There were 5 in our party, we all ordered something different & everything was absolutely scrumptious! Loved it! The crab used in the eggs on the bayou & the crab/shrimp omelet was nice lump crab meat & there was a lot of it. Definitely recommend!

On mother’s day so it was packed. Sat at the counter. I got the eggs on the bayou with home fries. Phenomenal. To make it even better they brought me their datil pepper sauce which was perfect with the fries. Food came super fast and service was excellent.

Food was pretty good, although nothing you wouldn’t expect. My problem was the service and the«we’re too good for you» attitude. From hawking the silly«gas station protest» shirts(hello, you’re on Atlantic Blvd.), to pulling selectively from the wait list, to the hurried and dismissive attitude of the hostess and server, it was all off putting. No, you don’t need the business of one more visitor. And you sure went out of your way to make that clear to us.

In the area for work and decided to stay a few days extra and was thrilled to find this place for breakfast. Even though the diner is small; they do an incredible job of getting you seated and served as fast as they can. We sat at the counter which is first come first serve. Friendly and fast service. I had the west coast omelet and it was incredible — husband had the French toast which was awesome. They warm their syrup which everyone should! Cold syrup is the worst! So, brave the crowd, get yourself an incredible breakfast, served quickly and friendly and your pocketbook will be happy too!

I had the Cajun salmon and eggs. Absolutely perfect. The salmon was perfectly cooked. Had a nice week, but not to overwhelming for breakfast. My over medium eggs were also cooked nicely. The potatoes looked great, but I don’t eat home fries. I asked for French fries. The waitress forgot. I also didn’t remind her. That’s the only reason they are getting a four star instead of 5. My hubby and the kiddos also loved they’d food.

So to begin, the location is really easy to find if you are from out of town visiting. Parking in the morning hours isn’t bad at all, lots of spaces. Really close to Atlantic beach. The diner has a porch so you can sit and enjoy the cars as they wiz by on Atlantic Blvd. but lots off seating while you wait for a seat inside. I didn’t have to wait long since it was seating for one and they had a counter top close to the bathroom facing a painting on the wall which I didn’t mind(the spot sort of screams this person is lonely and sad). Hint wait for a good seat. The service is fast, and waiter was pretty nice to include the rest of staff. The food was a lot and tasty, I even subbed some menus items for fruit. I had the ultimate with is a taste of different stuff see pic. Total price $ 13.14 after tax that included the orange juice, path on the back by the waiter and being called Hun.

We had intended to have lunch at the famous Metro diner but after a look at the wait to get in and unable to find a parking spot we moved on down the road and decided to try the Beach Diner. Glad that we did and even though we had about a 10 minute wait, it was well worth it. And very comfortable as they have nice seating out front. Service was very friendly and we decided to try two of their daily specials, the fried shrimp and the beef stroganoff. The started us off with a delicious piece of homemade cornbread, moist and sweet. The fried shrimp were the best my wife and I have ever had. Large shimp, butterflied and with a nice crunchy coating that was not too thick. Very generous portion as well. Beef was excellent with plenty of large chunks of meat and mushrooms and a sauce that was not overly seasoned. The sweet potato soufflé that we had as a side was excellent as well. Sweet and covered with pecans. Everything tasted homemade.

Good food with really great service. I have had breakfast twice at this diner and each time the waitress has been so kind and tentative. It has some good menu choices but I always stick to my two eggs with bacon and potatoes. The potatoes are a large side so come hungry!

Pretty good! Can see why people were waiting outside. Do wish they had more GF options but was fine. Home fries were great with the onions. Do wish coffee flowed more.

Pretty decent dinner with a great beachy, laid back vibe. There was a wait to get in but not bad and the weather was good to sit outside. Varied menu with lots of choices. I chose the Godfather sandwich as I was not in the mood for breakfast. It was pretty good. Great flavor on the meats and the bread was nice and toasty. The fries could have been could a little more as I like them crispy but tasted good. Next time i’ll try to get a signature dish as this was just an Italian sub. Service was incredible and prices very resaonable.

We use Unilocal for one reason only: to find the best, local businesses in town. Once again, Unilocal hit the nail on the head for Beach Diner — one of my favorite Atlantic Beach restaurants. Second time here. I’ve ordered breakfast twice. The first time I indulged in the«Eggs on the Bayou,» which was ridiculously spectacular. A succulent Benedict with perfectly cooked crabmeat and served with simple roasted potatoes. Today I ordered the Corned Beef Hash with fluffy scrambled eggs, buttered wheat toast and grits. This diner staple was abnormally delicious. The consistency you expect when ordering hash. The service is polite, friendly, and personable. If you’re looking for a place where customer service comes first and IS the undeniable priority, Beach Diner is your new home away from home. Sit at the counter, engage with the staff and savor classic diner fare with a unique twist.

I have given great reviews for this place in the past but today no. I ordered Beef Stroganoff over egg noodles and I was served pot roast over egg noodles. At the end of my meal, I found a package of sour cream hidden under the lip of the bowl. I guess I was supposed to mix up once they served me. REALLY? So I go to open the package and a glob of sour cream flies out and lands on my tie ruining it. Of course the waitress could have told me when I ordered it was actually pot roast with a side of sour cream in a package which I would have declined or when she served me but she didn’t bother too. She also served me a piece of corn bread that usually the waitress asked me about and I always decline so as not to wasted food which is another pet peeve of mine. Time to retrain the staff on good customer service.

Most of the food tasted like it had been sitting in a pan, barely warm. It had been some time since I was there last and now I remember why. There are better options near the beach than this place.

Delicious! Great food quick service once you are seated. On the weekends you will have a wait, but it’s well worth it! We had eggs on the bayou which is an awesome eggs Benedict dish. Crab, bacon, poached egg on an English muffin covered with hollandaise sauce and green onions & tomatoes! Delicious!!! And the chronology crab omelette. Just simply delicious!

I love Unilocal.Because it helps me find places like this. Fantastic breakfast. I went with the«Eggs on the Bayou», and no other breakfast will ever live up to it. Great service and a cool, «local flavor» place. I’ll be back for sure.

Food was good, people were friendly, server kept my coffee warm. I love it here in Jacksonville, so much less pretentious than Dallas. Everyone seems friendly. This place looks like a lot of locals come hangout. I guess Jax isn’t a huge tourist destination, however it is a hidden gem, and this cute little diner fits the area perfectly.

So finally checked this place out and wish I had went sooner. I ordered the Godfather sandwich which was amazing and bread was just the right crunchy crust, but soft in the inside. My buddy ordered the Eggs over the Bayou which had crab meat, hollandaise sauce, poached egg, bacon on top of a English muffin! Of course being the great friend I tried a bite to make sure it was safe… holy cow that was good. Oh and he also ordered The Sinful Belgium, one of the best waffles I have ever had. ALSOMILITARYDISCOUNT! TOPMARKS: Hospitality, speedy service, and freaking great food! LOWMARKS: Closes at 1430, Bigger Plates

Stopped by for a late breakfast with the kiddos while traveling back home to SC and definitely glad we did. We both opted for the Eggs on the Bayou and definitely enjoyed the dish. The wife opted for the side of fruit and I the home fries which I probably should have went with something else. The chunks of potatoes were a little too big for me. The kids pancakes were great and tasted awesome, I may have stolen one! The service was friendly albeit a tad slow for a Monday late morning in my opinion but at least they were nice! Overall a solid breakfast location and we’ll definitely be back.

I’ve been here a few times and at first I was under impressed because the eggs weren’t cooked properly(the Sunnyside up were just too raw) plus the waitress argued with me about the eggs and assumed her tip aka she never brought us our change. But, I’ve given it a few more tries and am happy to say that I haven’t seen that terribly rude waitress since and the chef has made the eggs a perfect Sunnyside up every time since! Every time after the one I described has been everything I’d expect from a diner: Clean environment, friendly staff and perfectly executed breakfast entrees. That being said, this is the sweetest little diner here in Jacksonville. My favorite meals include their greek omelet and all the different waffles, but especially the pecan! If you’re in the mood for it, their eggs Benedict rocks – be adventurous and try the seafood one. It is soooooo good. If you want a nice breakfast before work, catch the early bird special between 6am and 8am. It’s lower on price for an amazing, all-American breakfast platter!
