster Roll was in a potato bun. It was small, but had a decent flavor and ample quantity for a lighter lunch. Prices were what we expected for a casino hotel restaurant, and the quality considerably better.

One of the only restaurants open in the entire Harrah’s casino & resort on Monday at noon morning except the food court. How weird?! I wanted to have sushi, but it’s close on Mondays and Tuesdays. The buffet is only open on Saturdays and Sundays. Even part of the food court closes at odd times like 2pm. What’s wrong with them?! Our waitress was ultra sweet and she was the best. We ordered buffalo wings, house burger, classic omlete with house fries, avocado egg white wrap, and onion rings. We wanted a drink but the bar was closed:(Everything was closed:( The wings was good, they were very small, but fluffy. Hot and crispy. Burger was big, it was a bacon cheese burger, and onion rings, pretty standard. My omelet was huge with ham and cheese. I don’t think there was enough cheese. The house fries(potato chunks with onions) was just ok. Didn’t have room to touch my toasts. The avocado egg white wrap is a healthy option for anyone looking for something with good macros. The service was good. Big portions, food was ok, price was kind of expensive, expect casino price. Overall, meh. I have experience much better.

We came here for breakfast after a night of drinking! I came here with 4 gfs. None of us were disappointing with what we ordered but it also did not blow us away. I ordered the Bloody Mary which was actually pretty good and came with fun extras on top. I had eggs Benedict and the rest of the gang had pancakes. Food was 3⁄5 solid. The service was a little blah… the guy had to re=ask us a few times what we wanted(maybe he was new) and did not come by enough to get us refills. We also waited a really long time for the food to come out while other tables that came after us got theirs. Again — I will assume that the server was new and still training so I will not hold that against him. If you are looking for breakfast after a night out in AC this is a good place to go. The food hit the spot just do not expect amazing service.

I had brunch here on Monday while staying at Harrah’s. My fiancé and I both enjoyed our meals and our waitress was great. We ordered the coffee cake and our waitress asked us if it was out first time there, and we said yes it was, and she said she gives first time customers a piece of the coffee cake on the house which I thought was cool. Not sure if it was a common practice but it was a nice touch. I got the NYC breakfast sandwich which was tasty and my fiancé got the 2 egg breakfast. No complaints there. The only thing that made me take one star away is the hostess. We were waiting in line and she asked us if we are platinum card holders and when I said no, so she went to the other line and said«I have to sit my platinum’s first». We were in the«non platinum» line so why ask us that? Then she sat someone who walked up from behind us(in the«regular» line) because they said they were in a rush! I don’t like how Harrah’s has the whole divide of platinum vs. the gold or normal people. Anyway I guess it gets people to spend more there so that’s not going away.

I walked in with a group of 30 to an empty restaurant, half of the group never ordered anything and the other half ordered twice. The service was horrible, no one came by & brought drinks or double checked on everyone. Worst goddamn place ever, go eat at McDonald’s you will get better service… If I could give negative five stars I could

Walked into Sammy’s for brunch on a Sunday with a group of 16. Our waiter Ben was EXCELLENT! He went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable and had everything they wanted. He was personable and patiently answered our questions, made recommendations, and accepted substitutions with a warm smile. The menu is typical brunch food with eggs, pancakes, a couple of salads and sandwiches. For the most part everyone was happy with their food. I wouldn’t say we were blown away but we were satisfied with the quality and value. I had the XXXLBLT, one of their most popular items and here is why. The star here is definitely the bacon with about 20+ gorgeous strips sitting into place of bread, mayo, lettuce, tomato. I add two fried eggs which really brought the entire dish together. Not sure I need to say anymore… I think 20 slices of bacon is pretty self explanatory. It’s huge and filling so it’s a good item for sharing(if you are one of those people that share their bacon). They offered the entire to ale free coffee cake which was nice but it was extremely dry so I wasn’t a fan.

If you are staying at Harrah’s and want a filling breakfast, Sammy D’s is the place to go. I ordered the pancakes with bacon and my husband ordered pancakes, two eggs, potatoes, turkey bacon and toast. Our waitress quickly brought over a pot of coffee and pitcher of orange juice when we sat down. This is a great tactic because if you want either she can pour your coffee or orange juice immediately. She leaves the pot of coffee on the table so that you can pour your refills. The portions are large. We came with appetites and were not able to finish most of our food. The pancakes have a great flavor and each order comes with three pancakes. The best thing I tried were the eggs my husband ordered. He asked for scrambled eggs with American cheese. The eggs were amazing! So creamy and full of melted cheese. I loved that the cheese was mixed in and they didn’t simply place a few slices of cheese on top of the scrambled eggs. The potatoes were crispy and slightly seasoned; not overly salty. We were too full to try the toast. I want to come back and this time I’ll order the scrambled eggs with cheese.

The wait was okay but overall the service was nice. The staff was friendly and informative of the menu. The price was a little high but the restaurant is located in Atlantic city away from True close walking distance competition. The food arrived roughly 10 – 15 min after placing our order. I would go again because you receive good value for your money.

After spa treatment, my friends and I just decided to grab something simple and fast. Sammy D is right next to Red door spa. There was no line at 1:30pm. The server was very friendly and the complimentary chunky coffee cake was good. Food was great, service was nice, food came fast & hot. Price is good too. We got drinks, coffee, orange juice and 6 entrée. Plus 18% tips, we only paid $ 24each person. The portion is large. In New York City, you will need to pay about 30~40 for this. So everyone was happy ^_^

Went here for breakfast in AC. I’m not really sure why there is such a big line in the morning… Maybe its because there is not many places to eat breakfast in Harrah’s or, the buffet was closed. I give service 5 stars. The waiter was awesome but maybe it was because we came really early in the morning. **Your basic eggs, bacon and home-fries. THINKDINERFOOD. NOTHINGSPECIAL. THEYDONOTCAREIFTHEPLATELOOKSPRETTY. For about 21 dollars you can get two eggs, bacon, sausage, and 2 pancakes. The pancakes were very good, as was the blueberry muffin warmed up. For around 50 dollars… For Appx. 21 dollar grand slam, two cups of tea, two orange juice and a blueberry muffin before tip, It was okay. I don’t think its worth it.

I want to give this place 4 stars, but our waiter was a little snobby and didn’t check on us until we finished our food, so that definitely knocked off a few stars. In addition, there were barely ppl there so it’s not like he had a few tables to check on… Being that it was our first time here, we weren’t aware that they charge you for a refill of just regular orange juice. We assumed it was just on the house. Had we known it would’ve been a problem, we would’ve just not asked or stuck to water, or even purchased a beer or something. Our waiter made it seem like we annoyed his life when we asked for another cup of OJ — super weird… then proceeded to tell us «I’m only doing this once. Had it been another water, they would’ve charged you» Oh…I’m sorry, was that your poor way of weasling your way into a tip? Anyway! I had the XXLBLTA! It was super good! Who would’ve thought avocados and bacon would mesh so well! The bread was a little harder than I’d like for it to be, but overall it was a great sandwich. That’s all i got.

The servers and hosts here are friendly. The food is average Jersey diner quality. However, EVERYTHING is an up charge, and for the average quality of the food, I’d consider this place grossly overpriced. 2OJ’s? $ 9. Cheddar cheese on your omelet? $ 2. The food took quite a long time to arrive as well. While I appreciate the option of gluten free toast, the stuff they use here is old-school rice bread which had zero flavor. There have been much better, widely available gf bread options for about 8 years now. A very average breakfast for two here was $ 57 incl tip. That’s more than double the price it should have been. I will not be back.

BESTHUMUSINTHEWORLD! I like the food at Sammys. I’ve eaten here several times and never been disappointed by the food. You can watch the game in the bar area or relax in the café area. I like to people watch while eating in the bar area. It’s in front of The Pool so you get to see lots of sexy ppl walking by while you eat. Two things I would voice is; #1 the price is high. $ 20 for the Dennys equivalent of a Grand Slam which is $ 9. #2 the servers don’t know the menu. They are nice but they aren’t aware of what they serve. They need some menu awareness. Simple questions like are you serving the Humus platter now was unknown and the waiteress had to check. If you want to save a Buck if you can go next door to the Taste of the Shore, no service ordering.
