I was intrigued by the Earl grey crips and the peanut butter cookie with chocolate nibs. The earl grey cookie was ok, but it didn’t taste fresh. The pb cookie had a weird after taste, possibly associated with the chocolate nibs that which crunchy and more seed like than chocolate consistency. I would pass…

Their chocolate caramel tart is what draws me to this place every time. The crust very flaky crust and the smooth tasty chocolate caramel filling. I’m not a chocoholic but I do love this tart. That day I decided to try the cheddar waffle with honey-syrup and bacon which they offer on Saturdays. Unfortunately, the cheddar waffle and bacon was just meh, the waffle and bacon wasn’t pipping hot and seemed it was rewarmed and lukewarm at that. If the other sandwiches or quiche is like that I’ll stick to just the tarts then it’ll be fine. I’ll stop by and get my usual if I’m in the area.

Ah I wish I could give four and a half stars! But ok, I love this place SOMUCH i will give it five. Are you looking for a croissant that actually tastes like it was baked fresh in Europe? Well folks, I don’t know what kind of international magic the hip little bakers have at Little Tart, but this is the only place in the U.S. where I have ever had a croissant actually taste like it was made in Europe, and I have lived in NYC and had Balthazars. My only reason for docking them half a star is that on occasion, I have arrived bright and early(ok on a weekend) and my beloved croissants had yet to be baked even though the store was open. Maybe that’s just the hangry ex-New Yorker in me expecting the world to operate on my 12-minutes-ahead-of-schedule clock and I should be more laid back and shouldn’t deter anyone from trying out Little Tart. They serve Octane Coffee drinks, which are great, and they boast a wide selection of pastries and cookies and other fancy, sugary, baked deliciousnesses. I have never tried anything there and not wanted seconds.

The Little Tart Bakeshop has a monopoly on coffee and breakfast foods at Krog Street Market(which is surprising, since Atlanta has such a big brunch culture). Luckily, they have great options. The coffee and espresso drinks are always good. The pastries I’ve tried(mostly croissants) are always flaky and light — though I’ve got my eye on the quiche for next time I go there. Outside of breakfast, I’ve also tried their apple tart, which was awesome — good mix of tasty crust to apple topping, and not too sweet. Service is fast and friendly(and they were happy to fulfill my friend’s slightly odd request for a latte with no coffee — e.g. warm milk to give her toddler — which I thought was nice!).

We really enjoyed Little Tart Bakeshop in Krog Market. The breakfast sandwich was delicious, as was the berry/lemon tart I tried. The coffee was very solid as well. Unfortunately the whole experience was tarnished by the parking police at the Market. Do not leave the premesis for any reason what so ever even for a minute unless you want a boot and to pay $ 75. Needless to say we were not aware of the strictness of this rule and our cute/cheap/delicious breakfast date turned into a $ 100 ordeal. We will not be back anytime soon to the market. Oh well!

FIRSTANDLASTVISIT! I just don’t believe this place. Even if I wasn’t a baker, my standards would still be higher. First of all, I don’t believe in pre-made sandwiches. How dare you charge someone $ 8 for a ham sandwich you made hours ago and sat in a window uncovered! So here is my rule, if the pastries don’t look fresh, succulent and appetizing I’m not buying. On the other hand if it has meat or is something different, my husband will buy. I bought nothing and he purchased a sausage pastry and a butter almond cake, which I tasted. The salty sausage pastry was very dry and very heavy while the cake was dry and had an unbalanced taste,(needed salt for balance and the fat was so heavy that it left a coating on my tongue). They were fairly disgusting and my husband was disappointed in both.

I cannot say much other than the best brioche we have had outside of France. Great coffee and pastry place.

Little tarts is a super cute generally friendly and welcoming little early morning weekend treat. It’s always opens before the bearded-polo shirt-topknot-cuffed jeans hipster yuppies get to KSM, so that is a super bonus! This place always helps to make a weekend brunch for my wife and I super easy and awesome. Which is why it pains me to have to only give 2 stars. The reason why? Employee attitude. Is it all the employees? NO, most of the employees are sweet and friendly and generally really nice especially after all the many times I’ve been there(I only live 100 yards away). HOWEVER. When a customer asks for something simple that every bakeshop in the world should carry(white sugar), PLEASEDON’T ROLLYOUREYESATME. I am not your middle school guidance counselor. I’m a guest, and a chef of 25 years. I know the difference between the sugars, assuredly better than you do. There IS a massive difference in taste. And some of us prefer the taste of granulated white sugar. But the point is not you not having white sugar… I totally understand and support making food and beverage with love and care with organic nonmessedwith ingredients. What I don’t support is your lousy holier-than-thou attitude. You only use raw organic all natural filtered thru a unicorn’s mane, raw sugar. I get it! Just be nice about it. You know who you are, and you’re lucky the other employees of LTB are so polite and sweet. I will still come here, but it may never be the same, sadly.

Best. Croissants. Ever. I mean… What else do you need? Everything I’ve had here is delicious! It’s my favorite spot on the weekends for an early breakfast. I wake up, walk the belt line, grab a coffee and croissant and walk home! It’s so great! The ham and cheese croissant, toasted or warmed up is amaze! The cheese gets a little melty and the outer layers of the croissant crisp up even more if that’s even possible! There are so many layers to the croissant. Don’t eat it if you’re on a diet, there’s probably a boat load of butter but totally worth every calorie… I mean I eat one every weekend… I’ve also had the«kween-ah-mahn» … Not sure how to spell it. And the almond croissant. It has almond paste and real almonds in it! Seriously everything is good if you like pastries.

I’ve been here twice now and have tried the pumpkin tea cake and some sables. The pumpkin tea cake was delicious! The top was crusted in sugar, adding great texture to the cake, and the bottom had pumpkin seeds, adding some nutty flavors. The sables I got were lemon lavender and earl grey sables. The lavender is strong in the sable, making it almost taste savory when it is sweet. I don’t recommend getting this if you don’t like the floral flavors in food. I really liked the earl grey sable — love love love the tea flavor! Too bad Jeni’s and this little bakeshop aren’t next to one another — I paired their earl grey sable with the wildberry lavender ice cream at jeni’s and it was amazing!

I wanted big things for Little Tart Bake Shop. Unfortunately, Little Tart Bake Shop is just little in my eyes. I was so excited when I saw their coffee menu and their tarts and pastries. I may have over-hyped it in my mind. I ordered a skim milk latte, while my friend ordered some quiche, a lemon tart and a chocolate croissant, per my recommendation. The skim milk latte tasted super watered down. Even my friends who don’t usually drink coffee thought it wasn’t very strong. I remember watching the barista make my coffee and the proportion of milk to espresso was ridiculous. The chocolate croissant looked dry from the get go, as my friend tore it into thirds for sharing. It was definitely really flakey and buttery, but it seemed to be missing a lot of the key ingredient: chocolate. The proportion of chocolate to croissant was ridiculous. Are you seeing a trend? The quiche was a little bland but very eggy and had a subtle hint of savory flavor. Not bad. The lemon tart was ONPOINT. The saving grace to this experience. The lemon filling was tart, and the pastry shell was crumbly but solid. A must order, for sure. I don’t mean to be harsh, Little Tart, since you ARE super cute. Just step it up, please!

I adore pastries so I had to give in to temptation at Little Tart. I tried the fruit tart based on the server’s favorite choice. The tart was a flaky, moist dough with peaches and blueberries inside and just a hint of sweetness, yummers! I would recommend sharing one as it was generous portions.

Oh my god YUM. Tried the lemon tart, chocolate almond croissant, crème fraîche quiche, bacon scone, and a bite of the meringue. I’m pretty sure this is the best bakery in all of Atlanta. I’d probably give my firstborn so I could eat the stuff from here for the rest of my life. Anyone who wants to contest can fight me 1-on-1, I’m serious. Everything was on-point and they pay attention to the details too — liqueur in the croissant, spotted trotter bacon from next door with an intense smokiness, fresh eggs in the custard for the lemon tart, and a nice buttery crust with pumpkin seeds atop of the quiche. Sparkling water available for free in the tap near the tables. I think the prices are way high but justified and understandable for the quality of goods you’re receiving… and I imagine rent in Krog street ain’t cheap either. This is kinda like a low-key version of food halls(i.e. think Ferry Building in San Fran) that have been cropping up in the US(first food trucks, now food halls). I also love the ladies that work here… Rosie the Riveter dress-alikes with rolling pin and whisk tattoos(LOL). What badasses! tl;dr: Rosie the Riveter and her horde of ladies are coming for your heart through your stomach.

Top notch little spot in Krog St Mkt. The savories in the case are better than the sandwiches for brunch. Get savory bread pudding or quiche. For sweets try a grapefruit tart or double chocolate sea salt cookie !! I wish they had almond or coconut milk for drinks. Bön appetit !

Cute shop but the food on display don’t look fresh. I tried the quiche and it was just too mushy and soft inside for my taste. The flavor did not overwhelm me. The wait to get that heated felt longer than necessary. It was a busy weekend afternoon. Would not get it again, nor recommend it. Way overpriced at a little over $ 5 for a slice. Menu looks diverse and on the weekend, there is a special… cheddar waffles with honey-type syrup. At a little over $ 7 total, I highly recommend adding the bacon as it is generously scattered throughout the fluffy waffles. The wait time was very long. It felt like it was around 15 minutes. There were only 3 people staffing on this particular sunny Saturday at around 4 pm.

I had the egg sandwich(see picture by Robin) and holy shit, I might have blacked out for a moment or 5. Despite the fantastic pastries, I was thinking it would be your standard egg on bread sandwich… of course not. The little tart peeps like to go big and the sandwich is pretty much all that. What looks like a roll is really a buttery flaky croissant in the shape of the roll. The egg inside isn’t your standard fried or scrambled egg, it’s pretty much the egg that is inside one of LTB’s quiches. So basically a mostly solid half egg, half cream concoction inside of a croissant roll. Hella delicious(please ignore my use of hella, I would never use it when speaking, it just seems to fit this perfect egg sandwich perfectly). To sum up the runon sentences above: If you are anywhere near the Krog Market Little Tart Bakeshop location get the egg sandwich(meat on top is extra). You’re welcome.

Happy to see Little Tart has it’s own little bakeshop in Krog Market! Been a fan of the pastries they sell at the Grant Farmer’s Market for a long time now, and after seeing them on Creative Loafing’s list of places/foods to try out, I’ve finally managed to get a hold of one of their huge plain croissants. I’ve tried a number of things from Little Tart, and recently got to try a plethora of cookies and tarts from them via a friend. I can’t really specify all of what I had since it was a modge podge of items, but I’ll try to give a break down. The Plain Croissant: This was listed in CL’s 100 dishes to try(2013) list. not sure if there is an updated version of that list, but going by that, we grabbed one of these. It’s pretty big, pretty crisp, pretty soft and flaky, and so very good. I’m not even a fan of croissants, but I can’t imagine a better croissant to get with a nice cup of coffee. Apple crisp tart(or so I think?) — It was like a mini pie, and the apples were so nicely flavored. All very subtle and well executed. Standard Iced Coffee — Not half bad, that’s for sure. =) I’m not a coffee snob though, but I do enjoy iced coffee. I could give Little Tart’s a thumbs up. Strawberry tart — Very cute, large tart with a nice flavor if you dig berries. Hot chocolate– Hehe, super tasty. Peanut Butter Cookies– Those cacao nibs are a genius add. Just the added crunch and subtle chocolate to offset the peanut butter. Some of the best I’ve had. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their baked goods, as much as I can, or at least to grab a cup of coffee.

Another fantastic addition to Krog St Market. Being the only place serving coffee in the market, Little Tart is the perfect nook for the end of the middle portion of tenants. If you’ve been to the Grant Park location attached to Octane, you’ll be at least vaguely familiar with the menu. They serve Octane coffee and the menu is pretty simple — Regular coffee, iced, lattes, cappuccinos, etc. The coffee isn’t my absolute favorite, but each visit I’ve had over the last few weeks have been great. The lattes and iced coffee are something I’ll typically gravitate towards. They are good. They are also serving tons of baked goods and sandwiches at this location. You can get breakfast or even lunch here. Recently, I had a ham and cheese croissant with my latte and it was fantastic. Super flaky, buttery, and difficult to eat. Yep, that’s a croissant! My favorite part of it was the stereotypical explosion of crusty bits that fly everywhere(and in my case into my beard) when your fork and knife hit the crispy exterior. Such a satisfying crunch! Really happy we have another great local spot for coffee in town and especially at Krog. Really stoked to make this a regular stop throughout the work week!

I love everything about this lil bakeshop in Krog Market. The two gentlemen were so very nice and chipper early in the AM. I also loved their décor and setup. Their kitchen is open to the public as well, so you can see what they are working on «behind the scenes.» What you must get: Sausage turnover: Pine St. Market Sausage, potatoes, kale and ricotta cheese. Yes, please. This was perfection in a pocket of crisp, buttery amazingness. Iced coffee they carry from Octane was a perfect pair with my breakfast turnover. Creamy and bold. Also, the huge community tables right in front of their storefront is a great spot to post up, people watch, read, or catch up with friends! Greats spot!

Cool, the LTB in Krog St Market page is up. I think it was last Saturday, a rainy Saturday, that I drove over to KSM to see what was up, and what was open. Lots of runners around — some sort of running thing was happening nearby and quite a few were inside taking respite from the weather. And patronizing the LTB. So I bought a ginger-something scone. Fabulous. Beyond fabulous. I had not been to their other shop because I generally don’t search out pastries but having this outlet in KSM means I’ll have to try more. I just read Stephie’s post in full. Egg sandwiches topped with Spotted Trotter meats. Yeah, I’ll definitely be back.
