Shark Shack

Really like the Shark Shack. Food is very fresh and tasty. Will definitely be back for a quick meal. Fresh fish sandwiches taste great here.

Stop and eat if you can catch them open. Great food & great prices. Ate here last year while on vacation.
Would have tried to this year however it was locked up every time we went by. No hours posted on the building and no one answers the phone. Was looking forward to taking our friends their to try it out.

Visited here for a late lunch about 4:30 on a Thursday. Our order was taken at a window and within about a minute I’d say the food was up and ready at the next window. We both ordered the seafood tacos which I highly recommend. This isn’t your sit down get waited on table. Its just really damn good food and fresh grouper fried to deliciousness. Seating is really limited like 4 picnic tables and 6 bar stools limited. But it’s a off the beach grab some grub type of place and I’m okay with that. I didn’t go expecting excellence. Don’t do that and you’ll enjoy the place for what it is: a shaka brah type of joint with banging fried seafood. Some of the staff may already believe its five oclock somewhere.

Shark Shack has outdoor seating and carry out. The food options are limited, but good. They have good hamburgers, shrimp burgers, etc. and shrimp, oyster, and sometimes fried clam strip baskets with fries, and several side options. I tried to phone in my order for pickup but got an answering machine. So, I drove there and placed my order at the window. It only took about 5 minutes for my order to be ready. They just recently started taking credit cards via Square. Shark Shack is a good place for lunch or a snack. The service is good and staff is friendly.

Special of the day was a grouper reuben. It was amazing! The fish was twice the size of the bun! They really put the whole fillet of fish on the sandwich. The people I was with got the burger and said it was very good as well. Best restaurant for lunch on AB! Wish I had discovered it sooner.

Great burgers! Small outside joint. Wait wasn’t too long and the food was great! Can’t wait to return

The Caesar salad was delicious and nice and green! But the croutons where way to oily and and partially fell apart in to a oily glob in your mouth and where disgusting.
The grilled cheese was pretty good! The cheese was creamy and the bread was crispy. I also had hush puppies, which I love, and I enjoyed them too. Very greasy though, which made wasn’t so great. It seemed like most of there food was ridiculously greasy.

If you like fresh seafood and tacos, this is the place! They give huge portions too! Very affordable and delicious! If you are at Atlantic Beach, you must stop by. They do not have much seating, just picnic tables outside. Good place to stop and have a beer and some good food.

Absolutely love this place! Good food, music, location, and ambience. The staff is always friendly and it has a great area for kids to play while you wait for your food. Every time I go home to the crystal coast i stop here!

Was very pleasantly surprised when I stopped here for lunch recently. The fried shrimp. Wow they were good. Was really pleased with how fresh everything was, from the shrimp to the tomatoes on my salad. It was awesome!!! My girlfriends got a Cajun chicken burger and Caesar wrap. They were both very happy with their choices. Can’t wait to go back:)

This place has some really good fun beach day food, it’s greasy but cooked perfectly.
HOWEVER, it’s only open when the moon aligns with Saturn and when Halle’s comet streaks across the sky. You basically have a better chance of being mauled to death by a wild hog than showing up to the Shark Shack when it’s open.
Oh, but those days. The days when everything is as it should be. You will be treated to the most delectable buffalo shrimp that ever graced God’s green Earth.
So, if you have time to set up camp for two weeks like you’re waiting for Black Friday at Best Buy, then by all means, head to the Shark Shack! If you don’t find anyone working, don’t worry, they’re probably out surfing the waves, or doing whatever it is beach bums do when they’re not cooking delicious, SCRUMPTIOUS, morsels of fried clam.
If you’re looking for something that’s open more days in a year than the total number of La Chupacabra sightings, there are a ton of other seafood places with more than 4 people on staff.
If you’re a sucker for abuse, then by all means head to the Shark Shack. Though you’re more likely to have octuplets and get a reality TV show than be served any actual food.

It’s been a year since our last visit. Food is still very good, grouper bites remain a go-​to. Clam strips were also very good. Biggest change that we noticed is that they no longer sell draft beer which was a real disappointment. It seems like hours remain spotty so call first. Oh yeah. None of the phone numbers online work, including the one on Unilocal.The phone number as of 7÷22÷14 is (910) 639‑0815.

What a cute little seafood shack! The seafood is great and super fresh. (I recommend the blackened mahi mahi sandwich.) There is no inside seating so come on a nice day. This really is a shack! The price is right considering it’s seafood. (8 – 14 $) I will definitely be coming here again!

We came via word of mouth on the beach. Shrimp basket and grouper bites to go. The service was relatively quick and the staff was polite and efficient, but not overly talkative.
I was halfway through my beer when our order was ready. Took the food back and my girls devoured it. Like, dad can you go get more this is so good devoured it.
So I am waiting for our second shrimp basket and for some fish and chips to keep my 6 and 4 year olds happy. They haven’t eaten like this all vacation.
This is very reasonably priced compared to some of the other restaurants in the immediate area. And the wait time wasn’t terrible like I said before.
And even though there were five other orders in front of us, my second order is ready before I can even finish this review.
We will be back. Maybe even tonight.

It was okay. For $ 28 we got a sloppy shrimp burger & fish and chips, 2 drinks, and side of cole slaw. It wasn’t BAD per say, but it was not worth $ 28.
I will say I was pleased that the shrimp was deveined. The bun was a poppy seed sesame bun which I felt took away some of the flavor of shrimp. The hush puppies were like heavy pellets but tasted fine.
I was thankful they had a nice clean bathroom… but didn’t like that you can’t lock the door going into employees area only… kinda felt like an employee could just bust in on you.
Not bad but I’m sure there’s a better choice nearby…

The Shark Shack is one of our favorite places at the beach. The food is as good as the sit down restaurants in our area (fried seafood restaurants) the portions are generous, and the price is about ½ of the sit down restaurants we semi-​frequent. We would highly recommend it but…
You would be lucky to find it open and you can NEVER count on them being open as there are nothing like any regular business hours being followed. The service is fine but not friendly. And God forbid you ever show up with a large order and didn’t bring a wallet full of cash, because they don’t accept anything but cash. They are either too cheap to pay the fee, or cheating on their income tax.
Anyway, if your wallet is full and you drive by and see them open, stop because it is worth it. Otherwise, go ahead and make other plans.
