It’s my second time coming to this place… great Jamaican food, & in a food court of all places! I’ve had the regular jerk chicken & the jerk chicken pasta… both delicious, with the right amount of spice. Had to dock one star though for not having any beef patties ready. Said they just went in the oven & would take 20 minutes, but that’s one of the staples of Jamaican cuisine… they should always be available! Overall, very tastee indeed.

I was craving Jamaican food and search thru Unilocal and found this place situated at the food court next to fusion of Indian at perimeter mall. First impression, the staff were really kind and nice. Some confused older lady was in front of me, but they handled the situation quite professionally and she left content. It was my turn to order and the loaded chicken fries looked quite delectable on the screen, which consisted of hot Frenchy fries, pieces of jerk chicken, Alfredo sauce, parmigiana and herbs. So, that’s what I ordered without the parm. I really wanted to like it, but the ”jerk” chicken was really bland absolutely no flavor, needed some S & P tlc and the ”Alfredo” sauce just tastes like something I could’ve purchased at grocery stores. There wasn’t an ounce of ”jerk” flavor. I still devoured the dish, well because I had to feed my food child. Although, I was disappointed. I like to give places 2nd chance, perhaps I’ll try something else next time.

I was excited to try this place due to the reviews and four star rating… but The food was just okay. The plantains were hard and the Mac and cheese was gummy. The jerked chicken breast was well seasoned but many pieces were too tough. The best thing on my plate was the cabbage, which I would give five stars. I ate every drop of it. The rest will unfortunately go to waste…

So when I first heard about this place I heard about it on UberEats(which I will never do again in life because it completely sucks). When I contacted Tastee Spoon about the horrible service that I received from the UberEats The young lady who answered the phone was completely nice and even offered to pay for my meal because of the service that was received. Because of that jester alone it prompted me to try their food. I’m not going to lie when I found out that they were in the mall I was very hesitant to try Caribbean food in the mall, however I got the jerk chicken pasta and it was AMAZING!!! And everyone who works there is so stinkin nice I love it!!! I would definitely be going back again.

I like to support small businesses so I was quite surprised to find this tucked away in the food court at the Perimeter Mall. Service was good, and the employee was able to answer all my questions. I find that the electronic display menu is a little confusing as it keeps changing every 20 seconds or so, which makes it difficult to read the specials that are going on. A meat a la carte is $ 4.30 and a side is $ 2.20; a «special» plate of chicken and one side is $ 6.50 which really is no special price at all. I ordered the jerk BBQ chicken with a side of plantains. The chicken was cooked perfectly and fell off the bone. The plantain wasn’t too greasy at all, which was a plus in my book. The chicken could have been served warmer, but it didn’t deter from my experience. I could tell that the jerk seasoning was homemade and not from a canister. That made me really happy! All that being said, I’ve had better tasting Jamaican food in Atlanta but it was so much better than hitting up the other places in the food court.

Had an hour to waste while waiting on my phone repair when I came across this food court restaurant. Ordered the jerk salmon and it was perfectly cooked and had a delicious glaze sauce. Sides of macaroni and cabbage were extra. Macaroni was not bad(i’m picky though) and cabbage had nice flavor. Would come back to try the patties and the shrimp pasta next time I come to mall. Not so great that I would drive all the way up there just to go to the restaurant, but a nice option if you happen to be at the mall.

Authentic Caribbean without leaving home. I ordered using UberEats and I had my food — beef patty, jerk wings, mango salmon– in less than 39 minutes. Fast and delicious and a much better choice than the traditional delivery like pizza or Asian cuisines.

My visit to the mall was ruined after my meal at Tastee Spoon! I was completely excited to order and chow down on my bickle box of jerk wings until a hair was found 2 wings in. When I went back to the same lady who served me with a lack of enthusiasm and head down the entire time, she completely smiled called her cook and then he replies«this is not hair it’s plastic» well dull /synthetic hair is plastic! Anyway after I asked to exchanged to the jerk pasta bowl, the same woman server with the short black cut(hence the hair found in my box) says«I threw the bickle box away» like WOW, no I am sorry or light compassion to my experience?! Whatever I won’t be back there maybe the Indian kiosk next door #internationalcusinechallenge

I expected better maybe it’s because I’m hey on Tuesday but the meet was tough the service was slow rice and peas OK macaroni and cheese was the only thing I give them two thumbs up about but I tip the lady she was doing such a good job trying to get about 15 people served all by herself

The last time I ate at a mall food court was when I was in high school, probably. Except for a time or two when I was dragged to the food court for a mid day meal. For mall food court, this is a fine restaurant. The fact that they offer jerk chicken is news to me(and next door is Indian food). It must be 2016. The usual suspects of Panera and Auntie Ann’s still exist but Tastee and other ethnic food gives options to the food court foodies. I ordered the jerk wings with one side(half and half actually because I wanted to try the cabbage & broccoli). My husband tried the jerk chicken with veggies, stir fried. The wings were a 7 out of 10. I asked for the sauce, that’s doused on the wings, on the side. Thankfully that was the right decision. The wings were perfectly cooked and had plenty of dry rub. The veggies on the other hand were a disaster, under salted and overcooked broccoli did not make for good sides. The husband’s chicken and veggies were fine. We agreed the sauce for both the chicken and stir fry were the same and slightly sweet, slightly tangy, just okay. For a quick lunch this was fine but I won’t be back because I despise food court meals, trays of food sitting on warming tray for hours, no thanks. They get a star for friendly customer service.

Okay, so this one is recent… it was yesterday actually! I’ve came to this place about 3 times and I’M. IN. LOVE! The Tastee Spoon is an authentic Caribbean restaurant and if you know me well enough, you know that Caribbean food falls pretty low on my list of food choices. Maybe it’s because it’s popular in my house or whatever, but I just don’t care for it(but that’s for another time). But this place has made me somewhat love Caribbean food. I tried both the jerk shrimp pasta and the jerk chicken pasta on 3 different occasions and it was phenomenal! What I loved the most about the pasta was the sauce. It was very creamy and the seasonings were just right… not too spicy like I was expecting. And let me get to the best part: the employees. They were very sweet and were so patient with me despite me changing my mind over a half a dozen times(I would’ve rolled my eyes if I were in their position) and even after changing my mind that many times, they still let me sample each piece! From this alone, I’ve learned something about myself… I’m lowkey a pain in the ass. Why am I so picky? The world may never know… but what I do know is that I’d recommend this place to anyone I run into. Wish I had pictures of my delish food.

I was completely leery when my homie suggested«Mall» Caribbean food. However it did not disappoint. I had a beef patty & the jerk chicken pasta, and although the pasta could’ve used a tad more seasoning it was still a well executed dish! The service was also great there; Tasha was very personal. I would dine again without a doubt!!! Oh & the«loaded fries» YUM ChefboyAreLex

Well I always like to support my fellow Caribbean’s so I went to try this place out. I was a little suspicious being that it is located in the mall but gave it a try. I decided to go a little light on the first try so I order the jerk wings and a side of rice and peas. The server reached for the baked wings and I reminded her that I wanted jerk wings. She said I am going to make these jerk wings. I knew I was in trouble right there. They are either jerk wings from the start or not. I should of listened to my I tin ya and said forget the order. I opened the carton and it was swimming in jerk sauce. The whole bottom of the container was liquid. The rice and peas were dry and saturated with thyme. To be honest the rice and peas were not nasty but it was not good. The whole wing conversion was a hot mess. Co workers had the patties and soda and we’re pleased. $ 9 dollars later still hungry and upset. FYI– Chef Rob has great jerk wings

Caribbean food so good. I was going to the mall to get Chinese food right next to this spot. While waiting in line at the Chinese spot I kept looking at the signs and food flashing on the screens at Tastee Spoon. My coworker said that looks good don’t it I said indeeed so we got out of line and went over. The best decision in lunchtime mall eating. Ordered the jerk shrimp pasta, and while we waited for our food they asked did we wanna sample anything. Sure how bout the chicken wing, she grabbed the tongs and said would you like sauce. The wing was superb. Now back at work eating this jerk shrimp pasta… plump shrimp, soft not flimsy pasta, and a jerk Alfredo sauce to die for. I have to say this will be my new spot when im at the mall or in need of some good food for lunch.

I had to support this establishment coming from a Caribbean family. Their jerk chicken is amazing and similar to how I season my jerk chicken(I’m heavy with the scotch bonnet though). My fiancé and I took advantage of the Groupon special and got rice and peas, fried plantains, chicken and tilapia. They also served jerk chicken pasta, beef patties, salmon, curry chicken(I don’t eat curry from other people so I can’t and won’t review that in the future), macaroni and cheese, fried okra and jerk wings. I will revisit soon when I get tired of cooking since their customer service was pleasant and didn’t have a forced or rude vibe like other Caribbean restaurants. The lady at the register had a sense of humor when we asked if they had any Irish Moss hidden in the back! I really hope they dominate and open up more locations! Look out for their food truck!

The perimeter mall location is the bomb. Staff is soooo nice and personable, you can tell they care about the food and the business. Jerk wings are unbreaded fried wings that are spicy and sweet. $ 6.5 curry chicken with one side is of a surprisingly huge portion. Thumbs up! Excited that they are at the mall!

They just opened at Perimeter Mall and we’re excited! We ran down here in the rain and OMG we were happy! The jerk delivered. Real deal. True Caribbean food. Plantain sweet too! Mac & Cheese Pie. Curry not water down. Found our office lunch spot! Rock on!!! The manager are so sweet too. New staple.
